  1. Ideally, you want your high OBP guys batting in front of your big boppers. I can understand wanting some speed at the top of the lineup, but I wouldn't sacrifice so much OBP to put 2 fast guys like Vic and Ells at the top of the order.
  2. Find one single post where I attacked someone unprovoked like you just did solely because of their sports opinion. Just one. Except maybe against you, because you are special. So f*** off.
  3. ^Don't do this.:thumbdown
  4. The mere mention of the name Scott Kazmir sends Mets fans into seizures.
  5. Age has a lot of credibility. It eventually gets every athlete. When they get to their mid 30's they are on borrowed time. Writing their obituaries in their early 30's is a little pre-mature.
  6. Renaudo looked like a busted prospect until his resurgence this year. They are still stretching out Rubby. He hasn't gone more than 4 inning yet. We will be waiting for forever to see these 3 together in our rotation.
  7. Lackey is playing like a horse-face on a mission.
  8. What killed them in 2012 was that they were not a good team. It 's the same thing that will kill them this year.
  9. I think you are letting your optimistic imagination run wild a bit. I'd be happy if one of them became a reliable, productive major league starter.
  10. This 30% figure is far from scientific. It's based on anectodotal experience, not physiological responses. Although he threw 76 inning last season, he didn't take more than 3 turns in a row as a starter. I don't think he can hold up for 12-15 starts in a row.
  11. Most people would acknowledge that he has good stuff. The issue with him has always been durability. I don't see him holding up as a starter over the course of a season. I don't think that he has had any seasons where he went more 60 innings. I haven't looked it up in a while, but he hasn't done a lot of work, yet he has been DL'd several times.
  12. At least we didn't have Hanrahan under contract for 2 years like we did with that fat pig Jenks. I was at Jenks last game. It was at Yankee stadium. He got winded during his warmup tosses. I don't remember if the fat load even througfh any pitches.
  13. Did you miss the wink? I am not a fan of strikeouts as a offensive strategy. Yet,NESN interviews "Swing and a miss" Napoli about his highest per AB pitch count. They asked him if it is intentional. He answered very seriously that he consciously tries to see a lot of pitches. I was just shaking my head. He's not looking at pitches or being patient. He'd see half as many pitches if he made a decent amount of contact. Swinging and missing is not patience imo.
  14. All these strikeouts drive up pitch counts. You guys are missing the point.
  15. It's called grinding at bats.
  16. Napoli saw 5 pitches. He maintains his league lead.:thumbdown
  17. Has your question been answered?
  18. He missed qualifying for the win because he couldn't make it through 5 innings.
  19. Napoli saw 4 pitches to keep up his lead in pitches per AB. Of course, he usually strikes out so that takes up at least 3 pitches. IMO, he doesn't grind out ABs. He's just a big whiffer.
  20. Ridiculous decision by Butterball. Farrell teams continue to run the bases like imbeciles. No one out with Big papi coming to the plate and they send him home. Just stupid.
  21. Watching Dempster pitch is like a rerun of Dice K.
