  1. DiceK being compared to Cano? Oh come on. Cano is a great offensive player. The guy is a pure hitter. We talk about him playing first base, but with Cano's arm we should consider the possibilty of him playing 3rd. He would have a higher value at 3rd.
  2. Bitching about bitching is bitching and really really stupid, but it is his reason for being.
  3. Yep, for example, just because Salty was a big contributor to our World Championship doesn't mean that he doesn't suck at throwing out base runners.
  4. He just has to bitch about people bitching even if they are not bitching. That is bitching once removed. LOL!!
  5. I really expected championships in the mid and late 70's. They had some awesome talented teams in those years, but unfortunately there was no wild card.
  6. Cano would hit like a beast in Fenway batting in between Pedroia and Ortiz. That would be something to see. It would also kill Yankee fans, and I love that.
  7. I never s*** on our players. I will s*** on management. I have never hidden the fact that i don't hold much fondness for the suits in baseball. Cherries gets a nice reprieve from my criticism for winning a championship. Job well-done.
  8. I've been well. I think the FO has very little pressure to make moves this off season. They can ride the wave of euphoria of a World Championship. They just need to put out a competitive crew next season and not gut the roster. I am not a huge Napoli fan, but I can't ignore the fact that his teams always seem to be tough minded fighters and very competitive. I don't think that is an accident. I also don't think he should cost too much to sign considering his hip condition. I think our starting pitching is set. They will tinker around with the pen, get a backup catcher, get an OFer if Ellsbury walks.
  9. Winning did make me happy. Unfortunately, it was not enough for some who need to be in attack gotcha mode at all times. I can't understand it. I will still defend anyone on the board from unnecessary bullying or targeting. That's not limited to Fred and iortiz. I just can't stomach that s***. I have been busy lately, but I will be back to pummel those who need pummeling.
  10. The market for Salty might be weak because he gave up more stolen bases of all catchers.
  11. The Dodgers have done very well at over-hyping their prospects and then trading them. It has been a major part of their playbook for as long as i can remember.
  12. I would be surprised that he did not change that opinion after a year at home with his wife and 4 kids.
  13. I had forgotten that we had signed Ross for 2 years.
  14. Did LL say that we were in on Hannigan who would be paired with Ross? Maybe they let Ross walk and pair Hannigan with Lavarnway. I agree with Doji that Hannigan and Roiss would be redundant. I'd prefer to have on or ther other paired with Lavarnway to see what he has at the MLB level.
  15. That is crazy money for him.
  16. Didn't you also catch a foul ball this season? In 2013, you catch a foul ball, you played Frisbee with Sox players, the Sox win the World Series, and you gave a lift to the team president who gave you a scoop. 2013 is one memorable year for you!
  17. They are in a similar position that the Red Sox were going into 2013. They have talent, but some glaring holes and a lack of heart. Their GM is faced with the same types of challenges as Cherries was last year.
  18. He's likeable? Who cares.
  19. I don't really disagree with iortiz. I think the Ivy's stink at the undrgraduate level. Some do have excellent graduate programs.
  20. I agree with MVP about Harvard, and hold similar opinions about most of the other Ivy League Universities. The education they provide at the undergraduate level is almost wholly useless. Their graduates enter the work force as entitled brats that don't know how to work, and even worse, many think that work is beneath them. I have worked with many of them over the years. They look great on paper, but they very few are good at their job. There is still value in the degree, because they do get jobs, whereas graduates from other colleges anf universities have a very difficult time getting employment.
  21. If you are seeing bitching about Ben, you have a really warped filter.
  22. Hopefully, he doesn't end up with the Skanks.
  23. Ellsbury was on 2 championship teams. He is the fastest guy that I have seen in a Red Sox uni in my lifetime. I love the element of elite speed that he brings to the game. I would be happy to keep him with the Red Sox. I don't really care much about extra draft picks. That doesn't excite me anywhere near the excitement that I feel when Ells hits one in the gap or down the line or when he takes off to steal second base.
  24. Yep, there is plenty of time. His price and years will not inflate too much due to his hip condition.
  25. It's now or never for Lavarnawy. If they aren't going to give him his chance in 2014, they should part company with him.
