  1. He may be one of those guys you hate when he is an opponent but love him when he is on your team. Swisher is like that too. Victorino.is like that too.
  2. I can't check that link on my BB, but wasn't that a poll of opposing players? If so, who cares. Big Papi likes him from their Twins days. That's all that matters to me. The guy plays hard and smart. There is no dog in him like AGon, Crawford and Beckett.
  3. I don't understand why people hate this guy. He's durable. He hits well for a catcher and he has been on some winning ballclubs at every stop he has made. The one negative is that he is a bit long in the tooth. He is a better defensive csatcher than Salty and he will not strikeout every other AB.
  4. Bailey was non-tendered. Athletics Acquire Jim Johnson From Orioles For Jemile Weeks
  5. Last December, I was very anxious. This year I'm not a bit anxious. I'm just waiting to see the Championsip Banner hanging from the CF flagpole.
  6. Bard has a better chance of winning a gold medal in figure skating than he does of making it back to the big leagues.
  7. The miracle is that he has been getting paid for the last 2 seasons.
  8. We could have lived with both contracts if they had played up to their potential in 2011 and won a championship. The major problem is that 3 of their biggest money guys were whining dogs with no heart. They were losers that spread cancer in the clubhouse.
  9. Blass had the good sense to retire. Bard is still getting paid so he will stick around until no one pays him.
  10. You just can't resist taking a shot at the big man.
  11. We shouldn't but it will look like a little league game if he gets on base with Salty behind the dish. Ells will just run around the bases as the ball gets thrown all over the place.
  12. As for Ellsbury, if he goes to the Yankees and we re-sign Salty, Ells could rack up 30-40 steals just against the Sox next season.
  13. Dempster's contract was money down the drain.
  14. $4.3 million on Bailey seems like a waste of money for 2014.
  15. Even better.
  16. If they exercise the option, he will be under contract for 2015 at the league minimum. At that point they can trade that contract to another team. They can't trade the option but they can trade the contract once the option is exercised.
  17. Put him at 3rd base.
  18. Miggy and Ortiz back to back. That's a Sox fan's wet dream.
  19. We did discuss King Felix for 2 or 3 off seasons. What is the harm? I don't know why you are getting so worked up. Most of the trade rumors never come to fruition. Internet clutter is a big problem? 90% of the internet is unnecessary clutter. Your team won a championship. You saw the Sox beat the Skanks at Fenway. How can Hot Stove blather bother you so much? I am still smiling ear to ear.
  20. We discussed getting King Felix for years. That wasn't realistic either and it didn't happen, but it was fun to think about.
  21. It is fun to think about Cano in a lineup with Pedroia and Ortiz. I don't know why that would get anyone angry. It is a pipe dream, but it is fun to think about.
  22. No, I don't think there is a chance of getting Cano, but it is the hot stove season-- the time for imaginations to run amok.
  23. It was very surprising that the Cards would make this move.
