  1. there are only 2 realiable guys in the yanks rotation, Mussina and RJ. I dont no how you can say that chacon is a reliable starter. His road era from 2002-2004 was still 4.35. His K/BB ratio also isnt very good at only 1.30 which was tied for 90th best with jose lima. Pavano might be able to be a solid 4 starter but no one knows how bad his injury was. Jaret Wright is starting to resemble Kevin Brown when he pitched for the Yanks. Wang is still unproven and also had injury problems last year. Hes not as good as everyone thinks he is, maybe a #4 starter at best. Hes another one of those low K pitchers who rely on their defense. Aaron Small had 1 good year in his 13 year career but still has a career ERA of 4.90. Small, Chacon and Wang all rely heavily on good defense. The yankees defense as of now is not very good. Giambi is a huge reliablity at 1st, Damon has the worst arm in the league in CF, Cano is about as good as Soriano defensively at 2nd and Sheffield and Matsui are average corner OF. Jeter is strong at SS and Arod is starting to become a gold glove canidate at 3rd. The biggest strength of the yankees is still their lineup. their bullpen might be solid if they can stay healthy and pitch to their capability. Farnsworth has had one good year in his career so far (last year) and still has a career era of 4.45. Sturtze is a decent long reliver but no a good everday guy. Dotel wont be ready till mid june/july and Proctor has had absolutly no sucess in the majors in his career so far. Villone is a wild lefty who most likely will resemble Buddy Groom/Alan Embree of last year. Mike myers is a quality one batter guy who can get out lefties and thats it. Rivera might have to carry the bullpen by himself this year again if Farnsworth falters and Dotel cant come back healthy. Lot of ifs with the Yankees, but unfortunatly there are more ifs with the Sox
  2. they also have 4 guys in the top 10 for Batting average arod, jeter, matsui, damon ALSO 6 in the top 20 for OBP
  3. the Yankees will have five of the AL's top 12 run-scorers in their lineup next season. 1. Alex Rodriguez 124 2. Derek Jeter 122 3. David Ortiz 119 4. Johnny Damon 117 5. Michael Young 114 6. Chone Figgins 113 7. Manny Ramirez 112 7. Mark Teixeira 112 9. Ichiro Suzuki 111 9. Grady Sizemore 111 11. Hideki Matsui 108 12. Gary Sheffield 104
  4. only problem with trading with TB is there front office expects a lot in return. Theyll probally ask for Lester in return for gathright
  5. they need a leadoff hitter (right now there best leadoff possibility is Youk) and a big name SS to kinda counter the damon deal. the sox should talk to Cinci about Felipe Lopez and maybe one of their OF. (Dunn, Pena, MAYBE griffey) or maybe the tigers for one of their CF(Granderson, Monroe, Logan) and Carlos Guillen both this teams would want pitching in return (Arroyo and maybe Anibal) and probaly a prospect.

  7. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/ good article with the redsox front office
  8. exactly. Hes more worried about winning than paying 10 million extra $. Lucchino and Henry dont really seam to care. They just want to keep there money.
  9. rotoworld
  10. obviously didnt care about Boston. I guees he isnt one of those guys to take a "hometown discount"
  11. ya i didnt think id lose that much respect for him if he signed with another team, but im kinda pissed at the way he handle this
  12. he completely just blindsided the sox
  13. not that mad, but really surprised. This kinda came out of nowhere. I am glad however that the Sox didnt overpay for him.
  14. wow.....................................................
  15. Cardinals Interested In Coco Crisp mlbtraderumors
  16. although if Seanez can stay healthy and pitch like he did last year, he will really help as a 7th inning guy in the bullpen with mota and timlin in the 8th
  17. rotoworld and foxsports
  18. LRP--Sturtze MPR--Villone MRP--Proctor MRP--Myers SU--Farnsworth SU--Dotel CL--Rivera LRP--Dinardo MRP--Seanez MRP--Delcarmen MRP--Bradford SU--Timlin SU--Mota CL--Foulke yankees so far have slight edge
  19. ya i got him confussed with takatsu
  20. ya, the rangers really made a bad deal there. Giving up Chris Young (who is younger and already better than Eaton), Gonzalez who is a top 1B prospect and Termel Sledge who is a solid 4th OF for an average, complaining pitcher and a 33 yearold average reliever.
  21. Adam Eaton On The Block mlbtraderumors maybe he could be part of a wells deal?? wells for otsuka and eaton??????? wouldnt be a bad #5 guy in the rotation if we lose clement and arroyo
