We are lucky enough to live in a region that gives us the coverage that it does of the Red Sox farm system, but to me it seems we are always hyping guys up to be the next big thing, just because of all the media coverage the sox farm hands get. Im also starting to believe the organization believe all the media hype as well. Take Clay Buckholtz, Yes he threw a no-hitter in his first season, but so did Bud Smith.....Who is Bud Smith??? Thats my point. Clay could end up starting this season in triple A (which will not make him very happy) and while you really can never have enough pitching....enough is enough. The sox could have delt him in many different deals, but were too affraid they were giving away another Hanley Ramirez.
I by no means, mean to compare Bud Smith and Clay Buckholtz but guys before we start hyping up the next guy just remember there not always what they are cracked up to be.....
