  1. maybe, IF this does really happen, we can get a J.D. Drew deal from LA with D.Wells. maybe-- LA gets--Wells, decent prospect (alvarez, Pinckney, Rozier) Bos gets--Drew there was talk a while ago they might give up Drew and some of his contract for Wells
  2. if they send 6 million over plus matsui then maybe, but i think cora is better defensively and theyre about the same offfensively. Maybe theyll then send matsui in some sort of deal to TB for gathright. the mets have said theyd pay 5 million of matsui's contract, but the sox reportedly want 6 million
  3. thats why hes averaged 27 hr per year since 2002 with a .290 batting average. Huff in LF and Tejada at SS is much better than Cora and Manny.
  4. the d-rays would want more in return. maybe bannister and Anderson Hernandez could do it. This trade is a good idea for the Red Sox who would be filling all of their needs with solid players.
  5. take away the marte for gathright part of the deal and im ok with it. Like everyone else was saying, stern would be just as fine as gathright in CF. They both have exactly the same numbers in the minors, except for gathright has more SB's. Id rather see Sox get Miguel Tejada and Victor Diaz O's get Julio Lugo, Matt Clement, and Kris Benson Mets get Manny Ramirez and Danys Baez D-Rays get Jae Seo, Aaron Heilman, Kaz Matsui and Anderson Hernandez
  6. I think its a good trade if they send Seo, not Heilman. Heilman is 1 year younger and more versatile as he can start or work out of the bullpen. He also has more upside than Seo.
  7. i could see them trying contreras, uribe and woodson. But that isnt as much as the sox would give them with manny and clement. The orioles have said they want someone good in return for tejada. Contreras is about as good as clement and manny obviously is much better than uribe.
  8. marte probaly could play left, but its also easier finding a corner OF than a SS. Everyone thinks marte's like an Albert Pujols as in he can play 3rd, LF and 1st. I dont think hes ready yet. Hes been struggling in the winter league, i heard he was batting like .215 with 2 homers in 120 ab's.
  9. i havnt heard that yet, but it makes sense. Ive heard only manny and clement for miggy. Nick Markakis is most likely going to start in center for the O's so they would probaly be willing to deal matos to.
  10. tejada even more upset with Orioles i think the sox need to really try to get the manny and clement for tejada deal done. Manny may be the better hitter, but tejada never complains (as long as his team is good), is never injured and is great defensively. Hes also younger and cheaper. He is also a great leader, which the sox might have lost in damon. In an article in the globe today, one orioles source said the O's are intrigued by the manny, clement for tejada deal. The only thing that is left is the money and whether are not the O's want to trade within the division
  11. New manny scenario from mlbtraderumors fills all of the holes... idk what to think about it Lugo--SS Loretta--2nd Ortiz--DH Floyd--LF Lowell--3rd Nixon--RF Varitek--C Youkilis--1B Gathright--CF i dont like Floyd hitting 4th. I think by this point manny has to stay
  12. Interesting to see how Millwood pitches against the Sox opening day
  13. according to mlbtraderumors, the cubs are out of the tejada chase and its only the redsox left this from the boston globe...
  14. ya I read that to and almost threw up. Rotoworld however sayd there no chance of it happening
  15. tejada probaly wont be traded foxsports rotoworld
  16. cairo is expected to sign a with the yankees in the next few days as a utilityman
  17. joe randa signed a 1 year/4 million$ deal with the pirates.
  18. what does francona being a better manager than dusty baker have to do with mark prior's injury problems??
  19. the mets might need to include milledge to the orioles for this to even be possible.
  20. theres a really good group of FA after the 2007 season Halladay C. Zambrano Oswalt Carpenter Andruw Jones CC Sabathia Michael Young Adam Dunn Vernon Wells Ichiro Mark Sweeney vs. 2006 Jim Edmonds Juan Pierre Torii Hunter Carlos Lee Gary Sheffield Soriano Derek Lee Garland Brad Radke Zito Pettite Mulder 2008 is also a potentially good year johan santana Mark Teixeira Brian Roberts Morgan Ensberg Aramis Ramirez Felipe Lopez Manny Ramirez (MLB4u thinks manny will retire by then) Rafael Furcal Jason Varitek Vlad Harden Sheets Prior Oliver Perez Francisco Rodriguez
  21. CF's who are FA after this season Jim Edmonds (Team Option) Mike Cameron (Team Option) Juan Pierre Kenny Lofton Bernie Williams Gary Matthews Jr. Jay Payton Randy Winn Torii Hunter (Team Option) Steve Finley (Team Option) Milton Bradley Aaron Rowand (Player + Team Options)(arb.) Dave Roberts
  22. i dont think Jones is available for free agency till after the 2007 season anyway.
  23. the braves will do anything they can to resign Andruw Jones. I think Zito will become a FA and atleast see how much he can get, but the A's need him and will try to resign him also.
  24. way too confusing to happen i think id be fine with it if it happend, but i dont think the O's are getting enough in return
  25. ya exactly what is wrong with JT Snow. He'll have the exact same role as John Olerud had last year. In 2004 he hit .327 in 108 games. He has a career fielding percentage of .996. His not going to play everyday. He is much better than Kevin Millar.
