i agree with trading marte for crisp is a huge mistake, but i think Millwood is proven enough to give him a four year deal. He has a career era of 3.75 and his coming of his best year. Hed be 35 after his contract is up. Id give him 4/45 but not 5 years
moss instead of murton (murton was traded to the cubs in the nomar deal) and probaly lowrie at SS and pedroia at 2B. Luis Soto should also be some where in there.
i think are pitching is very strong . Lester and Papelbon in the front of the rotation and Delcarmen and Hansen in the 8th and 9th is pretty good. The only problem is there isnt much power. Marte is an a exception and maybe Soto.

best lineup i could think of under 25
Looks like they might have gotten scared by the Red Sox deciding to pursue him
Id go no more than 4 yrs/45 million with him. Hopefully the meeting tonight went well and we can possibly sign him. Hed potentially give the sox one of the top rotations in the league:
Schilling (if healthy can dominate)
Wakefield (strong every year)
Beckett (has great stuff)
Millwood (led league in ERA last year)
Papelbon (was effective last year and has top of the rotation potential)

dont really want to give up marte....Rather deal a pitcher than our current top prospect. Hopefully we can get the deal done with arroyo
there is no way in hell the marineers trade for Manny and we wouldnt be getting back enough. I also dont think the padres would trade chris young for David Wells
Its official
id think Glaus would DH, Overbay at 1st and Koskie at 3rd. Then they have to get rid of Hillenbrand and/or Hinske for a 2B, OF or maybe a RP
Kevin Youkilis never played first untill last year, where in 9 games he made no errors. He easily could play first. Injuries do worry me but i think hed be a great #5 hitter behind Manny and ortiz. He has 45 hr a year capability
I dont understand why theyd want Orlando Hudson and Miguel Batista for a guy like Glaus and a prospect
curious to know what the sox offered. I think a deal with Wells/Clement/Arroyo, Tony G and adam stern could have worked. Those 3 pitchers are all better SP than Batista. Hudson is better Defensively than Tony G, but not as good hitting. Stern could be their 4th OF
if prior goes anywhere its Baltimore. the Cubs have offered this to the cubs according to mlbtraderumors
The cubs are waiting for a response by the O's. I think any deal with prior will just include the orioles. The three team deal with manny is way to complicated
lowell is one of the best defensive 3B in the league. Hes better defensively than Mueller. Offensively, he has more power, but Mueller has a better AVG and OBP.
whoever leads off will score alot of runs. Loretta will abt 1 or 2, depending on who else we get by the time the season starts. Right now the lineup would probaly be
Loretta
Youk
Ortiz
Manny
Nixon
Lowell
Varitek
Graffinino
Stern...
but theres still alot of time to make improvements
ya, that has nothing to do with Damon. They both may see a decline in RBI, but theyll get the same amount of ptiches they saw last year. The Sox actually have a better 5,6,7 than they did last year. Lowell will put up much better numbers than Millar
hes always been a cocky guy and sometimes ends up saying dumb things because of it. By saying the redsox are dismantling, hes part of the best lineup ever, saying hes the best leadoff hitter in baseball proves how dumb he is
