marte hasnt had much sucess in the minors either. His minor league BA is .274 and he only had 8 hits in 57 AB in the majors last year. He does have some power (62 HR in 400 minor league games) and is good defensively. If the sox got him for Edgar, they could also possibly trade him away for a 1B OR P. Marte's Stats

theres probaly a 5% chance he comes back to the redsox and a 10% chance he signs with the yankees. Hes 43 and wants to spend more time with his family (which live in texas). he played SS at Arizona State and was drafted as a SS. I think he will start at Pawtucket playing either 2B or SS and Machado will play whichever pedroia doesnt play.
