    nice low risk, possbile high reward guy. He had a great year last year with the Padres. 7-1 2.68 ERA 61 IP 18 er 85 K 22 BB hes been a pretty solid RP his career but he has had many injury problems. Last year was the first year in his career he threw 60 innings. If he does get injured, we still have Delcarmen ready. Good move by the Sox.

    The sox should try to get Daisuke Matsuzaka from Japan. The guy is 25 and throws a 98 mph Fastball with a 90 mph "gyroball". If he ever comes to the US, id love to have this guy. Hes also a workhorse as in one game in highschool he threw 250+ pitches in 17 innings. He also pitched 10 innings in his first game out of highschool for Japans Oylmpic Team. He hasnt had any injury problems in the Japanese league so far rotoauthority listed him as the 2nd best FA this year behind Clemens. He probaly wont be coming to America for atleast a couple more years hes also playing in the World Baseball Classic

    The redsox are not the front runner to sign Alex Gonzalez (according to rotoworld, an unidentified team has advanced in front of the Sox in negotiations) and JT Snow is also not likely to come here because of the same reason as Gonzalez. Rudy Seanez and Octavio Dotel are both probaly going to sign within the next few days. Seanez's possibilities are RedSox, Braves and Dodgers Dotel's are RedSox, Mets, Rangers, Yankees and Astros

    Seattle Times is saying the Mariners might throw in Gil Meche along with Reed in a trade for Clement. And the Herald says nothing about Marte going to the Guardians, just maybe Arroyo and Mota.

    Boston.com If they could make the deal for Clement or Arroyo, fine thats a good move. But Marte and Mota are going to be very important this year and Marte has All-Star potential in the future. Id rather Nomar go to the yankees than this to happen

    i have a bad feeling this deal might happen. The clement for reed deal is probaly dead because of the mariners signing of Washburn. I hope someone in the front office realizes how awful this move is, before its to late.

    this trade is ridiculous. No way in hell would the Sox be stupid enough to give away marte for an average CF. Jeremy Reed has more potential and is reportedly easier to get. I like Coco Crisp, but not willing to give up marte for him. If we can give them Arroyo straight up for Crisp, then id make that deal. But i dont no why this is even being talked about. Your setup man and your best prospect for an average CF...AWFUL :rant:

    ESPN a decent move for the cards. They overpayed for a guy coming of shoulder injury. He had an era of 3.94last year and has had only one good season (04). He struggled in Florida as a setupman for Alfonseca. They probaly should have tried to resign Tavarez

    not lester. Maybe Youk and someone else though. He was 4th in the AL in WHIP and 4th in groundouts. He also let up only 3 SB all year and had 6 CS. hes only had one good season though. In 04 and 03 he had 75 walks and 02 he had 83. Last year he got it down to 47,which is pretty good. I would take a look at him, see what theyd be interested in return, but i probaly wouldnt give up a Lester or Pedroia for him.

    ya but he hasnt played a full season in 3 years. From the proposed trades ive read, i agree we should not trade him. Hopefully this year he can get back to playing like he did in 2003.
