  1. thanks reeds college stats his senior year-- .339 avg .433 obp and 19 sb he did tear up the minors with a minor league total batting avg of .337 and obp of .401 and averaged about 15 sb a year
  2. that sounds like the most painfull injury ever
  3. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/ellsbury-jacoby.htm ive been trying to find stats on jeremy reed but all i can find is his MLB stats
  4. i think ellsbury has more potential than reed
  5. Ill got out on a limb and vote for Ellsbury. He's very fast, plays excellent defense, and has shown a great ability to get on base in the minors and college. He also has pretty good gap power. He has the same ability as someone like a Reed but is 2 years younger. In 2 years, Ellsbury will be the same if not better than Reed was last year. He is a great leader and i think he can come pretty much right out of college and help the team (like a Huston Street or Ryan Zimmerman who will probably play this year). Hes 22 which is starting to become about the average age for a good prospect to start playing in the majors. We don't necessarily need a lead off hitter. We just need someone to play good defense and having speed would help. I could see him hitting around .275 in the 9th spot with a .340 obp in his first year. He could also steal 40 bases. Ive heard people say that he might loose confidence if he struggles in the pros, but i think thats all rumor. They dont say this about Craig Hansen. Hes a team leader, who loves the game and will always be very confident in what he does. He was a baseball all-american and his college stats are ridiculous... 7. papelbon also sayd today in the maine today paper that he want to start this year for the sox. http://sports.mainetoday.com/pro/redsox/060110sox.shtml
  8. and his agent is Scott Boras
  9. Some Venuzuelan guy over at RedSoxNation sayd that Abreu went on Venezuelen TV to say that he isnt being traded and would reject a trade. i have no idea what that really means i just tried to translate it.
  10. They are saying the guy is legit and hes announced a bunch of moves before they were publically announced i dont know what to think. Its to confusing.
  11. id rather see trot in RF Michaels in CF and Abreu in LF. Abreu is not a very good fielder.
  12. the globes reporting 2 years at 6.7 mil
  13. Over there they are saying.... Manny, Clement and a prospect (maybe shoppach for Abreu, Michaels and a prospect (maybe Robinson Tejada)
  14. IF that ILoveKruk person over at the philly website is legit, the deal is complete heres what he said at about 7:45 tonight
  15. i wouldnt be suprised to see mota get moved in a deal for a CF. Tavarez is a good signing to help support the bullpen. Tavarez was one of the 10 best free agent relievers available. If you can have, Mota, Seanez, Timlin, Foulke and Tavarez all pitch up to their potential, it would make the best bullpen in baseball.
  16. There saying on their board possibly Burell and Abreu. I hope this is just a joke
  17. That might not be a bad deal Manny and Clement for Abreu and Rollins
  18. we already went through this with the Manny for Miggy deal on the orioles fan site. Theres hopefully no chance this happens. Do u have a link to the site?
  19. Ya, having 3 d. coordinators in 3 years might be tough for the players. I think Pepper Johnson would be a good replacement if Mangini does go.
  20. Gary DiSarcina, Walt Weiss???
  21. Pats D-Coordinator going to be interviewed for Jets head coaching job http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2286640 Mangini's only 34 and has been a corordinator for only 1 year so far. Id be suprised to see him land a head coaching job this year. another article about mangini writen by Michael Smith saying how he should be hired as the jets new coach http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=smith_michael&id=2286638
  22. this is what is see as the best possible lineup so far youk loretta ortiz manny nixon lowell varitek alex gonzalez CF (Matos, Reed, i dont think theres anyone else available)
  23. CAREER OBP 2006 possibility 1. Youk---.376 (in 287 ab's) (in 152 ab's with Pawtucket last year he had an obp of .459) 2. Loretta---.365 2005 1. Damon---.353 2. Renteria---.345
  24. Ive heard him being comapred to Cabrera also but thats wishful thinking. i think he'll be able to put up Morgan Ensberg's 2005 stats consistently. hit around .280 with a .385 obp, around 35 hrs and 125 rbi.
  25. Marcus Vick is killing himself. He has all the talent to be a great football player but he hasnt matured yet. Hes not even close to maturing. Looks like his stocks going to go further down...
