  1. Watching this series is like watching SD Jones versus Hulk Hogan. Sure he'd get his shots in but you knew Hogan would Hulk up at the end and come through
  2. Are you also finding it actually sort of enjoyable to watch the World Series without either of our teams in it? It's like Bizzaro world for me; I'm actually enjoying watching a BASEBALL game rather than get caught up in the whole Yanks-Red Sox thing. Who woulda thunk it, I guess we get so wrapped up in our little war that we sometimes overlook the other things that makes baseball the greatest sport (come April, I'll forget all this and go back to hoping Boston gets blown up )
  3. I for one am not surprised at all. I predicted the Sox would win in 5 games max. Lidge was terrible in the NLCS. The game before he gave up the GW HR to Pujols, he put men on 1st and 3rd with no outs in the 9th. The guy is not Mo. he reminds me more of Armando Benitez. Great regular season guy (pick him for your fantasy squad), but will choke in the playoffs. Before the Series is done, Lidge will give up another HR. He'll either come back with a great regular season next year or fade into obscurity like Mitch Williams after giving up that Series winner to Joe Carter
  4. I cant take Duquette serisouly ever since I saw him almost die from shaking when he was signing Manny to the Red Sox. Those of you who saw the ESPN special know what I'm talking about...would you really want someone like that running your team?
  5. thats it? I think Cashman is getting like a $1.5 Million per year offer from George. I wonder if Theo will break some more chairs when he hears that
  6. The saddest thing in all of this is that 3 of the first 4 starters for games 1 and 2 are ex Yankees. Someone shoot me...if El Duque winds up in long relief in game 2 because the White Sox SP blows chunks, I might consider killing someone (preferrably any of those idiot fat f***s from the Tampa Bay Office
  7. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=sarcasm
  8. I would assume Sizzling's repsonse would that favorite phrase of many red Sox fans "sack up and get a pair". Only pussies allow outside emotions to get in the way of playing their athletic best.
  9. if you were smart enough to bold the last part of the sentence, then you should have bolded the whole thing and you woulda realized what I was really saying. Let me commend you on your ability to emotionally detach your memories of your grandpa as a result of a game a mere 2 hours after seeing his coffin. Does it mean you're an emotionally detached, insensitive, cold-hearted guy who didn't give a rats ass about his grandpa's passing? Of course not, that would be the same approach you took to ARod in your judgement of the way he dealt with the passing of a loved one. BTW, nice move using your grandpa's wake to make a point on a forum to an anonymous stranger over the net. Some might say it trivializes the event, but I won't go there (please remember to bold the whole sentence this time)
  10. I wasn't suprised that Lidge sucked ass like that. he was terrible in game 4, and barely escaped. Only a matter of time before it caught up to him
  11. St Louis is pretty much dead int he water, and I am not impressed with Houston's lineup. Trust me, White Sox will win the Series in 5, 6 at most
  12. If I were a Red Sox fan, I would hate to be lumped in with a comment as insensitive as that. He didnt use it as an excuse, nor did he tell anyone about it. Thank you though for adding in your comments. I'm sure all of us who have lost loved ones will be glad to know that we should ALWAYS respond by going back to our daily routine even though we didn't have a chance to bury them. well done. and BTW, if the guy was like a father to him, then I highly doubt he WASN'T thinking of him all day. Most people in that situation would be thinking about them for avery long time. Unlike you, I won't come out and asusme anything about you by saying that you probably have never lost a loved one (not relative, loved one), but you sure sound like it.
  13. what a shock, Grady goes to the NL LOL
  14. heh Red Sox fans and Yankee fans are like Democrats and Republicans. We'll heckle the crap out of each other, but any Independent who tries to rain on our parade is gonna hear it. ChitownSox77 is like the Ross Perot of this board.
  15. Hideki Matsui has insinuated that he won't come back if Torre isn't here. f*** you Steinbrenner and your little general act. Go back in hiding and let Stick build another championship dynasty, while you shut the f*** up and sign the checks and keep your Tamp Bay retards out of running baseball business
  16. Just be glad that the Umps union got broken, or they would be even worse.
  17. damn, and I was really coping well by focusing my hatred on ARod, now I gotta find another venue for my frustrations. Maybe Red Sox fans can give me a few pointers =P Ahhh who am I kidding, I been dealing with this BS for the last 4 years, you'd think I would be better at it by now
  18. All I know is I haven't seen this kind of consistent pitching performance by a team in 17 years of following baseball. back to back to back to back complete games are unheard of in the regular season, and yet here they are doing it in the playoffs. Unreal, is there any doubt who's winning the World Series this year?
  19. ARod for Manny? LOL...wait
  20. I'm following football now. note, Steinbrenner's act and the Tampa Bay office bs is really turning me off lately.
  21. Everytime one of my teams lose in the playoffs, I take a moratorium from sports for around a week if possible. This includes all newspapers, all websites, chat rooms, etc. After last year's ALCS debacle, I avoided all sports related things for about a month.
  22. If you were from NY, you would know that Contreras got messed up by Billy Connors who is part of the Tampa Bay office which knows nothign about baseball but does kiss as to George. Jeff Weaver is the same thing, Mel works with these guys, then Tampa Bay front office decides to send em down for special training by Billy Connors who, despite all his supposed credentials, the fat bastard has never advanced higher than bullpen coach in the majors.
  23. ugh Kerrigan? Why don't they just hire Sveum to be the 3rd base coach also. and make Grady Little the new hitting coach. f***ing George and his ******** Alpha male act
  24. ESPN is speculating that the Yankees would trade for Manny in a 3 way deal possibly involving Matsui. I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing in all honesty.
  25. the award is for REGULAR season MVP. and yes, ARod forgot to show up for the postseason. yuck
