  1. Hey this is a forum, not an Instant Messaging conversation, please use complete words like no one and why instead of what you used.
  2. Thank God, a future All-Star and a Lights-Out Reliever for a Future All-Star CF didn't seem fair to me. We should get a B+ prospect and a Reliever with a ERA under 3.50.
  3. Yeah Alantana and Charlotte are going to be good in a couple years with their young talent, if Charlotte's players can get healthly:thumbdown Damn David Stern not giving us another roster spot.
  4. Oh, this trade sucks then!
  5. Yes, I can live with this trade because Crisp is improving every year, and we also get a middle reliever, either Arthur Rhodes (2.08 ERA, 43 Ks in 43 Innings) or Rafeal Benatcourt(2.79 ERA 73 Ks in 67 innings) and a prospect(Don't know about who it is, someone can enlighten me) We get an improving OF who can move to LF or RF once Ellsbury comes up, a relibable bullpen guys because Mota was still a shaky guy coming off elbow immflammation, and hopefully a good prospect. Alex G, is like Cora, but much better with the bat, hitting 18 HRs and 23 HRs in 2003 and 2004 with solid defense, that's what you want out of your 9th hitter, just like the White Sox had with Juan Uribe. I like this, but who is the prospect?
  6. Go UNC!!!!!! Hansbrough for ACC Freshman of the Year and College Freshman of the Year! The guy is a beast!
  7. That's a rip-off for us, they'd have to add John Patterson or a top prospect to get that done. Arroyo is a proven starter and Church wasn't ROY talk this year. We'd have to get much more.
  8. I agree, Crisp is not good in the leadoff spot which is what we need, I'd much rather have Sizemore and have Cleveland drop a the prospect to get him.
  9. I think there's a "Domican Influence" on every MLB team.
  10. WOW another guy that likes Soriano.
  11. Truthfully, I think if the price is to much for a good SS or a CF we should use Harris as the everyday player for one of them. He's fast, and when he's been given an oppurtunity, he's manged about a .343 OBP, and with a great hitting coach that can improve to around .360-.370. Plus he's fast.
  12. I would looooove to get Johnny Gomes.
  13. I like that trade, but I also like the idea of moving Griffey to RF to help him not be more injury prone and still getting Reed to play CF. Then if Griffey has a great year and a lot of trade value, or Manny wants to be traded again, we can move up Ellsbury to play LF or RF, keep Manny/Griffey, and have Reed playing CF. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Griffey has 2 more years left on his contract, and Manny has 3?
  14. lol, Pretty ironic to suspend the Player's Association President
  15. Yeah, but I'm sure the Cards will want top prospects for him.
  16. Wow, Trot is making a pretty good rebound, and Shoppach has 17 HRs.
  17. All the Japanese people have the same last name.
  18. I agree with Keepthefaith on leting Youk start the season as the leadoff hitter, I mean they don't call him the Greek God of Walks for nothing. I also hope the Cards won't ask for Lester, Paps, Marte, Pedrioa, or Ellsbury. I truthfully don't see Edmonds coming here.
  19. Could he hit leadoff?
  20. Schillingouttheks, did Yankeehater213 buy the farm?
  21. The truth is that we need to fill our gaping holes at SS, CF, and a leadoff hitter. My opinion is that we trade one Clement and Cash for Jeremy Reed, because he's a proven defensive player and will be a great hitter as well. After that we fill David Well's trade demand and spin him off to the Dodgers for JD Drew and Cash, because he's a great hitter and we can put him in LF to protect him from injury. True the the Dodgers broke off talks with the Sox for Wells, but if we can take the vast majority of the 4 years/44 million they have, maybe 4 years/36-40 million, I'm sure they'll start talking again. Then we make a major blockbuster if all these rumors are true, here it is; Phillies Get: Bronson Arroyo-P Manny-LF Trot Nixon-RF Lenny DiNardo-P Boston Gets: Robinson Tejada-P Bobby Abreu-RF Jimmy Rollins(we'll have him for 5 years during his prime)-SS Boston's Lineup Rollins-SS Loretta-2b Abreu-RF Ortiz-DH Drew-LF Lowell-3b Tek-C Youk/Snow-1b Reed-CF Beckett Wake Schilling Tejada Paps Foulke-CL Mota-SU/MR Seanz-SU/MR Taveraz-SU/MR Timlin-MR Hansen/Declarman-MR Lester-Long Reliever, Lefty out of Pen Cora/Graff-2b/SS(add one of them to the trades to get them done) Marte-3b/1b Stern-4th OF Ellsbury-4 OF Flathery/Shoppach-C Good and Young
  22. What does Manny wife look like? Just curious, lol
  23. Red Sox will keep trying to move Manny By JIMMY GOLEN, AP Sports Writer January 12, 2006 BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Red Sox will keep trying to trade slugger Manny Ramirez even though talks with the Baltimore Orioles appear to have stalled. Ramirez, the only World Series MVP in franchise history, has never been comfortable in Boston since signing an eight-year, $160-million contract five years ago. He has asked several times for a trade, and the team said it would try to find a deal it likes this winter. "I think Manny knows that we have made a good faith effort to meet his ... request," co-general manager Jed Hoyer said Thursday night before the annual dinner hosted by the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. "We haven't found a deal that works for us. I know that he is happy that we've talked to teams and shown a good-faith effort to trade him." The Red Sox had talked to the New York Mets, then turned their attention to the Orioles when shortstop Miguel Tejada asked them to trade him. But Tejada then said he would stay in Baltimore, and Ramirez reportedly said he would stay in Boston. "To hold onto Manny's bat in the lineup, I'm glad he decided to stay," said Tim Wakefield, who won the Red Sox Pitcher of the Year Award. But Wakefield bade farewell to first baseman Kevin Millar, the clubhouse cutup who agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. "Kevin will be missed," Wakefield said. "He was the guy that always kept things light and humorous and funny. Baltimore is getting a pretty good hitter and a great teammate, a guy that makes things fun." Trade talks also continue for lefty David Wells, who asked to go to a team closer to his West Coast home. Hoyer also said the team will bring in a center fielder from outside the organization to replace Johnny Damon, who signed with the New York Yankees. "We're making a lot of phone calls and we're working towards it," he said. "We have a list of guys we're going after and we're going after them hard and I think we're very confident we'll have a very good center fielder in 2006." Hoyer said he has gotten good reports on both righty Curt Schilling and closer Keith Foulke, two stars of World Series run who struggled last season with injuries. Foulke will start the season as the closer, Hoyer said. The team is prepared to go with Alex Cora at shortstop, and prospect Dustin Pedroia backing him up, if necessary. "The season doesn't start for quite a while, and I think there's a lot of teams with openings right now and there's a lot of talk right now," Hoyer said. "The fans want a good leadoff hitter and a good center fielder. I think that's what we're trying to give them. We're not just trying to fill holes as quickly as possible to talk them off the bridge." http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AjTi_yMCSzorPtK9BMUc.H8RvLYF?slug=ap-redsox-ramirez&prov=ap&type=lgns
