  1. konkero this konkero that i don't like him...he'll cost too much money and he's usally a homer or K guy...i say we trade two of our really good propsects or, maybe one great prospect for a mlb ready, young firstbaseman in chad tracey(.299, 24 HRs, 54 RBIs) whoses making 335K this year
  2. my bad about lackey...it was jarrod washburn :thumbdown sorry jeff suppan is a good alternative(3.54 ERA, 15-10)...with a dh he won't have to worry about his baserunning i like dmitri as our 1B and what about harang and tracy? would you trade for them?
  3. look, i'm tired of all this aj burnett as being the best pitcher out there and konkero being the best hitter out there...there are plenty more LOW PRICE-HIGH UPSIDE guys that wouldn't cost a whole lot of money...with the money we save, we could sign more players and resign certain ones..here are some of them and if you disagree with me just post why: pitchers: john lackey: 12-5, 3.30 ERA, 180Ks, making 440k this year esteban loazia: 11-10, 3.79 ERA, making 2.9 million this year matt morris: 14-8, 4.10 ERA, making 2.5 million this year bullpen guys bob wickman(personal favorite): 2.73 ERA, 41 saves, making 2.7 million this year kyle farnsworth: 2.03 ERA, 13 saves, making 1.9 million this year al reyes: 2.38 ERA, 3-2, 3 save, making 440k this year julian tavarez: 3.15 ERA, 2-3, 4 saves, making 2.6 million this year batters: dmitri young: .270 BA, 21 HRs, 70 RBIs, making 8 million these are the guys i like to sign, and there's only one sort of pricey guy..most of these guy's "big bucks" are 3-6 million..much better than 1 guy thats 10 million these are some players i would like to get in a trade..maybe one of good prospects or someone on the roster for next year; adam harang: Reds, 3.54 ERA, can throw high 90s, making 440K, 27 years old- good pitching prospect chad tracey: D-backs(with troy glaus and tony clark getting 1B and 3B, i'm sure he'll want some more playing time) .292 BA...1B/3B/OF...21 HRs...54 RBIs, making 335K, 25 years old- good hitting prospect come on fellow sox fans..see the light and save some money
  4. yeah he's got a 12 game hitting streak
  5. we could switch it by having ortiz at 1st and dmitri DH...or if that doesn't work out you could try to play young at first and if he sucks at it try to trade him for someone who can
  6. booo! whats up with all this talk about these expensive first basemen? if you spend all your free agent money on a superstar first baseman, how are we going to get what else we need? i like dmitri young as our first baseman in 2006...his BA is .270, 21 homers, 71 RBIs...thats just as good as anybody out there, plus he'll be no where near the price of konerko and huff
  7. i still like the wickester(bob wickman) as my closer and get his left handed teamate scott saubreck to replace mike myers...clevelend doesn't have the best bullpen ERA for nothing
  8. oh yeah the wickester is a free agent at the end of the year....35 saves sounds like a keeper to me...man if we had him, wells, and dmitri, we'd have a rather large, but great team
  9. awww come on where's the love for dmitri young? .270, 21 homers, 70 RBIs....thats better than what huff is doing and almost as good as konkero
  10. heck if dmitri young declines his team option i've love to see him in a boston uniform...i mean he's fat, but the guy can hit...he'd be much cheaper then huff or konkero...and what's all this talk about burnett? he's not the only great pitcher out there...some good, cheap ones are matt morris, esteban loazia, jarrod washburn, and brian molher...all with ERAs less then 4 oh yeh-SHUT UP JOHNNY BOY :harhar:
  11. ha ha johnny boy...your such a idiot :harhar:
  12. johnny boy--some words of wisdom: SHUT UP AND LET VARITEK DO WHAT HE'S DOING RIGHT NOW-that be good
  13. http://www.funpic.hu/swf/numanuma.html
  14. good pitchers?duh they certainly are, but wakefield and wells are 43 and 42 years old...of course wakefield only throws it about 80mph best...but why don't you call pitchs while trying getting a 40+ pitcher to throw a complete game against a major league team?
  15. POKEY!!! what happened to all the love for tony g?
  16. are you going to bash on varitek's ability to call pitches? my god man...wells is coming of a complete game...clement is 13-3 and wakefield is 14-10...papolbon was great in his first 2 starts, giving up 1-2 runs in each one...that wasn't all the rookie though, varitek had something do with it... and boston has the 2nd best record in the american league...don't bash on varitek dumb ass and go take your sorry posts on the yankee forum :harhar:
  17. yeah and all the hype about aaron small and shawn chacon...they haven't even been in the playoffs ever
  18. i think boston has a pretty good trio of pitchers for the post season, 2 of them with lots of post season experience...even though they're ERAs are between 4-4.5, they all have good winning records...clement is one of them, he's 13-3, on pace to go 15-4...wakefield is another one, with a 14-10 record on pace to go 17-12, 17 wins...thats pretty good...and wells, he's 12-6 on pace to go 14-7...his ERA is also dropping every start now...with those 3 pitchers, hopefully schilling returning to form, an OK bullpen, and the best offense in the MLB...boston could go pretty far in the post season this year
  19. in 2 starts vs. 2 of the worst teams in the MLBs (but tampa bay has a potent lineup) schilling has not been schilling...except for those 5 shutouts innings he threw against tampa bay after giving up 5 in the first 2 innings... i certainly hope that he can come back to schilling form and continue his 5 inning shut out he has going on...oh yeah by the way his next start is against the white sox...best of luck schilling
