  1. i'm pulling for the astros because the white sox stole the series against the angels:rant:
  2. i can't believed boston didn't go after mazzone...i mean he's clearly the best pitching coach ever in my opinion..he makes your pitchers better and boston needed that..someone to guide their young pitchers and that person was mazzone...boston didn't need to sign more pitchers, we needed to make the ones we had better by signing leo mazzone which we missed out on
  3. i like clevelend alot...maybe we could get sizemore and crisp?hafner maybe?jake westbrook?cliff lee? i like a clevlend trade alot...they have alot of great young hitters...my ideal trade would be; Red Sox Get; Travis Hafner Coco Crisp/Grady Sizemore(one of them) Guardians Get: Manny thats a great trade right there...if this is pulled off(which it prolly won't be) the 2006 boston lineup would be Crisp/Sizemore(whoever we get)Crisp would play LF, Sizemore is center Renteria Ortiz Hafner Tek Nixon Rondell White(CF)/Jacque Jones(LF) Tony G Youkilis
  4. i only think we should go to small ball if we trade manny
  5. even the best hitters only get hits 3/10 times, and its much easier if all you have to do is hit a ball to the left side, get a hit, or hit one deep to the warning track...thats about a 6 or 7 out of 10 chance
  6. amen..ozzie gullien's approach to baseball is simple and it gets you places..the white soxs didn't get runs, they manufactured them...by saying that i mean that to get our runs(boston) we count on the long ball and hits getting people in...yes that works, but even if you have a great hitter it only works 3/10 times...that means 7 times you won't get that guy in...the white sox chose a guy(ponsenick)that has a high OBP and can steal...he gets on first, either steals or gets bunted over to 2nd, and if he steals gets bunted to third...now you have a guy that in on 3rd with one out...all you have to do now is hit the ball to the left side of the field, get a hit, or deep in the outfield...sounds easier than trying to score a guy from 2nd with 2 outs to me
  7. i loved the theme..i wonder if apollo will come back from the dead?
  8. if we make any trade this off-season i think it should be with the diamondbacks to get chad tracey(promising young 1b/3b/OF) and maybe try to get jose varelde(great bullpen guy)...this would assure us of a great young 1b and another solid bullpen arm...i don't think we need to go after torri hunter or trade manny...the only guy we need to sign is; well no one really
  9. you have to be crazy if you think that ball hit the ground..i mean come on, it was low, but it was clearly caught...and i guess you didn't watch posenick or whatever his name is get picked off at first by shields and then get thrown out stealing by molina...true the white sox had great pitching in that series but the angels got shaften, bad
  10. i'm just naming a few guys we could get...and check out vlad, the guy can hit;http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/5737/career and its not like we haven't had guys that annoyed the media and clubhouse(manny), personally i don't want to trade him, but if worst comes to worst its kinda what we have to do and not what we want to do
  11. i think if we go after any pitchers this off season they should be leftys because of david wells health...if he gets hurt or traded, we won't have a lefty in our rotation...i think the only pitcher we need to go after is jarrod washburn and only sign him to a 1 year deal with a team option because we would have a great lefty in lester next year
  12. yeah don't they have that shortstop prospect that hit 43 homers or something? maybe we could get vlad out of that trade and some quality pitching(lackey, escobar, donelly)
  13. clearly as all of us have seen the umpires in both leagues have made impacts in both series...with all the bad calls by the umps against the angels and game 4 of the cards/astros when la russa and edmonds both getting ejected, do the umps really play a role in the outcome of a baseball game?
  14. this is a this year trade, soriano is a FA signing next year
  15. yeah the yankees are going to bribe him to death
  16. and we would have to pay some of clemen't salary
  17. i wasn't talking about soriano because he's a FA next year dummy....just any pitchers we get like morris or washburn...duh...and i still think we should go after soriano next year and trade perodia for a bigger hitter
  18. look at both of their career stats...don't give me any bs about what soriano's RISP average was, the fact is he scored 102 runs and batted in 104 this year while being a 30/30 guy...and tracey, this is a no brainer...look at his stats from this year(his 1st full year), batted over .300 with 27 HRs, and 60+ RBIs...he's also young and could be our future 1st baseman for a long time if we just gave some people up(clement and arroyo/abe or paid for some of clement's contract)
  19. just a one year deal to give some time for our prospects to tweak out what they need to
  20. you calling me brainwashed?:wtf: if you'd take howard(a big homer, big K guy) over a all around guy like chad tracey(high BA, 27 homers, 60+RBIs this year) your the brainwashed dummy now
  21. yes i agree...we have great young pitchers in our farm system....i think any pitcher theo goes after should at most only be a one-year deal, with a one year team option while our young guys get ready..i predict all of our young pitchers will be ready anywhere from the 2nd part of next season to the 1st part of the 2007 season...we have great pitching on the way...theres no reason to go out a sign any pitcher to a long term deal
  22. hell no ryan howard isn't going to be traded...they'll save money with howard, and have a young guy too...there is no way howard will be traded...anyway chad tracy is much better...he has a higher BA(.288 as compared to .308), more homers(22 as compared to 27), and less Ks(howard whiffed 100 times in 88 games, tracey only 73 in 145)..true tracey played more games than howard, but tracey is a much better, younger choice
  23. and who would we fire and who would we hire?
