  1. hmmm maybe you have a point yankee fan having a point?
  2. i hope boomer comes back...he's electric is yankee stadium and would be great for those games
  3. whats wrong with it? cameron is a low-BA, high K guy with above average power and speed, Encarnacion batted .287 with 16 homers and 76 RBIs...whats so ludicrous?
  4. my lineup is only if ramirez gets traded
  5. THANK YOU....bout time someone else shows interest in soriano
  6. agreed fully with you on clement!!!trade him for some young hitters... soriano and huff are a legitimate combo to back up ortiz...maybe if we get mike cameron we can trade him and acquir juan encarnation as a OF...i like damon, rent, ortiz, soriano, huff, tek, juan, nixon, youkilis
  7. here's a great trade off for manny; jeo seo wang, heilman, mike cameron, and maybe lasting milledge with a healthy curt schilling coming back, our new great pitcher john papelbon, and jeo seo wang(8-2, 2.59 ERA) we have our selves a excellent 3 man staff right there....wake and boomer(if he doesn't retire, but if he does we could get matt morris or washburn) are my other 2 choices...thats a quality staff right there...trade matt clement for some young, good hitters(hmmm, texas maybe) with heilman, he can be a sp/rp, so if one of our pitchers go down, we got a 6th one and he'll be great in the pen....hopefully keith foulke can come back and be healthy....we can also use our young guns too(dinaro, decarlman, hansen), keep ONE submarnier(bradford or myers), and sign ONE of the following; julian taveraz, al reyes, or kyle farnsworth and use them as a set up man/secondary closer we won't have the most potent line up in the league, but it will definately be right up their..the lineup with manny traded; damon-(resign for 3 years/30 million max) renteria ortiz soriano-(36 homers/102 RBIs/104 runs scored/30 SBs/2 CS) huff tek nixon cameron/juan encarnaction youklis Back Ups matt lecory-1b lenny harris-3b(replace millar as the cheerleader) jeff conie-OF cora/hanley-2b/SS-if cora is too much, let him go, otherwise develop hanley damon is the only guy we really need to resign
  8. yes but he hit 43 doubles, had 36 homers and is very much capable of 40, he even could be a 40/40 guy, slugged a very good .512, scored 102 runs, knocked in 104, stole 30 bases and was only caught stealing twice...tell me thats not hitting material oh yeah and fielding wise he had 21 errors in 1,351 innings...thats only 1 error per 64.3 innings, not too shabby if you ask me..he also turned 101 DPs too ALFONSO SORIANO FOR BOSTON'S NEXT 2b!!!!
  9. well he can't get much worse defensively
  10. face it!!! konkero isn't coming...stop talking about him because he's not going to come...and if we do trade manny, do you really think big papi will be protected with huff as the only home run threat in the line up by resigning tony g as our 2nd baseman? HELL NO!!! say thank you for the great 2005 year and forget about him(no offense to tony g)...soriano(was GREAT under pressure in new york) and huff are the guys that theo should pursue ONLY IF manny is traded...hopefully we can get a good YOUNG pitcher like jeo seo wang, a good BULLPEN guy like heilman, and an above average hitter with some speed in mike cameron...we don't need a veteran pitcher in traschel...we already have schilling and wake to do that....we need to develop our young players by starting youk at third and forgetting about bill mueller...say thank you for your years here and bye....sign ONE good bullpen guy; farnsworth, reyes, or taverez...and sign another good pitcher; morris or washburn......trade matt clement for some good minor league hitting talent(hmmm texas maybe) because we won't need him in our rotation...use the young guys in the pen again; hansen, dinardo,declarman...theo shouldn't have to feel he HAS to resign anybody..he makes the desicions..not damon or anybody else
  11. i meant only one of them since heilman will be included in the manny deal...sign soriano to a 4 year/28 million and huff to 3 year/15 million max...and you still have 8 million left over from manny's contract to get ONE of those bullpen guys
  12. yeah but ortiz, soriano, huff is pretty potent
  13. you want aj burnett, billy wanger, and bj ryan? do you actually think we're going to spend at least 10 million dollars for a freakin' set up man and even if by some wild chance we would do you think BILLY WAGNER...thats right BILLY WAGNER would want to be a set up man? hell no!BJ RYAN!!! same with him...he's at least 5 million a year for freakin' middle relief! way too much... and aj burnett! i'm so freakin tired of hearing his name...he not that good of a pitcher, he's never won more than 12 games and in 7 seasons he's a 3 average ones winning 11,12 and 12 games....what a dumbo...your bullpen is full of high priced egotisical players...it wouldn't work out check out my post
  14. i'm changing my mind bout manny...TRADE HIM!....get some great pitching and a above average hitter(jeo seo wang, heilman, cameron) and sign ALFONSO SORIANO AND AUBERY HUFF AS OUR 4 AND 5 HITTERS...sign either matt morris or jarrod washburn.....sign some quality bullpen guys(al reyes, kyle farnsworth, julian taverez) and some good backups(matt lecroy, jeff conine, lenny harris) thats a good team for next year starting pitching schilling morris/washburn-either/or wong wakefield boomer/papelbon-only if boomer retires bullpen foulke heilman al reyes/julian taverez-either/or farnsworth arryo/papelbon-if boomer doesn't retire, use papelbon as long relief bradford/myers-either/or lineup damon-CF renteria-SS ortiz-DH soriano-2b huff-1b tek-C nixon-RF/LF cameron-RF/LF youkilis-3b back ups lecroy-1b cora/hanley r-either/or...get hanley some MLB playing time-2b/SS conine-OF harris-3b  oh yeah red sox 2006 http://www.funpic.hu/swf/numanuma.html
  15. i think konkero will cost too much and we'd get a much better production with trading manny for pitching and signing huff and soriano as our 4 and 5 hitters...think bout it ortiz soriano huff now thats a middle lineup to be reckon with http://www.funpic.hu/swf/numanuma.html
  16. he's a sub-.500 career pitcher with a career ERA of 4.23 and he's 35 years old....i don't like him and we could get a much better pitcher than him...a younger one too
  17. hey! getting swept by the white sox has taught us something here...the best pitching OWNS the best hitting...lets say we trade manny to the mets for a excellent pitcher, not some injury prone geezer like steve trashcel, i mean like jeo seo wong, above average hitter and an above average bullpen guy...this way we'll save money....and do you have any clue you guys haven't been talking about thats a free agent? ALFONSO SORIANO!!!!!! look at his batting stats! this year he hit 36 homers, drove in 104, scored 102, stole 30 bases, and was only caught stealing 2 times! 2!!!! not too mention we can hopefully acquire huff as our starting first baseman, resign damon...and theres a good backup out now too, matt lecroy(17 homers, 50 RBIs, .260 BA)....theo can also pursue good pitchers like matt morris or jarrod washburn and good bullpen guys like kyle farnsworth, julian taverez, and maybe if he's heathly al reyes...the 2006 boston could look like this; damon renteria ortiz soriano huff tek mike cameron(mets trade, maybe juan encarnaction here playing lf) nixon(i also would like juan encarnaction here maybe) youkilis-its bout time! starting pitchers a HEALTHY schilling jeo seo wang(mets trade) matt morris/jarrod washburn(one or the other) wakefield(great job this year) boomer/papelbon(only if boomer retires, otherwise pitch papelbon) TRADE MATT CLEMENT!!!!! bullpen a HEALTHY foulke-closer farnsworth/heilman(heilman from mets trade, this is either/or)- set up, closer taverez/al reyes-(one or the other) arroyo/papelbon-(long relief/ 6th pitcher-only if papelbon doesn't get in the rotation or a pitcher is hurt or struggling, otherwise trade arryo) bradford/myers-(gotta keep one submariner) timlin-(if he doesn't retire) bench players lecory-(1b) cora/ hanley- (loved cora, but if he costs too much he has got to go, hanley could get mlb ready- (2B/SS) jeff conie-(backup OF) lenny harris-(back up 3b) great pitching, great bullpen, great lineup...i know i have no control over what boston will look like, but if i did this be it
  18. i can't believe this...MLB is going to give a "comeback" player award to a guy admitting, a i said ADMITTING that he used steriods...hard work my ass...i guess those seasons where he was hitting balls out like no body's business were "hard work" seasons too, (shhh...dont tell it was with a little help from jose') what a joke...this award shoulda gone to richie sexson who had more homers(39) and RBIs(121) than the poster boy for steriods..booooooo! :thumbdown http://www.funpic.hu/swf/numanuma.html
  19. there are only a couple of guys that are worth manny's vaule hittingwise ; albert pujols and a-rod...i know we're not gonna get either one of those guys, so i say NO!!! to a manny trade
  20. i think sweet lou, who played for boston in his career, would be a great manger, but if we did replace tito with him...thats kind of dirty, i mean he puts up with alot of crap and led the team to its first world series in 86 years and two 90+ winnning seasonings
  21. truthfully i think he'd be a great manger for the sox...his kind of player is bill mueller; quiet and VERY productive...he wouldn't put up with the antics of players going out and blabbing their mouth to the press...and he can also develop young talent...he did it in seattle with a-rod, big unit, and griffey and definately did it in tampa with jorge cantu, carl crawford, johnny gomes, scott kazmar, aubery huff, i mean the list goes on and on....and since some people bash tito so much on here for being loyal and making crappy decisions and putting up with player's antics, i say let sweet lou be the 2006 manger of the boston red sox
  22. nice stat
  23. i'm just wondering how boston blew a 4 game led? i mean we had the best offense in baseball, 2 pitchers with 15 or more wins, 2 with more than 13 and 14 wins, all our closers had 37 saves all together, not too bad....our bullpen was coming together with all the young guns down there...what happened? :thumbdown
  24. he's a free agent at the end of the season and has raised his average from .161 to .269 in a month with 7 HRs and 25 RBIs ...he was great in boston, and i know we have renteria, but i say bring Nomar back and use Renteria as trade bait this off season...while i'm at it, i would love to have todd walker back in boston again as our 2nd baseman (.305, 12 HRs) that be a another potent line up for next season
  25. i agree, sweet lou has to be one of the best mangers of all time...he's the kind of manger that lets the team know that its HIS team and no one else...plus he won 70 games with a 30 million dollar payroll...thats good managing...truthfully i don't want tito to go, but he's my second choice as the boston manger...i mean look at the team he's leaving behind in tampa bay: Carl Crawford, Julio Lugo, Jorge Cantu, Scott Kazimar, Johnny Gomes, Tobby Hall...those are some pretty good young hitters...oh yeah, he also won 116 games in 1 season
