Cashman just said before yesterday that Hughes was going to be up here for a good period of time. Don't try to brush this off as "oh, he was going back down soon anyways." With how he was pitching yesterday, the Yankees would have been fools to throw that away for someone like Pavano or Igawa. The people in charge of the Yankees conditioning need to be replaced. They obviously have no idea how to handle hamstrings.

A few years ago I was attending a game for the local minor league team and the opposing pitcher was obsessed with the guy on first base. He threw over there like 5 times in between each pitch. After like 10 minutes of it, the park, although it was full, was completely silent. All of a sudden you hear this guy sitting behind home plate scream, "THE BATTER IS OVER HERE." I don't know why, but to this day I laugh about it. I think many of us just kind of ignore it at this point. It's so much easier.
