A few years ago I was attending a game for the local minor league team and the opposing pitcher was obsessed with the guy on first base. He threw over there like 5 times in between each pitch. After like 10 minutes of it, the park, although it was full, was completely silent. All of a sudden you hear this guy sitting behind home plate scream, "THE BATTER IS OVER HERE." I don't know why, but to this day I laugh about it.
I think many of us just kind of ignore it at this point. It's so much easier.
