  1. I played the '06 version of this game once. My 12 year old cousin challenged me to a game and I agreed. He went on to beat me 19 to 1. I haven't picked up a video game controller since that day.
  2. Hughes looks good in pinstripes.
  3. Cashman on the Bernie Williams situation: Said Cashman: "That ship has sailed." He did not sound unhappy to see it go. "Last year was his farewell tour," Cashman said. "A lot of people in this organization would have let him go after 2005, but I brought him back because of who he was and because we had a need." "I'm trying to do this as respectfully as I can," he said. "It's a balancing act between your emotional ties to someone you love and what's best for your team. And whenever you're transitioning to younger players, this is what happens." "We're talking about a role player here, the 25th man on the roster. I know what Bernie Williams meant to this team, but he's not that guy anymore." Article
  4. Did he sell season tickets to Fenway?
  5. I'm really starting to wish we had just traded this guy.
  6. He's not helping his case the way he showed up to spring training.
  7. I think Jeter took a better approach to this when he basically said, "Who cares?"
  8. They probably ride the bus together. (Now, I won't make any reference to how long or short the bus is because that would be a cheap shot. )
  9. He looks like he's in pretty good shape. http://eur.news1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/xp/ap_photo/20070212/all/l2362584.jpg Maybe...just maybe...:dunno:
  10. I know what you mean. I read his comments yesterday and it just didn't sound like Mo.
  11. What is with all these baseball people dying all of a sudden? It seems like a lot have passed away in like the last month. On second thought...it might have something to do with them all being in their 80's and 90's...
  12. I doubt any one is ever going to be unanimous. I guess the logic is if guys like Ruth and Cobb weren't unanimous, then who could be?
  13. I'm only going to list non-Yankees. Lance Berkman, Scott Kazmir, Johann Santana, Rich Harden, Mark Kotsay, Ryan Howard I also do like Ortiz (when the Sox are 10 games out) and I have a strong feeling it's going to be impossible for me to root against Matsuzaka.
  14. Wow, that is horrible. I really don't know what to say.
  15. Yesterday, at Kei Igawa's press conference, Randy Levine said the Yankees would be making some major announcements in the next few weeks about Asia and Japan. I don't know if it's related, but the possibility is certainly interesting. I can only imagine what the response in Japan would be if the Yankees and Sox played one another over there.
  16. Goose is getting close. Just 4 points shy of the 75% mark.
  17. Randy Johnson has been spotted leaving New York. http://nomaas.org/images/randyzona.jpg
  18. When did trading old, declining, expensive players for young players with plenty of potential (especially young pitchers) become a bad thing? ....oh yeah, when the Yankees started doing it. Sorry, I forgot what site I was on for a moment.
  19. Why? Now you can't keep track of how close or how far over 5.00 the Unit's ERA is; you really enjoyed doing that this season.
  20. Definitely. Wang with only 12 wins? Pavano pitching more than 100 innings?:wtf:
  21. Doug Mirabelli
  22. My family doesn't really eat a lot for Christmas. Now, drinking? That's another story.
  23. I don't like this trade. I'd hate seeing Melky leave NY....especially for a bullpen arm.
