This is probably one of the bigger 'What Ifs' of baseball, at least in recent memory.... What if MLB has decided against creating the Wild Card?

The team we're 4 - 6 against, disappeared a few months ago. Last time we faced them, on the eve of their collapse, we swept the two game series.

Oh well, reasons to be optimistic after today: 1) A 5 - 1 road trip isn't something to be dissapointed with. 2) Boston's lead has been cut in half since last Sunday and we didn't lose any ground today. 3) Al Leiter did well today. 4) The team made it interesting at the end, just couldn't get one more big hit. 5) Mariano got another day off. 6) The team is going back to the Bronx (where they've done well all season) to face two struggling teams.
