  1. They keep thinking he won't replicate what he did the previous season. Brewers are going no where's so they are trying to catch lightning in a bottle in hoping those prosepct turn out
  2. That's a very fair offer. Devers is no Arenado or Machado. I wouldn't go too much higher than that. His defense is suspect and he's no speedster around the basepaths.
  3. They finished 29-30 in their last 59 games with a run differential of +11. They limped into the playoffs thanks to their hot start to the season.
  4. I view last year as a fluke as they basically had to come from behind in the very last game of the season to make the last playoff spot. They lose that game they weren't beating Toronto with that crazy offense they had in a one hame play off. Not to mention Kike turned into Babe Ruth for the playoffs. Kike will never duplicate that in his life. Last years Red Sox is basically the version of the Phillies this year. Eventgough they made it that far it doesn't mean they were that great. They just happen to get a hot stretch at the right time. I'll obviously take it as a Sox fan but it was a fluke. That team was so s*** last year down the stretch. You didn't know what you were getting from one week to another
  5. You flat out said Devers is a better hitter than Judge currently and will be in the future. Devers is not a better hitter than Judge. You can't predict that someone will miss games due to injuries. Heck Devers could get a freak injury. You just don't know
  6. You can't be serious, wtf has Devers done to match up what Judge has done? And don't give me this crap that he's still young and will get better. What you see form Devers currently is what you get. Someone who will hit you around 30 dingers a year with an OPS around 850. Meanwhile Judge has finished 2nd in MVP in 2017, 4th in 2021 and most likely to win it this year. It's not even close. Some people on here way evaluate Devers. He is not a 300 Mil player.
  7. Lol yeah that was a no brainer
  8. Same, you can get a SP for that price that will give you a lot more innings and better value.
  9. What a poor decision by the Phillies Manager there. Reminds me of Blake Snell in 2020 against the Dodgers. Wheeler cruising along and gets the quick hook. Alvarez hits better VS lefties but yet all playoffs opposing managers keep bringing lefties to face him. Quite surprising considering the analytics in the game.
  10. Home plate up is atrocious tonight so far. Even Schwarber was walking towards the dugout as he for sure thought he struck out but the ump called it a ball. And he's blown many more since
  11. I like the AAV. I would prefer 2 year shorter. 6 years and bump the AAV a bit. 6 years 180
  12. Yeah quite high. I get the season Verlander just had but no thanks on 41 for him. Degrom is in a class of his own on that one. If there was a crystal ball that would say he wouldn't get injured I would grab him. Reminds me of Pedro in the old days.
  13. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/patriots-spygate-deflategate-bill-belichick-timeline/ovkdjh8ny5qb1fnns9grat5mk
  14. Another chance for Verlander tonight. Will he lay another egg on in the WS or finally deliver. Houston should be up 3-1 in this series. Philly is lucky to be tied at 2
  15. 2004 David Ortiz posted a 1278 OPS
  16. Harper hasn't won and WS either. It's not over yet
  17. And this is why the Sox need to move on from that as they can find a replacement for cheaper. He must be talking to himself too much like he does at the plate to think he's worth 300 million. And if the Sox do indeed meet his demands and give him 300 Million then Bloom needs to be s*** canned.
  18. Again, any player would say that. Otherwise they look like a traitor. We will never know the real truth
  19. Of course he's going say that. Got to make himself look good and not to look like a traitor. Interview person: Hey Mookie would you have sign with the Sox for the same deal? Mookie, no man I wanted to be in LA all along. As if a player would say that ffs.
  20. Hard pass on Devers on 300M contract. He ain't no Machado or Arenado. He's a one dimensional player. He hits and that's it. At least with Machado and Arenado you're getting stellar defense on top of it. I seriously don't get these crazy offers for Devers. Never even been in talks for MVP either. I'm sorry but to throw over 300 Mil contract you best be MVP caliber. He wasn't even the Sox best player last year. Let him play this year out and see what he does. He hasn't impressed me that much to grant a 300 mil contract. He was complete s*** towards the end of the season. And stop the non sense he was hurt. He was playing so couldn't of been that hurt. In 5 years his WAR is 15. Not something that screams 300 million.
  21. 830 ET time start
  22. I don't recall Cabrera making any web gem plays for the red sox that made any impact on that team that year for them winning the world series. They won that with their potent offense along with their pitching. Cabrera ain't the reason they won the world series
  23. If the Phillies happen to win the world series can we really say they were the best team in the league this year? I miss the old playoff format with the 3 division winners and ONE wild card.
  24. I think they only way they retain both is to find a trade for Story. That trade from day one is going to block the Sox to retain both. That signing was a jerk move to show the fans they are spending the money and want to compete. Which contradicted their plans to reset for 2023. Still shaking my head at that signing
  25. I can't believe they are doing in game interviews now. Wait till the game is over ffs
