  1. Xander will definitely be seeking around 225 Mil for sure
  2. I won't
  3. Mets just signed Justin Verlander
  4. The Sox are not getting Correa. If they are getting any SS it's either Bogey or Swanson
  5. Bryan Reynolds requesting a trade. This would be worth a look for a inexpensive option
  6. They do spend a lot for sure but what's the biggest they have given someone? If I'm not mistaken it's Price at 217 Million. After that it goes to 160 for Manny. And that was a very long time ago. I just can't see it . If DD was still here I'd say they might but not with Bloom
  7. If Bogey is gone I don't think they go after Turner or Correa. They will cost more.
  8. Holy crap
  9. Interesting list. How many of these 25 players have a 300+ Million contract that's above him in this list? Don't get me wrong. It's good production to be number 25 since 2018 but based on who is above him is he really a 300 million dollar man? Matt Chapman is above him in this list. Just goes to show you how defense can make an impact. Something Devers lacks of. I want him to stay on the team but there's got to be a limit and IMO it should be below 300. He's going to be a DH sometime down the road. So you have to factor that in.
  10. Players are probably holding out to see who will give the best contract.
  11. I find different site has different WAR numbers. So what one to believe? That's one reason I don't like advance metrics. It's not even accurate amongst the different site
  12. That was his best year for extra base hits
  13. I'm not against it. I'm just saying he's not a 300 Mil player from what I've seen from him so far
  14. Can anyone show me a list of total WAR since 2018 by MLB players. I can't seem to find a chart that I can play with that. I'm curious where Devers stands in this list
  15. Obviously as he had his best year at age 22. He had 90 extra base hits that season. He hasn't sniff that since
  16. Yeah he could of gotten a Monster deal IMO. The dude is consistent season over season
  17. Correct. If Devers goes out this year and pumps out a ridiculous season and is in MVP talks. He will get 350 Mil easily. If he does the same as this past season he's hurting his value in my opinion. When Harper and Stanton had those seasons the GMs were obviously seeing their ceiling but figured they would be close to these numbers. When we look at Devers now, if what we're seeing is his ceiling, a 300 Mil contract would be terrible
  18. If Harper, Stanton didn't have those MVP seasons they wouldn't of gotten the deal they got. You can add Betts to that list. If he had an avg season instead of his MVP season he wouldn't of gotten a 300 Mil contract. When you win MVP it ads significant value when it comes to contract talks
  19. They both won an MVP, something Devers has never sniffed
  20. Stanton got his deal from his Monster season. Just like Harper. Devers has not had a monster season like them. That's the difference.
  21. Devers has not also had seasons like the above.
  22. How so? His numbers are comparable. The only difference is 2 years in age
  23. Let's stop playing the injury game here. If he was that injured he wouldn't of been playing at all considering they were out the playoff picture. Pitchers adjusted to him and gave him nothing to hit. He swung at everything he saw. It wasn't because he was injured.
  24. Or he could easily stay the same. A lot of players don't get better any better during that age range. I mean look at Trout. He's been a beast since he started and he hasn't gotten any better once he hit 27. I said last year to wait and see what he does with his last 2 Arb years and go from there. I still take that stand. This past year didn't help him to get a 300Mil contract IMO. I say let see how this year plays out. Unless they can get him at around 230-240 Mil. Do I have to bring up Matt Olson again? He's a good comp to Devers, in fact I think he's slightly better. He was signed for 8 years at 168. There's a 2 year age gap. Add 2 years and you get 10 at 210 Mil. That's why I say the 225 Mil offer is very good.
  25. I don't understand why people keep saying this. He's still young hasn't hit his ceiling yet. He's been around for 6 years now. 5 full season. How much longer are we going to use this? What you currently see from Devers is what you get. I believe he has hit his ceiling.
