  1. As for Texas...they are a great team and deserve their shot at the nat'l championship, but they're still gonna need to go through the current champ to prove they are for real. I'm sorry but their only impressive win was the one they barely escaped with against Ohio St. Yes, the same OSU that currently is out of the top 10 with 2 losses. Texas will have played against 3 ranked teams to USC's 5? Clearly SC has had one of the tougher schedules for a contending national champion. We'll see if they continue to keep spotting teams halftime leads before it comes back to bite them in the ass.
  2. LMAO! You crying Irish fans and 'SC haters are hilarious. Woulda, coulda, shoulda....bottom line:SCOREBOARD - Leinart, Bush, and Jarret made the plays they had to in order to beat a team that was clearly playing WAY OVER its head and had a legitimate shot at winning. Given ND didn't slip in the polls, it seems the rest of America agreed they deserve respect for their showing against what had been touted as one of the most impressive offensive juggernauts in college football with virtually the same squad that got its head kicked in the last 3 years. As for the missed call on the goal line, don't tell me that NEVER happens in college football (where a player is assisted to a certain degree to pick up extra yardage). Seriously, I have never even seen that called, so I doubt the refs were going to try to end the game on a technicallity. If anything it proved to me they were willing to let the players play, and let them decide the outcome. If ND stacked the box, this whole agruement would be a moot as time might* have run out. Secondly, WTH was up the idiot letting the game clock keep running down when the ball was clearly fumbled out of bounds? I remember screaming at the tv why the clock is still running. But I shouldn't be surprised by that kind of home-call...luckily they added some time left, and gave USC one last opportunity to either win, lose or tie.
  3. lol your well rested ace pitchers were matched pitch for pitch by the overused and tired angel pitchers who just got through a marathon series with new york. that isn't something i'd be bragging about.
  4. Outside of the bad 0-2 pitch to Crede, I'd say the Angel's pitching matched Buehrle's excellent effort. Both teams gave up 1 earned run and game wasn't decided until the bottom of the ninth. However biased you might be, if you're going to give credit to Buehrle, you should also acknowledge strong Angel relievers who (with or without help from ump) shut down your offense for almost the whole game. Consider that alot of people just assumed since the Angels had gotten their split, they were gonna be content to lose this game. Nevertheless, this game was closer than it should have been for a team like Chicago that was well-rested and had more time to prepare. We'll see who momentum favors, but if more rested Chicago doesn't go on to win the pennant against this depleted angel team who may have lost their ace and cy-young winner for the season...well...that's all on you chi-town.
  5. exactly! look i'll give credit to both teams playing their asses off tonight, but to lose on that kind of call (btw, why the f*** didnt Sciocia call a pitchout when Ozuna came in....EVERYONE knew he was going to steal.). pathetic. i know a win is a win, and chicago will take it, but as for karma...well beware chi-town this doesnt come back later in the series to bite you in the ass and u end up gettin screwed. i would have rather have seen them earn it...:thumbdown
  6. that was one of the most BS calls i've ever seen. should paul have thrown the ball to 1B? yeah...but he clearly caught strike three and the ump made the out sign. :wtf: yes these umps have been brutal, but that garrett anderson out does not = that BS call.
  7. speaking as a baseball junkie, im excitied about the series and last nite's win by the halos make it hard not to root for them to overcome losing their ace. considering that both teams are almost mirror images of each other in terms of good pitching + defense + aggressive offense makes the games intense.
  8. if angels can hold on and win, i'd say angels in 6, if they lose, toss up with series going 7 games.
  9. btw, what the hell has gotten into garrett anderson? someone test him for something b/c he's on fire.
  10. 3-0 angels after 2-1/2
  11. "shivers thinking of Vlad in pinstripes"....yeah I had heard that despite not looking forward to coming to ny (not being a ny type of guy), he was willing to sign for the right money. back aside, with his age and production, i would have put money on him.
  12. hahahah and to think you guys had a shot at him for less money before signing that albatross A-Rod. :harhar:
  13. vlad > A-Rod right about now.
  14. lol, its ok, im a sore loser too...
  15. really good series though. ny really played them tough
  16. well looks like pitching + defense > best offense $$ can buy
  17. Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. sorry ny. looks like k-rod is on fire tonight. 3 outs and counting...
  19. k-rod scares me. he has filthy stuff but can lose control and is susceptible to giving up the longball game is still in reach for ny.
  20. anyone think rj is tipping his pitches? the angels are hitting him hard, but right at defense.
  21. so when does joe bring in rivera?
  22. well if boston doesnt want him, im sure a team out west (LA/LAA) does. assuming of course he doesn't go to ny.
  23. if colon had not won 20 games, then i'd say there was a better chance rivera would win it, but for whatever reason 20 wins = almost instant consideration for cy young. i agree that rivera has had a good year, but if i had to put $$ on it, i'd still say colon wins it. the last closer to win it i think was gagne, but that year he had an awesome year. its like for them to consider giving the award to anyone other than a SP, that reliever has to have better than just a good/great year...he needs tro have an outstanding year. sorry rivera.
  24. its raining that bad? dont know who benefits the most with extra day off.
