  1. Dear, you could've scrolled up a couple bars and see that it was posted at least twice. Nevertheless, you just missed the 'e'. No, nothing's final on Gretzky's "coaching status" yet. Coyotes, everyone waiting on Gretzky One would think that they have better things in AZ to be interested in? For anyone who cares, 2005 NHL draft order.
  2. You honestly think Gretzky is going to coach? Who would've guessed that TAMPA, of all places, would win a Stanley Cup. :dunno: The rule changes might be just as crucial to help the game; making it easier for offense, instead of game of trying to score on Goliath.
  3. Now he'll get to play WITH Lemieux. Cool. See Red: Hi Oliver Stone, welcome to the board.
  4. I thought "whoever beats the Yankees" is the #2 team in Red Sox hearts. What does it matter if the Red Sox don't win? I'm not a psychologist, though. Sweet misery this is going to be.
  5. Jeremy Roenick running his mouth and saying how Sidney Crosby has to end up with the New York Rangers to jump start the league again.
  6. Joe Buck is Mr. Monotone, and then he sees the Randy Moss thing and he rants about it for the rest of the telecast. I'm not big on Moss, but I still got a chuckle out of it. Talk about overreaction. Oh yeah, swap personal stories OFF the air, please.
  7. Klap: Boss targeting successor to Mel Probability of this happening, not very high. Most likely a move so he can sign with the Braves for more (just play the Yank card), but Steinbrenner wouldn't mind installing a rocker in the dugout should he come to NY. Wright would likely be better if Mazzone's back. Maybe the entire staff would be better?
  8. According to Kirkjian on SC six-pack question thing, deal isn't happening w/ Seattle unless they lower their asking price (prospects? doling out cash doesn't seem to be that big of a problem) for Winn. Also made it clear that Yankees will not be going anywhere w/ Bernie playing CF everyday. Thanks for the reminder.
  9. *giggles* Welcome!
  10. Hey! Another Midwesterner. Are you by any chance a Jayhawk fan?
  11. LOL, I was joking! The Rangers kinda remind me of the Yankees; they're both horrible at pitching, but have some bat power (when not facing the A's). Go figure that the Yankees score two runs on the night Chan Ho Park is pitching. Wang's not moving; he can't pitch now and plus if he gets better by next seasson (if not sooner, but it sounds bad), there's already spot on next year's rotation.
  12. ^ Yeah I know...he really wants to be in pinstripes again. How about we swap him and Womack? C'mon now Rangers...
  13. More patient at the plate, Obi-Wan will be.
  14. *smiles* Uh-huh...didn't go as far as to say WIN, did I? Busch Stadium locker room walls are still not dry from that last year's champagne. Before moving out, restitution will be made!
  15. Desparation, has set in, on the Yankees front office. Should be very interesting. I still think the SP carries a "highly combustable" warning, until proven consistently, otherwise.
  16. Haha...I love it when people correct that quote!
  17. Some people actually think Oakland are the winners from the Big 3 deal. The A's are 2.5 GB in the AL Wildcard, 6.5 in the AL West division. Only team that doesn't figure to compete for a postseason bid is Seattle. Texas though has pitching holes. So that leaves Anaheim and Oakland, and with Harden, Zito, and the rest of the young staff peaking at the right time, it's looks to be closer than one would've thought a couple weeks back.
  18. Cards have pitching this year! Carpenter's healthy (first to 14 wins), Mulder and Morris and Izzy's been solid. Oh re-match should be much more competitive! Trash talk is a part of sports; definitely part of this rivalry. Athletes aren't known to be well-versed, and unless they say something that is extremely inflammatory - racially, religiously, sexually degrading or something along those lines (*cough* John Rocker), I'd take it with a grain of salt. Or a full Morton can at times. When it rains, it pours.
  19. Sori has indicated that he would love to return to the Yankees - now that Cano's brought up, I don't think that's a feasible option. Oh Monday's game reminds me...he always did hit one of the LOOOONGEST singles seen! That aside, he seems to be a good guy, and I doubt there'll be that outrage shown at A-Rod.
  20. LOL - you got your chance to retract, at least partially, your comments, CHB. Nope? Fine then... Called out on "PTI"
  21. *I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada. Louisiana Purchase, Part 2: Invasion of Canada. Has a certain ring to it, dontcha think? Nah, I think it would be too cold for Steinbrenner. *That'd be Britney Spears who should brush up on her geography.
  22. It sounds like it's not a medical condition - but a problem with the team. But to quit pitching, period, bottom line - he had a rubber arm. Players say a lot of things in the heat of the moment...whatever it is, it shouldn't stop his pitching career. DJimd: If this race gets ugly - don't put it past Steinbrenner to acquire anyone, ANYONE, regardless of previous affiliations.
  23. NO. NO. *screams* NOOOOO. If he's mediocre at best in the NL, chances are he'd get rocked in the AL. Then again, I don't know if Cashman is scouring the NL for "washed-up" pitchers in the NL to bring to the Bronx. Lightening in a bottle, part deux. :dunno: Anyone keep track as to how many different starting pitchers the Yankees have used? It was 11 last time I checked, but might've gone up. Oh my gosh - just saw this - Livan Hernandez is DONE with his career? Very weird. That guy was an innings eater. Bullpen pretty much had a day off...Hernandez would hypothetically make a better fit than Lowe.
  24. Suck-up. I agree, I agree!
  25. laffff? Is the Gizgoogle for laugh? Or...wha?? 2nd half - I am horrible at slang. 3-0 in the top of the 9th - that whole staff is full of studs. OOH! Huston's warming up in the bullpen! *giggles excitedly* *breathes* Yeah, I'm ok.
