  1. Gee I dont understand any of those words Mr. English ... but my names Frank .... does that count? Dude everyone thinks you're a tool.
  2. So ya how bout that gambling scandel ...
  3. Although I'd like to have a lefty who can throw an inning or two ... I'd rather have a lefty who I knew could get 1, or 2 lefties out almost every time. I'll take quality over quantity with a lefty reliever.
  4. PITT has the best winning percentage of any team in the big east since moving into the Pete, as we call it. Yes even better than UConn.
  5. Theres a movie I've seen more times than I can count. I'll second that one.
  6. Yes I'm pretty sure that was snapped last year around mid season. The Zoo is forreal and it's one of the harder places to play in college hoops. Listen for Dicky V to slob all over the animals there tonight.
  7. I think we need a thread completely based on gambling.
  8. I don't really get that. What does me having a picture of one of my favorite football players of all time, holding the thing he worked for his entire life, have to do with sucking balls. If you look at any of the comments I've made about the NFL since coming here ... I'd say I'm pretty unbiased. Aside from the one post after the Super Bowl where rather than argue I just called the Waaaaaahmbulance. Keyword there is knowledgable, and the problem is that 9/10 Yankee fans are not. They grow up thinking the Yankees are the greatest s*** ever, and never bother actually doing any research to find out if they are. Like we've all said before there are a few Yankee fans here that are fair and unbiased ... but then a few that completely talk out of their asses, and only post so that they can suck some Yankee dick.
  9. I hope your right as I'd love to have a healthy Schilling and Wells going into the playoffs, but I just can't see him coming back.
  10. Pitt is a completely different team at home. While they're very physical on the road it's a whole new ballgame when teams come to the Zoo. I agree that 6 points is high, but as long as Pitt is commited to defense, and Krauser doesn't try to do too much, they'll cover.
  11. Replacement level is the *expected* level of performance the average team can obtain if it needs to replace a starting player at minimal cost. Individual replacements can perform above or below the expected level, but that does not change what the expectation was at the time of the decision. Specific teams may have better-than replacement level players available in their own systems. This does not change the concept of replacement level -- it shows that team context is important when evaluating particular decisions. If *all* teams had better-than replacement-level players easily available, then that would indicate that your level is set too low. EDIT: DAMN YOU ORS
  12. I've seen risky business but can't claim a remember a damn thing about it. BTW I wasn't questioning how hot she used to be ... just how the board has gone from kiddies to adults in the last few weeks.
  13. I guess I could buy that, but there are plenty of limbs we can go out on with things that may actually happen. To me this is totally a non story, and there's nothing to discuss.
  14. You think you can teach the other Yankee fans around here what it's like to think without a pair of Yankee balls in your mouth?
  15. It actually has nothing to do with who is replacing them ... if I understand the stat properly.
  16. I dont think we'll have the chance to keep him. I believe if he's not traded he'd retire before returning to Fenway.
  17. Yeah lets pretend that NY has never hyped up a FA signing, just to have it blow up in their faces
  18. Good luck trying to convince Wells to stay. You should probably start the convincing ... now.
  19. is there a Yankee dick you wont suck?
  20. I went from one of the older members on the board ... to a child. ............. Rebecca Demornay ........ jesus christ.
  21. Rivernator ... you have 0 credibility here as we've all seen you talk out of your ass about every memeber of the Red Sox, and Yankees. Just stop posting because everything you say from now until the end of time will be disputed and discredited.
  22. Well you're talking about how the Yankee farm system is growing and developing itself but it's not. It's just developing talent to a point, like it has for years, just to trade them away. You're right ... I really struggle with abstract thought ..... especially when it's the Yankees, and they've done the same thing for as long as I can remember. While some teams may have been interested in some of the Yankee prospects they probably weren't able to offer enough for the Yankees to bite. Don't just assume Cashman didn't make the deal because he's growing the system ... maybe he just couldn't get enough.
  23. I really fear a Yankee farm system that's traded away every major prospect they've had for the last decade. Don't pretend like all the sudden the Yankees are going to worry about their farm system. The only reason the Yankees are still developing these prospects is so they can trade them for a 30 something when they're ready.
  24. I was just saying Rents fits the mold better than Loretta. I didn't say I'd take him over Loretta, but if your looking for a prototype 2 hitter, Rents is the better option.
  25. ... what sense does that make? Should the arbitrator have given the Stros a discount? I dont really understand that last statement.
