  1. Well judging by the reports from spring training so far, it looks like theres a chance for that. Wells won't be here when the season starts, and if he is I expect him to do worse than last year. Simply because he'll be unhappy, and unhappy athletes don't perform as well as they should. Hammer's MO his entire career is that he's a first half pitcher. You're basically asking for him to do something he's never done before. Done and done. Josh has no health concerns and not having to pitch in FLA will eliminate his blister problem. I think this year will be the best year of his career. He is my preseason Cy Young winner. I hope he pitches like he did the majority of last year ... but I hope I never have to see the Wakefield we saw when Belli went down, again. I think even if all those pitchers fall in place the way you want them to it's still not going to be easy. The Blue Jays are much improved and of course there's always the douche bags in the pinstripes. Beckett and Schilling could combined for 50 wins and I still don't think it'd be easy to win the East.
  2. Yeah I couldn't agree more. The only spot he could possibly fill is the 4th OFer role ... which would be insane because of his price tag ... and also, he said he wont play the OF. If we did end up getting him I assume he'd have to play 2B, which means we'd have to move Loretta, which also means Dustin would now be blocked by a young 2B ... as opposed to an old one in Loretta. So unless we're just getting Soriono to trade him I don't understand the move.
  3. Mods ... you gonna put an end to this tonight?
  4. Yeah maybe this year, but they'll be better for next year. If getting to the playoffs as the 8 seed if your lucky and being 1 and done even if you do make it is your goal then ya Kobe should be shooting. But if you want to build a team that can actually win championships he can't shoot that much.
  5. That right there makes no sense.
  6. that doesn't even make sense.
  7. OK now it's outside Fights and Crap and it's ruining a topic ... :banned:
  8. Well then he should have got more when he signed his contract, or not signed it. If you give TO what he wants then that makes every player think they can get a new contract every year, and guess what? In a few years ... owners don't have enough money to pay their players because they're demanding a new contract after every game, and the league folds.
  9. Yeah but the problem with all his shooting is that no one on the team can possibly get better if they don't get the ball, so as long as Kobe wants to shoot 60 times a game ... his team is going to suck.
  10. Welcome.
  11. Anyone who thinks Nova is better than UConn is kidding themselves, and yes I would have said that before they beat Nova today, and right after Nova beat them. The only team in the country better than UConn is Duke, and even as a diehard Duke fan I don't feel totally comfortable saying that. Nova does have a good chance no matter what seed they get in the tourney because it's all about guard play in the tourney and Nova is all about guard play. If the brackets are set up right Duke and UConn will meet in the championship. BTW I'm up for doing brackets on yahoo, or where ever.
  12. He's not underrated. He was one of the top 10 fantasy players according to MLB.com. Both drafts I've done so far he's gone top 10. Wednesday, March 15th at 8pm EST is fine ... 9 or 10 is also fine.
  13. When did I make myself out to be a high roller? People who feel the need to prove that they're fans, aren't really fans.
  14. Gee I wish we had a pitcher to throw at our own hitters ... RJ might think it's funny by 1 ball slips and hits damon in the face and ends his season. That being said I'm all for RJ throwing at everyone in a Yankee uniform.
  15. I believe the answer to that question is ... every single year.
  16. Wasn't my cheap shot. I was wondering the same thing, and like I said it's the first thing I thought of.
  17. WOW! Did a Yankee fan just say that? Did 26 to 6 ... the guy that sucks every Yankee prospects dick ... say that?
  18. You could say that about A LOT of players.
  19. 26 to 6 ... I'm not gonna argue about your pitching staff anymore, but dont you go running away when you're pitching staff is the reason the Yankees DONT win the WS.
  20. There have be a number of players in the past that have lied about their age. Alfonso Soriono most recently if I'm not mistaken.
  21. First thing that came to mind is that he's calling her a dyke. As the rainbow is the gay flag.
  22. Plus, at the end of the season players are worn down, and most have atleast minor injuries. If you think a lot of players pulled out this year ... just imagine how many would pull out if they had to play after the season.
  23. Wang is coming off an arm injury ... Paps is not. Edge: Red Sox Your going to tell me that in half a season Chacon has shown you more than Wakefield has in his entire career. Yeah OK. I think I'll take the guy who has proven he can get it done for more than 80 some games. Pavano isn't going to be healthy for the start of the season. Even when he's healthy he'll just get hurt again. Plus, doesn't anyone remember he said he doesn't want to be a Yankee anymore? Edge: Red Sox 4-0-1 Red Sox
  24. A good shot, but even if he breaks it Pujols will be coming up right behind him to break it.
  25. At 26 he'll probably just be coming into his prime this year, or next. He's already averaging 40 HRs a year.
