very easy picks all-around and a playoff bullpen of Wakefield, Bradford, Myers, Hansen, Papelbon, Gonzalez, Timlin and Foulke doesn't look too bad at all
when has Millar not put the team first? It pisses me off to hear people say "oh wow, I figured he would bitch about this". He's always been a great team guy and yea he hasn't had the greatest of seasons but he's a big part of the personality of this team
nah, Papelbon has pitched relief with the PawSox, hasn't gone too deep with the big club and was starting to wear down a little bit. Tito made the right move but I would love to see Papelbon stay in the rotation
I like him too but he is a free agent after this year and depending on how much money he's looking for, they might need Papelbon to replace him in the rotation
I don't like it. Timlin should be reliable as a closer but he's so damn good as a setup man. I'd put Papelbon as the closer but if Wells is indeed gonna be suspended 6 games, Papelbon is gonna stay in the rotation
yea but maybe his shoulder needed the rest, he has proven to be a good starter in the past. I wouldn't put him in in a close game but then again, as I'm typing this, if there is a guy in the bullpen who you're worried about putting in a close game, then he shouldn't be there so I don't think it would be a bad idea to DL him for the rest of the year
It's too bad Bellhorn has had the year he's been having but he should be remembered for the great things he did last year and the key role he played last year. Unfortunately, it's Theo's job to put the best team out there and right now, Graffanino over Bellhorn at second base is the best choice for the team.
that's a little unfair to Damon and Mueller. Mueller has a .292 career average so I don't see why him hitting .296 is considered out of the ordinary. Even Damon hit .304 last year and actually had 20 homers. His RBIs were also better last year but all in all, I don't buy that theory
I agree that Papelbon should be starter until Foulke is ready to claim the role. I don't think Foulke should be closing as soon as he comes back. Naturally, Remlinger should be DFAed upon Foulke's return.
That being said, the rotation should be Schilling-Wells-Clement-Wakefield-Arroyo
As far as Wade Miller goes, he should be put into the pen as well
