how about factoring what each guy does for morale? Kapler is a guy the entire team likes, is great for morale, was along for the ride last year and is actually a pretty solid player
Jay Payton did nothing but bitch about his playing time since a few weeks into the season and even went as far as confronting Francona in front of the entire team and the public in the dugout
If you're general manager for Team X, then yea, maybe Payton is better talent wise but as far as the Boston Red Sox go, I'd rather have Kapler
and quite frankly, I'm not sure why you had to bring name-calling into this, I clearly have a valid point and factoring in what a guy was batting in a country on the other side of the planet in a situation he was very unhappy in is a pretty lame argument in itself
