    are any of you seriously comfortable with our rotation against playoff teams? what we have is NOTHING close to a 1-2 punch of Schilling and Pedro and even with that, we were 3 outs away from being swept out of the ALCS

    as partial to the sox as I am, that's not a call you overturn... but this is pretty damn entertaining watching Lou bust yet another gasket. should make for some good postgame quotes too Schill had him beat by a millisecond but that is damn close

    the sox need to start getting hot and hopefully a series against a bad team along with a pretty weak schedule coming up can get us started

    I personally don't see being a 2nd putting all that much more strain on Mueller's knees and he's definitely solid enough defensively to handle it. If Youk can hold his end up defensively at 3rd, that would definitely be something they can do permanently next season

    well, say what you want but aside from wakefield, millar was probably the best guy out there for us last night and he has been hitting very well lately

    what a great team guy Mueller is. He's so ridiculously underrated

    Yankees vs. Red Sox is great for baseball. Red Sox becoming the only team ever to come back from an 0-3 deficit to beat their hated rivals is great for baseball. Red Sox finally breaking the most famous curse and championship drought in professional sports is great for baseball. and what's great for baseball is what keeps putting food on Peter Gammons' plate so regardless of whether it's perception or reality, that's the way it is

    if there has to be a scapegoat, it's Francona for not having a pinch-hitter although the only guy he really could have put in was Olerud and then you're stuck with no second baseman if the game goes into extra innings. either way, it worked out that it was Cora in that position and I'm sure Francona knew as well as all of us did that he wasn't the ideal guy there anyway, that would've been Ortiz besides, Damon was one single away from tying the game and he didn't fare any better either

    I think it's more the fact that Boston has been so consistently good over the past several years and in the past 7 years, as far as the division goes, it has been New York and Boston 1 and 2. Also the fact that both teams have produced 2 straight classic ALCSs besides, having the Yankees and Red Sox battle it out every year is easily the best thing the sport has going for it

    Matsui has been different against the Sox since Pedro knocked him down in the ALCS

    it was right before they headed down to Texas I believe. Vasquez was sent down cause Francona wanted to make room in the bullpen for Gonzalez and Cassidy. Vasquez wasn't happy so they shipped him to Cleveland for Cora. it went quite unnoticed

    believe me, I'm there cause I wanna immerse myself and watch a game surrounded by people just like me cause none of my friends a baseball fans and mock the fact that I'm such a big red sox fan
