  1. please, the O's at least were actually leading the division for a good part of the year, the D-Rays have been basement dwellers for god knows how many years now. plus the O's still have 8 games on the D-Rays
  2. if Yankee fans wanna call Curt an ******* and accuse of getting media attention, then they really need to look themselves in the mirror besides, I wonder if they were saying the same thing when Steinbrenner donated a million but thats besides the point, why should anyone be crucified when they're just trying to help people out? like I said in another thread, this has nothing to do with Yankees vs. Red Sox and its pretty pathetic to try and link the rivalry to this tragedy. it's about people helping people
  3. yet incredibly hilarious at the same time
  4. just imagine what a pre-2005 Foulkie can do to this staff provided the solid starting pitching continues...wow...
  5. those pesky D-Rays are at it again
  6. man, 2 CGs in the last 3 games, and Clement went 8 in the game before that this is the kind of September pitching we need to see
  7. ah thats right, my mistake
  8. I was encouraged but I'd like to see a few more appearances like this remember Schilling's last bullpen outing, 2 perfect innings but look how he's performed since
  9. yea, me and my buddy were talking about the Sox fanbase and the Habs fanbase. Both are very similar in terms of knowledge, passion, scrutiny from the media, etc. but I've never seen anything like all the Red Sox caps, jerseys and t-shirts that I saw walking around downtown Boston
  10. So I just returned from my first trip to Boston for the weekend and thus, witnessed my first live Sox game ever and since I know a lot of you here are from the Boston area, I figured you'd like to read about my experience. First off, you guys have a beautiful city, I found it to be a lot like Montreal, where I'm from. Although the city seems like it's one big construction site, everything is nicely within walking distance and the people are very friendly. I didn't have time to check out much but we pretty much hung around the Quincy Market and Washington St. stores during the day. At night, we went to Hooters and then watched the game at The Four's since Sports Illustrated said they were the #1 sports bar in America. I loved it, the memorabilia was awesome and it was a very fun place to have a few drinks and watch several games. Then came today and my first Red Sox game and trip to Fenway Park and I've gotta say, I have memories from this day that will stay with me the rest of my life and I write this now as a bigger Red Sox fan than I was before I left. You read about the passion of the fans and the atmosphere at the park and on Yawkey Way but nothing prepared me for my experience today. It was absolutely everything I ever imagined it could be and more. I went onto the site right as the gates opened and hung around Yawkey Way for about half an hour just soaking everything in. Then we went inside the park and checked out the Sox pitching staff doing long toss and the Orioles BP. I ended up getting Youk's autograph on my program which was a huge thrill. We walked around the park seeing how it looked from every area from behind home plate to the Green Monster seats. Our seats were in the bleachers which probably wasn't the best place to see the game but it was an awesome place to appreciate the atmosphere of being in the heart of Red Sox Nation and being around 35,000 people. Everything was just like I thought it could be right now to the guy yelling at Manny for not hussling enough. Wells pitched great, Sox allowed 1 run for the first time since god knows when and we got our fair share of moments that brought us to our feet. So in closing, I want to thank your city for an incredible weekend that won't be my last but that I won't forget. You have a lot to be thankful for.
  11. im definitely questioning some of the strike calls by this umpire tonight
  12. Red Sox vs. Yankees is strictly a sports-related rivalry, when it comes to things like this, we're all human beings coming together to help other human beings in need, doesn't matter which cap you wear.
  13. quite a night for Olerud indeed nice little sweep of what was a very hot Devil Rays team and gives us a little breathing room in the division. Hopefully we can capitalize on a Orioles team thats spiralling out of control
  14. look, if you're gonna s*** on the guy when he's struggling, then give him credit when he's doing well. he's still going out there when he's given a shot and doing what he can and quite frankly, right now he's the reason the yankees aren't 1/2 a game back right now
  15. Johnny Damon 87% Kevin Millar 83% Manny Ramirez 80% Jason Varitek 63% David Ortiz 60% Curt Schilling 60% Mark Bellhorn 50% Theo Epstein 47%
  16. the way it was sounding with Damon, he'd be out for about a week or something but now it looks like he'll play tomorrow night good, I want him in the lineup when I see my first Sox game live and also my first trip to Fenway on Sunday
  17. anyone catch this yet? "Yet again, Johnny Damon's rugged body is healing fast from an injury. The Boston center fielder was so pleased with the way he felt the morning after being plunked on the left hand by a pitch that he called Red Sox manager Terry Francona and asked to be in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Devil Rays." god I love Johnny
  18. Francona is managing like it's May. We're on the brink of September with the f***ing Yankees breathing down our necks
  19. even if Schilling has a 1-2-3 inning, id love for someone to ask Francona what Schilling did to earn a walk to the mound to start the 3rd
  20. ah, yea. I really don't see why Millar is in the lineup tonight
  21. I really don't know what his problem is. I don't know whether it's his ankle to the fact that it's been a very abnormal season for him, that's what im trying to say Francona obviously thought that he would become the old Curt Schilling by throwing as many pitches as possible but obviously that just hasn't worked what would you say the reason is for his problems?
  22. if Curt comes out for the 3rd, I think I will finally join in on questioning Francona's decision-making
  23. I dont know whether there's a serious problem with Curt ankle or if it's because he's been bounced around from the rotation to the DL to the minors to the bullpen and everywhere in bewteen that his stuff just isn't available this year
  24. there's something wrong with Curt, something very wrong id like to hope that all he needs is a regular off-season with a regular spring training and so he can settle in as a starter normally from the outset of the season
