  1. I like that lineup too, just switch Coco and Lugo
  2. I can definitely live with Ortiz-Manny-Drew in the middle of the order
  3. put it this way, I'll be upset if Drew's role is anything but batting 5th
  4. Texeira is nice but who plays left?
  5. yea, but the one major thing the Sox have going against them every time they wanna trade Manny is that everyone knows he doesn't wanna be here. if/when he gets traded, everyone will be pissed at the value we got in return
  6. If Drew is batting cleanup on opening day, I will be a tornado of anger, swirling about
  7. Manny for Josh Bard and Cla Meredith. HA!
  8. I still say the Sox can't afford not to sign Matsuzaka. the rotation has too many issues
  9. too much money, too many years considering his injury history, I'd love to hear how they justify this but letting Damon walk they probably found an oil reserve under Fenway or something...
  10. I think I just s*** my pants hearing the news on ESPN Radio just now, I'm so friggin' happy
  11. Still a great guy to have around to solidify the back end of the rotation. It's the front end we have to worry about
  12. why in the hell are Yankee fans concerned about their team saving money?
  13. story also leaves out that Buckner had bad knees and shouldn't have been there in the first place
  14. in the 10th round of the 1999 draft, the Sox took Brian Wiese that's the draft where Josh Beckett went 2nd overall and Kyle Snyder went 10th overall Sox first round picks that year were Rick Asadoorian at #17, Brad Baker at #40 and Casey Fossum at #48 and Albert Pujols was the 402nd overall pick
  15. I'm sure most of you have heard by now but for those who haven't, Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle was killed today when the airplane he was piloting crashed into an apartment building in Manhattan. I don't know about you guys, but I was in complete shock when I first heard a plane crashed into a building in NYC but even more shocked when I found out Lidle was the pilot. This is definitely one of those times where it doesn't matter which cap you support, it's a tragedy by all accounts. My thoughts go out to Lidle's family and friends.
  16. No doubt, both the Red Sox and Yankees had very disappointing seasons. The Red Sox had a great start and through a combination of injuries, cold bats and piss-poor pitching, collapsed in the second half finishing in double-digit games behind the Yankees. The Yankees rolled pretty much the entire season overcoming injuries but having the luxury of being able to get a Bobby Abreu as an injury replacement to their outfield. But they took arguably the best hitting lineup in baseball history, scored 14 runs in 4 games and endured another playoff flameout has given rise to criticism from all sides that hasn't been seen in awhile (perhaps since the 2004 Yankees). So the question is, is it easier to be a Red Sox or a Yankees fan right now?
  17. please, you think there's any chance in hell the yankees are gonna let sheffield be in a Boston uniform next year? Theyll pick up his option and trade him to whoever they want, and eat up like 5 mil on his 13 mil option
  18. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES f*** YOU STEINBRENNER
  19. Pedro Martinez is the reason I became a Red Sox fan, a little more respect please and this adam guy isnt a Red Sox fan, he's just here for the Bud Light
  20. why not give him a shot as the 5th starter next year? I'm still waiting for him to give me reasons as a starter why he shouldnt
  21. both look very nice, just the right amount of change
  22. Wakefield is 39 I believe but his arm doesn't have the wear that a typical 39 year old pitcher's does. He would be very valuable to this rotation next year, hopefully as a backend starter though
  23. nice moment with Papi and Lowell going back to back. Gotta enjoy these moments cause its gonna be a lonely winter
