So next year.....are we going to have yet ANOTHER starting SS on opening day? Say what you want about Renteria, or the "weak" hitting Alex Gonzalez.......but I would take either of those players back in a heartbeat.......especially since Lugo has been awful at the plate, and IMO subpar in the field. Stats aside, everytime he fields the ball im expecting him to throw it away....dont know why, just a feeling I get.
As far as Coco Crisp......honestly, he looks like he doesnt belong in professional baseball at this point, and im completely serious. 90 MPH fastballs down the heart of the plate eat him up.....hes late and pops it up. He looks like a highschool kid facing a bige leaguer just trying to make contact. His ABs are painful to watch and I think it is clear that whatever ability he once had......is gone. I cant believe this guy put up good numbers in Cleveland bc he is absolutely lost at the plate. In my time watching the redsox, i cant think of a worse all around hitter in an everyday lineup for the redsox. Even Darren Lewis could hit at least .240..plus play GG OF.
Help me out guys...is there anyone worse than Coco Crisp who has been a regular for the BoSox over the last 10 years? Keep in mind the total package too.....power, eye, contact, strike zone judgement and overall stats. I really cant think of one.
