  1. So next year.....are we going to have yet ANOTHER starting SS on opening day? Say what you want about Renteria, or the "weak" hitting Alex Gonzalez.......but I would take either of those players back in a heartbeat.......especially since Lugo has been awful at the plate, and IMO subpar in the field. Stats aside, everytime he fields the ball im expecting him to throw it away....dont know why, just a feeling I get. As far as Coco Crisp......honestly, he looks like he doesnt belong in professional baseball at this point, and im completely serious. 90 MPH fastballs down the heart of the plate eat him up.....hes late and pops it up. He looks like a highschool kid facing a bige leaguer just trying to make contact. His ABs are painful to watch and I think it is clear that whatever ability he once had......is gone. I cant believe this guy put up good numbers in Cleveland bc he is absolutely lost at the plate. In my time watching the redsox, i cant think of a worse all around hitter in an everyday lineup for the redsox. Even Darren Lewis could hit at least .240..plus play GG OF. Help me out guys...is there anyone worse than Coco Crisp who has been a regular for the BoSox over the last 10 years? Keep in mind the total package too.....power, eye, contact, strike zone judgement and overall stats. I really cant think of one.
  2. Hate his swing and approach....love the results. He just looks like the type of player who should play for the RedSox......solid all the way around. Love the cocky attitude and hard nosed personality he brings too....its not the arrogant cocky flair like arod, its more of the type of attitude that says "im a gamer, and im not going down easy"
  3. OK...tradionally....like every year since basbeall was invented they are the worst division in baseball....but this year, the NL Central seems to be worse. If you put the Orioles or Jays in either one of those divisions you are looking at at least a 3rd place....maybe a second place team. Those teams would get eaten alive in the AL east
  4. Morris could very well pitch well.....you expect him too anyway. IMO Fogg doesnt stand a snowballs chance in hell.
  5. SHHHHHHH....its funnier this way! Foulke was Fastball 90-92, Changeup 82-84 and Slurve,Curve,Slider,Shithouse in the low 80s as well. When Foulkie was on....he had that 10MPH difference between his top two guns....when he lost that, he lost his job, and career.
  6. And be outta baseball at 33 years old.....that means he has like......4.5 years left....he better get to the MLB team real fast!!!!!!
  7. I really dont think this will be a tough test coming up. I think a tough test would be kinda some of the teams weve already went through (anaheim, oakland, cleveland...and yes even the yankees ) The NL just doesnt scare me that much, especially a bunch of soft tossing lefties. They are playing the Rockies and Giants......a real tough test?, come on man...lets be realistic. Even if they throw gems, they will still most likely lose seeing how both teams are under .500 on the season which tells me....in general they just arent very good ballclubs. PLUS they play in the godforsaken NL West. The only guy on either one of those staffs I would consider a "tough" test would have been Linecum since we havent seen him yet and he has that unique throwing motion.
  8. No...but he came out of no where as well correct?
  9. Reminds me of kinda what we saw with Hansack.....in the end though, everything evens out.....the law of averages.
  10. is there anyway we can have all the threads he started removed or moved to F & C??? Its an ugly picture looking at all the dumb ass threads he created.
  11. Id say no. He has never shown me anything that says he can get major league hitters out. I think he was also alot worse than his numbers showed last year....he was pretty awful.
  12. FYI he has opned up 9 new topics...many of which didnt deserve to be opened in the first place....
  13. I signed on tonight to read a few thing from the site, like I do every night....and although I dont post as much as I used too....i have been a member for almost three years now. Doesnt this qualify as spam kinda? Hes littering the board with all his opinions. Hes been sitting at his computer for 4 hours littering this site. He has 1/6 my posts over a 3 year period in a matter of 4 hours......can the mods do anything about this please? --SCM33
  14. At some point Jon Lester will return, and Tavarez will go to the bullpen....could this mean the end for Mike Timlin? Joel Pineiro sucks.....and is worse than Timlin, but I dont see them cutting him with all the money he has on the table. Javier Lopez IMO cannot be optioned out, hes done everything theyve asked and if a valuable arm outta the bullpen.....his value increases because we also have Okajima which means that TIto is better equipped to work righty lefty situations with two lefties down there. Snyder is not going anywhere. I guess Donnelly could be a choice to go, but even though he is hot and cold, hes done a pretty good job so far. I guess what it comes down to is what have you done for me lately, and Mike Timlin really hasnt had any success at all this year. I would like to see him stay, but then again a few years back I wanted Embree to stay, and Theo made the correct move as he floundered in NY as well. I know we will all sit here and say "Joel Pineiro is the one who must go", but im really not sure he goes.....either way, one of them could be playing some of their last games in a Sox uniform in the upcoming weeks.
  15. As much as Ive supported WMP in the past, I think you are wrong. In terms of value, Cincinnati really has gotten the better of the deal. We have no use for WMP and as much as I LOVED the fact we had a big bat coming off the bench, he simply doesnt make enough contact to be a real threat. Gabe Kapler is missed I think. He did things for this team that we all took for granted. Granted he was the most jacked guy in baseball who couldnt hit a flyball outta the infield but he did many things WMP cant do. He played good defense in all 3 OF positions, he had pretty good speed (even though it looked like he was scampering to take a s*** with his upright running style), he didnt swing at awful pitches and get himself out and he made pretty good contact. I suspect at some point they will go after a real utility OF, bc I dont feel good about Hinske or WMP out in the OF. Is backup OF a huge priority at this point? no....but it does need to be adressed.....WMP on this team would look nicer as a 5th OF/DH rather than our everyday backup guy....and when you start talking about a 5th OF/DH type of guy compared to arroyo......id rather have arroyo, espeiclaly considering the money hes making.
  16. Thats why I am sticking with them...its only inevitibale that they start hittting the ball better.
  17. A wins a win though. Hopefully when they need a clutch hit he comes up and gives us an advantage. Its clear the guy is talented, just hit the f***in ball. When he swings lately, he seems indecisive. He has all the talent in the world, stop holding back and swing the way you did earlier this year when everything seemed so effortless.
  18. With the way Timlin threw the ball earlier this year....It really is hard to disagree with that as much as I enjoy Timlin. I think we started to see a decline last year, and he was very hittable early this year. Hopefully that was just his injury talking and he is all set to go, given his age though you really have to wonder.
  19. The next Nomar? Where the hell did you dig that up, or did you just fabricate it? Hes a quality major league player, who busts his ass and had an unfortunate thing happen to him today. As much as I love the RedSox....if I were a player, you couldnt pay me enough money to stay the f*** outta this place with its fanbase.....christ
  20. Dirty no. Do many people in baseball or outside the lines respect the way he plays the game? No Im not sure whats worse....being labeled a dirty player, or having people of all ages inside the game (like HOFs, current players, rookies) and outside the game not respect the way you play the game. Me personally.....you can label me a dirty player all day long, but you will respect the way I play the game.
