  1. Every pitchers MRI looks like s***. Pitching is such an unnatural ,otion for the arm and every time you throw a pitch you are tearing away at muscle and tendons. I had one done after my freshman year in college. My primary said it looked awful and that I should see a specialist. The specialist told me that it was pretty normal for anyone who throws a baseball as much as a pitcher does. That being said, I worried so much about my shoulder that I blew out my elbow instead.

  3. One could argue that the monster actually hurts his production because he sees the f***in thing bearing down on him and gets pull happy and hits hellish linedrives that send 50% of the ballpark in a panic state and arent sure if they are watching a baseball game or playing dodgeball.
  4. You mean Arod, Sheffield, Giambi, Randy, Moose, Pavano dont bring it? tehe Im just kidding, I know exactly what you mean. I hated Paul O'Neil but I also feel he is one of the most underrated players ever. I loved the way that guy played. I thought Trot Nixon would develop in to that type of player, forgetting that you don't just develop that type of instensity with skills simutaneously.
  5. Maybe you should look at Millars career numbers, then if that doesn't satisfy you you could always compare Youks and Millars numbers from this past year. Then take in mind many of us do want Millar on the bench which really says something about Youkilis. Neither one of them hit enough to be in the lineup and playing 1B for the Sox, many of us would just prefer to have Millar on the bench rather than Youk, who you know would bitch and moan. Millar said he would like to return in a reduced role. If only we had him AND Nixon coming off the bench as righty/lefty bench hitters. BTW...Youk does not play OF and was pretty bad out there. As ugly as Millar is in the OF he is serviceable and is capable of playing both LF and RF. Youk was in LF hiding in front of the monster, and was still exposed.
  6. PS. I swear to god rician blast and Mr. Crunchy are the same guy. It is impossible to have two dumbasses who know so little about how to use a computer keyboard or format a paragraph on the same forum agreeing with each other.
  7. Im pretty sure Kevin Millars starting position was 1st base when he played for the Boston RedSox of Boston. It was either that or Shortstop, not quite sure.
  8. Not sure, someone else posted a lineup with him, so I was assuming he was. Either way I like him a lot. Takes a ton of pitches, has a little pop, not terribly slow. I think he is more suited for leadoff than Youk. EDIT: I believe he is. He signed a two year extension in 2004 and was dealt. I beleive he is a FA.
  9. Crespo, I kinda like what I see, assuming Ortiz works on his D game significantly in the offseason. I still dont think they sign Bonds. I can see this: Delucci RF Cab SS Ortiz DH Manny LF Sheffield 1B Pena CF Lowell 3B Varitek C Pedroia 2B Deal Youk Sign Millar for bench duties Let Gonz and Loretta walk Let Nixon walk Bring in another guinea pig or 5 for wakefield Let Machado compete for uitility INF position Deal Crisp, if not hes on the bench and spot start/platoon/match him up
  10. HAHA I know what you mean bro, we rode Millar straight outta town calling for his head and saying how much better Youk would do. We all make mistakes, the funny thing is that besides 700hitter, I havent seen anyone else mention it.
  11. Bat off the bench? Hell he'd be fighting for starting playing time. Youkilis didnt exactly light the world on fire. Millars numbers werent that far off of Youks.
  12. They charge so much for admission because the stadium they play in holds significantly less than other big market teams. In order to bring in these players they must charge more per person to even it out. If they were to charge as much as lets say the Devil Rays, I can't imagine the type of team they put on the field. I understand your point but I also understand why they charge so much. I dont think they are necessarily being outperformed in aspects of the franchise though. They did enjoy some success and at the same time they are getting the younger players in to the mix. Its not like they were the Tigers and losing 119 games. The younger kids were thrown in to an environment where they won a significant amount of ball games and their experience grew. You have to remember, a rebuilding year for Boston would be considered a very good year to many other teams. We do expect them to win every year because of the resources and they do win. The Redsox are expected to compete in a division with the yankees and the yankees will almost always win that battle. While we do have the resources, the yankees will always have more. Their tickets are no bargain AND they hold about 20,000 more fans per game. In addition, the resources can only go so far. You pointed out tthat smaller market teams are having more success. The reasons for this is that they did suck at one point. Take Detroit for example. They sucked, but that only means that they have more opportunities to bring in higher draft picks. The Sox and Yankees on the other hand were relying for so long on the FA market. The past few years have not prodiuced many high profile FA's worth taking a look at. It is happening again this year. There is virtually no pitching on the market so we will go in to the draft looking for solid arms. Only problem is that the smaller market teams will get the first crack at them.
  13. In the bullpen, IMO we need more than help. We need to completely retool. We need a Lefty, and no im not talking lefty specialist. We need a pitcher who throws lefthanded to get out both righties and lefties. We havent had one since Embree in 04'. We need a setup man. Mike Timlin finally fell to earth and showed his age this season. While I think he can still be effective, I am not sure his arm can take the toll of being an everyday setup man any longer. Then we need a closer. Keith Foulke will not close games in Boston, and there is not very much on the market for premier closers. The Sox will most likely not acquire someone like Gagne, you have to think that the Yankees or someone else will be willing to overpay him. I dont think we could justify overpaying him considering his health issues and the fact that we are already paying Keith Foulke premier closer money to eat up garbage innings.
  14. No thank you to another guy over 40 years old. Lets be realistic, Theo would NEVER bring him in.
  15. This was found on YESNETWORK.COM How twisted can you be? If this were Matt Clement or Julian Tavarez or even a single A player it would still be tragic to the RedSox organization. Just incredible how some people believe winning baseball games is more important than life.
  16. There was a 911 call, Im guessing he was having difficulties with the plane...he circled around as if he was trying to return and land.
  17. If this is a joke, you are picking a very very wrong time to do this. That is not even close to being funny. I pray that this is something you really heard and are not trying to shed light on a very serious matter. If not you truly are a yankshater who takes baseball way to seriously and has a warped sense of reality. I am hearing it was Lidle, his instructor and two other unidentified people as of right now.
  18. Im not seeing a link, probably just speculation...cant figure out why they woudl just make up horrible stuff about their own team.....and fox news just said that Lidle was the only Yankee on the plane...
  19. NYYFANS.COM claims that possibly Bobby Abreau was on the plane with him. Not sure if its true or not and not sure about their sources, I am assuming pure speculation on their part....
  20. Sigh.....here we go again, blaming the season on a #5/Swing relief type guy.
  21. I dont see the Bagwell reference. They are very different players. Sanchez is a gap hitter who never walks and doesnt have the slightest bit of speed playing pretty good D. Bagwell was a complete hitter, one of the best baserunners of his time and a very good fielding 1B. I understand we didnt know that Bagpipes would turn in to the player he did, but with Freddy many people viewed him as a good hitting prospect and thats exactly what he turned in to, a good hitter. Nobody knew that Bagwell would hit .350 with 35 HR's 120 RBIS and walk 80+ times a year.
  22. Well he does have a pretty good split, and while not a true "offspeed" pitch, Schilling has gotten away with throwing mainly two pitches his whole career. He does throw a slider/slurve/curve or whatever you wanna call it, but its mostly for show. Clemens is another example of this as he got away from the curveball and fell in love with his split/fork and focused on his 2/4 seamers and the split/fork.
