  1. While I agree the Red Sox want to protect their investments, you're assuming that the injuries stem from overuse. There is no evidence behind that. Beckett had back problems last year and before that had no prior history of any major arm troubles. Much like you're inferring that you can't take results and attribute them directly from an action in this case: You can't infer that Beckett was ineffective as a direct result of being left out there too long in his last start. While it may be true, you can't state as a fact it is. It's an easy excuse for him to use, but you never heard it out of his mouth, or anyone else's. You're also infering that "arm soreness" is something unusual. Every pitcher who throws 100+ pitches many of them 95 mph has arm soreness after a game. Why do you think they wrap themselves up?
  2. Has this team scored double digit runs yet this year? I feel like this should have happened already.
  3. Actually it's undefined because you can't divide by 0.
  4. Carl Crawford Cardiac Cat
  5. You guys are ridiculous. You don't shuffle the lineup around everytime someone has a really good or really bad 50 AB stretch.
  6. If you take a look at the stats he's been doing just fine down where he is. Who are you suggesting him to replace in the top of the lineup?
  7. 8. Hey guys I know this is not the right place for this, but I need some quick feedback. Who wins in this trade (non-keeper league)? Andre Either for Cliff Lee straight up.
  9. Ok. Last tiem I make a game thread.

  11. Afternoon start. Mother nature broke that game up last night. Angels can take it. Sox take the game today and the Series and keep rolling. .500 will come eventually. Almost there. John Lackey vs. old friend Joel Piniero 1:35 PM start
  12. EDIT NEVERMIND. I misread MJANTOs first post. I though he said April games mean nothing. Not complete games mean nothing.
  13. It wouldn't be unusual for starters to go 140-150 pitches at times. I do understand protecting guys that the franchise has millions of dollars invest in, but at the same time for workhorses like Lester strict pitch count is just not a factor at this point in his career. But I can understand the Beckett thing. He's coming off an injury riddled season and he looks great so far and you just want to mitigate his workload. No doubt he's pumped as anyone else with his early season success.
  14. 0. Re-read my 2nd post. It refers to the one above it and has nothing do with my OP. I was just following up with Upper Deck Beck that the games count just as much in April as they do in September.
  15. Well, it does mean SOMETHING. I mean if we went 8-4 instead of 2-10 to start the season can be the difference between 92 wins and 98 wins which coudl mean the wild card.
  16. Curt Young stated the other day that this is his philsophy with the starting pitching this year. We've seen the effects of what happens when a pitcher this year gets to that level. Beckett came out of his last start after only 90-something pitches, and then last night Lester seemed to come out of a gem he was throwing a bit premature. Is this a new thing with Curt Young? I feel like this wasn't in place with John Farrell. Its supposedly trying to limit our workhorses innings in the beginnign of the season. I'm not sure I agree with it but it is insteresting.

  18. Baseball at anfield would not be possible. Liverpool playing at Fenway is a possibility though.
  19. Celtics win Game 2, then Celtics win the series.
  20. Will Adrian lead the league in homeruns or doubles?
