  1. I firmly believe that 1st inning singles will get curtain calls at Yankee Stadium within the next 20 years.
  2. I can't believe LaPorta slipped to the 14th round. He must have some signability issues. I hope he does get inked and into the system quickly. The f***er can hit. ~.280 IsoP this year ~.150 IsoD He alone can make the deficiency of corner power dissappear. I won't get my hopes up until we hear something about whether or not they have a realistic chance of signing him.
  3. Think Beckett has figured out that it doesn't matter how hard you throw it when it's belt-high over the middle of the plate? He won't be the ace we all want him to be until he drops the "I have the greatest FB ever" attitude. It wouldn't hurt if he developed his 2-seamer and a better change also. Bowa is going to get roasted on talk radio tomorrow. He bitched and moaned at Corey Patterson for swiping 2 bags when the O's had a 6-run lead yesterday, and talk radio already raked him over the coals a bit for that. Now, less than 30 hours later his team does the exact same thing. I hope someone asks him about that post-game. His answer will be the biggest load of justifying BS ever.
  4. Let's go Manny, kill the squander squad.
  5. Animal Mother was kept out of the last two Yankee game threads by a corrupt server. Animal Mother blames the Yankees. Animal Mother likes dead Yankees. http://www.geocities.com/area51/shire/3566/clock/fmj4.jpeg ANIMAL MOTHER MOJO!!! EDIT: The pic didn't load, Animal Mother blames the Yankees again.
  6. Aaron Small continues to look for the glass slipper he lost in the offseason, 3-0 O's, 2nd and 3rd, no-outs in the 3rd........ Nevermind, Millar goes yard, 6-0 O's.
  7. Back-to-back.......make it 3 Manny.
  8. So, that Youkilis guy seems pretty good, I think they should think about keeping him.
  9. Color me surprised about the DP. I figured the ball was headed for the RF bleachers when it got to 3-1.
  10. More of that, please.
  11. I really hope LaPorta's slightly disappointing season this year allows him to slip to our spot in the draft. I watched quite a few UF games since they are on T.V. down here, and he can hit. I doubt he slips to the #27 pick though.
  12. Looks like we got bad Wake tonight. If this game is at Fenway, it's about 6-1 at this point. Wake up offense.
  13. Loud out there. Runs please.
  14. Lester's next start has been pushed back to Monday. That puts him on normal rest for the Saturday DH vs. Texas. No official announcements about that, but if you put two and two together it seems pretty evident he'll be making his debut then.
  15. More progress from Pinckney. 2/4, 2 R, HR, RBI tonight Season: .271/.322/.441, 11 2B, 3 3B, 4 HR, 41/11 K/BB I'd like to see a little more discipline and less Ks, but he's getting better results on balls in play.
  16. I don't know what the problem is, but I can't get on the site from my house. Well, that's not entirely true. I can get on via my desktop if I disable my cable modem, bypass my router, repower the modem, connect the desktop directly to the modem, and type in the command "ipconfig/flushdns" in the command prompt. However, when I set my router back up so that I can use my laptop around the house, I get a "Page Cannot be Displayed" message. It's been this way since last Friday night. It's really inconvenient to disable my home network, so my visits will probably be fewer and further between.
  17. Peavy has fanned 16 through 7 on 114 pitches. Do they let him go for the record?
  18. Hahah, come on Moose, at least let him get to 4 innings before you send the Kaibash (sp) his way.
  19. Foulke will not be the dominant closer we saw in '04, nor will he be the jobber we saw tonight. He's provided some very good outings thus far this year, and he's had a couple of bad ones. I'm glad he got one of the bad ones out of his system with an 8-run lead tonight. He'll be a good MRP for us, so I don't see the use in trading him. Especially since nobody will want him for MRP at his price tag, so like YAZMAN said, we'll have to throw money in the deal, and get back another MRP, who will likely cost us just as much to provide about the same relative value.
  20. Seanez-esque performance from Foulke tonight. One more out please.
  21. 8, Balmer won it in '97. The main advantage you've held over the Sox the past few years was better relative health and a shut-down closer. Thus far it looks as if the other shoe has dropped. It all evens out in the end.
  22. Youk f***ing rules. I love this guy.
