  1. If you take Coco's SB + HBP and multiply it by the cube-root of pi, then you get Kevin Youkilis. Seriously.
  2. What in the bloody hell are you babbling about?
  3. Buzzkill, Coco, buzzkill.
  4. Coco needs to acquaint himself with the Pesky's Pole area of the park right now.
  5. The Sox on the bases go round and round Round and round Round and round...
  6. Livan, Livan likes his money He makes too much they say.... Seriously, knock this jobber out of the game this inning. Pile on!
  7. Co-signed. I like Pedroia, but I think Smoltz makes this team a serious WS contender this year. I don't like their chances in the postseason with the current rotation. And, I don't like the idea of banking on Wells or Clement to provide big 2nd half contributions.
  8. Far and away? Way better? I don't know about that. Player OPS DeRosa .904 Cano .791 Lopez .788 Roberts .787
  9. But, but, but for the last hundred years, everyone has had someone really fast bat leadoff. A hundred years of tradition can't be wrong. In fact, anything that is accepted as common knowledge for a hundred years is pretty much fact. Now, if you will excuse me, I need to go finish my yardwork before the sun completes its orbit around Earth.
  10. I think Edwards did as much can be expected with a china-doll QB while with the Jets. He's a good kicker away from playing in the AFC Championship game 2 years ago. Nobody could beat NE when it counted most of the time the last 5 years. Hard to fault him there. And, he has nothing to do with KC's previous post-season struggles, so that point is irrelevant.
  11. Tipping can result from anything. Grip, arm angle, wind up, leg kick, anything. Usually it is totally subconscious, so I would imagine a completely different approach would actually get you to think about it more than a small tweak of the old approach.
  12. I think there's something to the tipping of his pitches line of thinking. MLB hitters aren't going to miss much when they know what's coming. Beckett's stuff is very good, but when they know what's coming it isn't hard to time it. Part of that may be that he doesn't throw his curve often enough, IMO. When a guy is throwing >90% gas, they will guess right more often. He's learning how to pitch. His stuff can lag a little in order to keep 'em guessing more, which will make him a better pitcher in the long run.
  13. Agreed. Daunte is the biggest offseason acquisition, IMO. He and Ronnie Brown will turn that offense around, and the defense is still solid.
  14. 10-years in the league, 5-years with the same team. I don't think it matters if you are still where you started because you would have had to elect to resign there after earning FA rights after 6 years.
  15. He's got to have 10-5 rights by now.
  16. Escobar, Lackey, Santana, and Good Weaver are the core of their rotation moving forward. I wouldn't be surprised if Colon is traded before the deadline. I think they are stuck with Bad Weaver.
  17. Youk gets on base 43.4% of the time. Crisp gets on base 30.7% of the time. Plus, Coco's speed will be more useful hitting in front of the bottom of the order than in front of the middle.

  19. Wow, Tavarez didn't suck. Is my T.V. broken? Did you guys following on Gameday get the same result, a Tavarez K?
  20. Good pitching there to Rent-an-Error. EDIT: Please don't tell me the hook is for Timlin. Everyone knows his inherited runner performance leaves something to be desired, everyone except Francona that is............Oh GREAT, it's FKF (KFK's pitching alter-ego).
  21. No, his magical moment was last year. He won't be any better (or worse) than Clement/Pauley. No quit in the Nats, they get 3 back off of Shawn "Yes, I was really that overrated" Chacon. 9-6
  22. No, he isn't close. He's all over the place. But, he is trying to throw it really hard.
  23. Yeah, that's what you need to do Josh, throw harder. That seems to be his answer for everything. Getting shelled? Throw harder. Can't throw strikes? Throw harder. His unflinching belief in the supreme excellence of his FB is getting old already.
  24. "White Flag" Mike is in the game. Anyone miss him?......... HA, as I type that the predictable result occurs. PAPI!
  25. Given the vitriol from the NY fans and media, ARod may want to consider taking that job as a Pepsi truck driver. Bad break on the bat being where it was.
