  1. I like to hear that. We win today and we'll likely pick up a game. Same thing as beating you.
  2. I knew that was the angle. Doesn't make sense to bring it up though, since Mo and Proctor have pitched 3 innings the last 2 days and Farnsworth is questionable with a swollen vagina. After that you've got Villone, a mediocre lefty, a LOOGY, and Colter Bean, a 29 y/o finally breaking out of AAA.
  3. Lenny needs about two weeks of extra work on his fielding. That's two starts in a row where he booted one.
  4. Most Valuable: Clemens and Maddux Greatest: Petey
  5. The dinger was a wall-scraper too. That makes it a wall-scraper in a park with a 3-year weighted HR factor of 1.16.
  6. I went to the archives and they are only for ESNPInsider subscribers, so I can't see the chats. I know that ESPN has a Sox bias in the minds of Yankee fans, but Callis doesn't work for them. He works for Baseball America, one of the best and most objective baseball scouting publications out there. Just because he doesn't bleed pinstripes doesn't mean is analysis is wrong. And, besides, we are talking about his comparison of two kids (literally). There's plenty of ball to be played before any real judgement can be made on either of these two, IMO.
  7. I've read him, and it's obvious he's no Yankee fan. That said, he makes his money as a baseball analyst. I'll give his objectivity the benefit of the doubt since it doesn't do him any good to be subjective. I made that comment because it is common for Yankee fans to try and discredit any analysis that doesn't favor their guy as biased. I didn't catch what he said about Clippard, got a link?
  8. This thread is as good as any to vent about this, here goes....... f*** YOU ERIC BYRNES! He just took out McCann (on my fantasy team) at home, and McCann is hurt (likely for a bit of time). Here's the injuries I've had thus far: Lugo Cantu Griffey (yeah, I know it was a risk) Crisp Alou (Griffey's replacement) Mueller (bench player) Hanley Ramirez

Cook and Francis are both good pitchers. I don't look at W/L to evaluate a pitcher. For me it's ERA, K/9, WHIP, and GB/FB.
  10. Dirt + Water = Sox Win Good game from JB. This won't go down as a QS (unless they do it by ER not R), but it should. That makes 3 in a row against three teams that can score some runs and in 3 HR friendly ballparks. Just stay healthy, kid.
  11. Beckett has pitched in the 8th inning twice this year. He finished the inning neither time and gave up 3 runs both times. He has allowed 3 HR in less than one inning of work after the 7th. This needs to be the header of Tito's roster sheets on days Josh pitches.
  12. So much for the defensive replacement. JT, it's too bad you want playing time because you just eliminated your only virtue.
  13. The 'pen isn't exactly gassed right now. The starters have pitched 7 IP in 3 of the last 5 starts, and the other two pitched 6 (with a day off in there). They need their work too. Gonzo the Great!
  14. Damn, Crespo, you beat me to it. I love it when people try and act smart with the grammar angle while butchering the language in the process. High comedy.
  15. Jeff Francis has yet to give up a hit to the Jays through 5. EDIT: He gives up a hit to start the 6th. This thread sucks. ABORT! ABORT! ABORT!
  16. Do you have to say this in the mirror to make yourself really believe it?
  17. Youk! (look from the wife)
  18. Holy vaginitis! He's not a man for throwing that punch. Is that all you've got? Who gives a crap about your definition of man? He's the man because AJ is a renowned prick, and his rep earned him that shot to the chops. Check the boards. All the ones I go to are ready to buy Barrett a round at the bar. That's why people think he's the man. Listening to you skirts whine about who "the man" is comes close to being as funny as the punch.
  19. Youk! I'll never get tired of doing a big, crazy moose-call like, "YOOOOUUUUUUK!", that makes my wife give me a suspicious look. Never.
  20. Hell yeah Josh, do it on your own if you have to.
  21. That excuse never gets old, does it?
  22. I'm not trying to defend him because I think he's an idiot tool, but in that context he would be right. There was speculation that Pelfrey could be ready to come up if needed by this Sept. Milledge is better than Melky, Reese, Thompson, et al.
