  1. Smart ball by the Mets. Bean's delivery is slow.
  2. So we've seen Myers, then Bean, now Heilman is warming, and if Bradford made it into the game, would 4 sub-marineers in one game be a record?
  3. Yeah, bad ending for Vito. Although, I don't know who carries a bigger caboose, him or Colter Bean?
  4. I think Riv is saying he hopes the ball goes over Lowell's head. Hahah, I'm following on gameday while The Soprano's are on, and has anyone checked out Reese's mug-shot yet? He looks like Tony's boys worked him over a little.
  5. I forgot they had Scott "Home Runs are Fun" Erickson.
  6. Yeah, I thought Small was the long-guy. Who are they going to trot out in the 5th, Colter Bean?
  7. Yes, please do. Use up that 'pen, burn it up. Hell, I hope the Yanks make a game of it and the 'pen is torched going into Monday.
  8. Uh oh, clock struck mid-night, time to kick off the glass slippers Aaron, your fairy-tale visit to 2005 lasted about 3 innings.
  9. It's like it's Christmas for the Yankees this week. Gift, after gift, after gift......
  10. It wasn't like there weren't warning signs with his bum shoulder at the end of last year, and his BA and BABIP away from Fenway during his career. Those numbers through one month line up very well with his AWAY splits from the last 4 years. C'mon now...
  11. Funny, I thought you hated it when people responded with taunts after you provided some analysis. Milk-Toast with another fine play in RF.
  12. Oh, I see. I rounded to include anyone's whole career if they had pitched in the last 40 years.
  13. No Koufax? After a little thought, mine rethought and in order (based on value, not dominance).... 1. Greg Maddux 2. Rajah 3. Petey 4. Seaver 5. Sandy 6. Gibson 7. Johnson 8. Carlton 9. Marichal 10. Ryan
  14. Can we start a petition to get a Sticky in the game-thread forum that requests all members to have respect for the mojo? I'm getting sick and tired of the lack of ...... RESPEK 4 DA MOJO!!!
  15. It all depends on context. Am I getting the pitcher for a game, a season, for four years, or a career? If my left nut is on the line for one game of baseball, but I get to pick any pitcher from any point in his career to be on the hill for my team, then I'm sending Pedro circa '99-'00 out there. Over everybody in the history of the game. If I want the biggest contribution to my team year in and year out, then I'll go with Walter Johnson or Lefty Grove (all-time pitchers).
  16. "Catfish" played for some very good teams, so his win total was probably helped a lot by good offenses and bullpens. Don't get me wrong, he was a very good pitcher, but he doesn't make the list. Drysdale probably gets cut from this list too. As well as Vida and Bret. I think my top-10 of the last 40-45 years would be like this (no-order): Pedro, Roger, Sandy, Maddux, Seaver, Gooden, Johnson, Gibson, Carlton, & Marichal Just missing the list: Tiant, Palmer, Blyleven, Hunter, Saberhagen, Ryan
  17. So, since you wear a skirt, is it OK if we call you Typhoid Mary?
  18. I would call it scoring 4 runs off Wanger. It was more of a score 1 run off Wagner and then just stand in the batter's box while he implodes.
  19. That's right, Chacon is being skipped tonight.
  20. Nope, we'll get Chacon (yum), Wang, and RJ (double yum). That is, of course, unless Moose is going to pitch on 3 days rest.
  21. What is this? The king of Foot in Mouth Syndrome is learning some tact? You sure you aren't a poly-sci major destined for public office?
  22. I don't think so. He came up for the first time in '04, so he should have options through '07.
  23. Just what the doctor ordered. Way to get out of the jam, Abe.
  24. Clemens isn't fit to carry Pedro's jockstrap when talking about dominance. Clemens is more valuable because of how long he's done it and how many innings he pitched, but Pedro's dominance was trancendent. We may never see a pitcher that good again.
