  1. What the Wasdin is up with the lineup? It would be nice if our china doll roster could handle two games with the day off tomorrow. Great opportunity to make it a 2-game lead is slipping down the drain. But, hey, at least nobody is upset. Way to go, Tito!
  2. Clement out with cramps? It's probably menstrual.
  3. It is possible, but it would require pressure seals at every opening to the building so that they could pump more air in and keep it at a higher pressure (the air at sea level is 1 ATM - atmosphere - the air above sea level is less than 1 ATM of pressure).
  4. What's an indoor stadium going to do? The air density is much lower both inside and outside, and the lower density is why the ball carries so well.
  5. AGon K's Crisp singles through the hole into LF Loretta doubles off the wall, Crisp doesn't score Ortiz IBB Manny hits #21........it's miller time! Make it happen.
  6. Can anyone who is watching give me a report on those last two balls caught? Castig made 'em sound like Willie Mays' basket catch.
  7. Eh, I'm OK if they just flip the lineup. Of course, if Christopher Trotman Nixon were to channel his manna from yesterday, then all would be well.
  8. 4 straight K's from a guy who has been up since '98, but appeared in only 4 games before tonight? So the D doesn't show up at all, and the offense turtles back into its shell after 5 innings. Smells like a loss to me. At least they scored enough runs so that the kid doesn't get an 'L' hung around his neck in his debut.
  9. I hate listening to Trup. Hate it. swing, AND A HARD LINE DRIVE DOWN THE RF LINE TOWARD THE PESKY POLE...........foul ball. f***er.
  10. That scouting report is flattering version of what Baseball America, Baseball Analysts, and Baseball Prospectus all say about him. Namely, his command is inconsistent. If you have inconsistent command, IMO, you don't have good command. I'm not saying his command is weak, I never have, but it is the main flaw in his game right now (which is typical for pitchers his age). I like Lester, and I think it's great the FO has had the foresight to hang on to him, but I don't see a pitcher with good command based on the results he's produced this year. It will come with time, but he doesn't have it now.
  11. I don't know where you read he was known for good control. Every scouting report I've read about him raves about his stuff, for good reason, but the only warning flags have been his highish BB rates. f***ing Trupiano. He had me out of my seat on Lowell's foul ball.
  12. He's probably thrown about 25 unnecessary pitches due to the defense.
  13. Way to support the kid in his debut defense. It's not like he doesn't have enough to deal with in Texas' lineup and the postcard strikezone tonight (not to mention the weather).
  14. Isn't there a minimum amount of time down (like 5 days) before you can be called back up? Either way, if he's going to be a relief pitcher, he needs to be up soon learning how to pitch at this level.
  15. I couldn't see it, but I imagine Coco was @ about 3c rounding 1st on that double.
  16. Pauley is there for LRP. And, both can be optioned down for fresh arms after tonight (or, after the first game tomorrow).
  17. He should have been out of the inning 14 pitches ago. Now he's over 50 and not done with 2 innings. That good defense we were seeing lots of earlier this year has gone on hiatus.
  18. ESPN has exclusivity on games starting between 5 pm and 11 pm on Sundays, so yeah, we'll probably on get to see one of them (unless ESPN airs it on the deuce).
  19. The game is on NESN. If Fox had the rights, they'd air it, especially with the ratings Sox games get in New England. EDIT: It should only be a matter of enabling the stream for mlb.tv and relaying the broadcast for EI. They have their heads straight up their poop shutes, and people should let them know it.
  20. I'm pretty certain that MLB.TV and EI have rights to all non-Fox broadcasts since that is what they show. Fox exclusivity applies to all games scheduled before 5:00 pm EST. They aren't showing this game because they weren't prepared to show it. But I'm certain they do have rights to it since it started after 5:00.
  21. Fox broadcast exclusivity expires at 5:00 pm. If NESN is covering the game, mlb.tv should be showing it. Send them a nasty message telling them to get their heads out of their asses. I did.
  22. Dye is having an excellent season. His OBP and SLG are higher than Rios.
  23. If you are going to put a DH at 1B, then I think Thome deserves the spot. I voted for Giambi because he plays more games in the field than he DH's.
