  1. Slight hijack, but I'd love to see those two go at it in a tub of baby oil. Ok, back to the H.R. discussion.
  2. I'd take ARod over Manny, but only because of what position he can play. Those numbers out of a SS are freakish. Manny is the better and more complete (and consistent) hitter.
  3. Yeah, I liked Reynolds in the booth. I think he'd make a very good color commentator. Hopefully Fox picks him up. I was not a fan of his analysis. He struck me as a big name ball washer. What I mean by that is, despite current performance or stats, he would always pick the biggest names for 'his' teams, etc. I think it showed that he doesn't really follow the game as closely as an analyst ought to.
  4. 700 spends about 80-90% of his time in the Sox related threads. Particularly the game threads and discussions about the rotation. Making the claim that he spends most of his time in the Yankee thread is just flat out wrong. It amuses me that 26 tries to play the innocent, 'I just want to talk baseball' card. He's said several times that he only came here (and picked his username) to 'set the record straight' and defend the Yankees. That's not just, 'talking baseball', that's taking sides in the rivalry. And the fact that you care so much about what we think or post is a clear indicator that there is some level of obsession about the Sox, or at least Sox fans, in you. More indicative is the username -- we go here a lot don't we? If you aren't obsessed with the Sox, 26, then why the '6' in your name? It really sucks for you that all of your, 'I don't act classlessly like you....' and 'I am not obsessed like you....' arguments go right in the shitter because of your username. Probably should have put a little more thought into that one.
  5. Sorry, that edit occured after I clicked on the page. Since I didn't refresh the page before posting, it wasn't there. Don't get upset; I was just having a little fun with a funny typo. I would expect others to do the same when I make one.
  6. Man it sucks when you get fired, but I'm sure getting fried is even worse.
  7. Where do I deny him credit? It was an observation and opinion. He advanced 3 bases he shouldn't have by Texas f***ing up last night on a dropped tag, misplayed ball in the corner, and ARod-esque throw to the plate. About a week and a half ago, he reached via error like 7 times in 6 games. Are you trying to tell me he did something to earn those bases?
  8. It would be nice if Texas stopped kicking the ball around the field. As bad as the Yankees have been playing lately, their opponents have been quite generous with the extra outs and bases. EDIT: Another base for Milk-Dud on a s***** throw, and it was a run to boot.
  9. Hey, there's a baseball game today. Might as well win it.
  10. Millwood really dicked the dog there. He had Jeter about 6" futher off the plate after dusting him, then he hangs one on the inner half. He should have pumped a FB away. Where Jeter was set up, there's no way he covers the outer half.
  11. Another extra base on a misplay for Cabrera. That's 2 today.
  12. Soriano's worth would be maximized in Chicago on the White Sox, IMO. Bandbox ball park with the biggest HR park factor other than Coors field over the last 3 years, and a manager that will give him the green light. There are worse places for him to go.
  13. Mark Teixeira says.... "Guess what I found out about Randy Johnson's pitches. They're ... FAT!" http://www.joystiq.com/media/2006/01/jarefogle.jpg
  14. Did they just say Damon's back locked up on him? First year of 4 and he's been hobbled for various reasons. Despite Coco's little cold stretch, I still don't think giving JD long-money was a good idea. I fully believe that Melky Cabrera gets more bases by people f***ing up than anyone in baseball.
  15. Well, Kreskin is a Yankee fan, so it's no wonder they boo'd him weeks before those 2 bad games.
  16. Nobody is saying he can't play RF, but I am certainly saying he shouldn't play RF. Say it's not important all you want, but that won't change the fact that a big arm is part of the skill-set you want in a RF.
  17. I'm not trying absovle Manny from any guilt. He should have had the ball. That is undeniable. He also shouldn't have needed to get the ball. Coco misplayed that ball by a good 5-6 feet. He launched himself over the fence and the ball hit the wall a good ways behind him. His range is great, but his first step and routes suck. I think at least 25 of the remaining 29 CF get that ball. He compounded the problem by skipping the ball all the way to 3B -- hint, hint, that's your lack of concentration that you seem to be unable to find.
  18. Oh, the second line of defense gets the blame? That's new.
  19. I'm not measuring anything. Most of the complaints after that play were directed at Manny, so my assertion didn't take much bean counting. Yeah, and league average CF catches that ball at the fence, or at the very least, hits the cutoff man. If you are so quick to take the "s*** happens, that's baseball" line of thinking with Coco, why no reprieve for Manny?
  20. I can't believe Manny is getting the brunt of the blame here. Yeah, him not picking it up on the run barehanded didn't help, but Coco f'd up twice there. TWICE. First he didn't play what should have been a deep fly-ball right, then he missed two cut-off men giving Beltre the extra time needed to get home.
  21. BS, that ball should have been caught. He over-ran the spot where it hit the wall by 5 feet. He completely misplayed it. I love his range, but his instincts are s***.
  22. I thought the LL WS wasn't until August? Coco gets some pretty horrible reads on the ball. No arm either. He's looking more and more like a mistake every day.
  23. I dunno, but the guy about to get his ear ripped off is Stitch Jones.... http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/images_movie/heartbreakridge.JPG
