  1. Can't walk the #9 guy, and he pays for it.
  2. Marte has turned his poor start around. I really doubt the Tribe is shopping young talent in a year that looks like a rebuild year for them.
  3. I'm really glad that Lowell is the baggage we had to take to get Beckett. He's swinging a great bat this year. And, more importantly, I never really watched him a regular basis despite living in Florida, but he's the smoothest MoFo I've seen at the hot corner. He doesn't have unbelievable range, but what he does get to is like buttah.
  4. Yeah, you won't be able to watch it if you aren't in the Boston or Seattle areas. Get used to. The Sox are good, so Fox has them scheduled for a lot of Saturday afternoon games. When your local affiliate decides not to show it, then you, I, and the other guy are S.O.L. Just killing time watching the Mets/Stros game, and I just saw the commercial for the 5-blade Schick razor. Gillete makes the Mach3, Schick makes the Quatro, and then adds a blade on the top to give it 5-blades. I'm worried that I will be shaving my face with a dozen-bladed face-mauler that will turn my cheeks into pulp within the next 5 years.
  5. It all depends on who your options are to drop.
  6. No, that means the Sox have to put him on it in order to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Being on the 40-man doesn't mean you have to be called up in Sept. It just means you are eligible to come up and play. Don't get me wrong, he will be with the team because the MiLB season is complete, but he doesn't have to be.
  7. Kason Gabbard -- MLB Debut vs. Felix "I've been demoted to Squire" Hernandez 8-8, 4.89 Today's Theme: THE BATTLE OF KASON Khe Sahn was a Marine fire base during the Vietnam war. When the Tet Offensive kicked off to start the new Vietnamese year, Khe Sahn was surrounded, and was beseiged by the enemy for a full year. A year. However, the relentless attacks on the base were fruitless because United States Marines kick mother-f***ing ass. That is what we need Kason to do today - kick MF'ing ass. Oh, and guess who was a Marine...... http://www.afan.dk/firefly/ffpic/ab_fmj096a.jpg That's right..........ANIMAL MOTHER, BITCHES!!!! SideNote: Coco, you are on the Oracle's radar screen.
  8. Aloha Sam.
  9. Aloha from Orlando, Steve.
  10. E5 - throwing. He's going to need every bit of the good the HR did in the minds of Yankee fans.
  11. Yeah, which ass cheek? Pictures of him in ST showed him reporting to camp sporting about 50 lbs of junk in the trunk. Anyone got any word about what kind of shape he's in now after extended ST? His stats this year are 'meh'. I'd love to see some progress and some sign of a work ethic in this kid.
  12. If I recall correctly, he didn't ask out of Texas. They wanted to get out from under his huge contract, and he was agreeable to a move. Perhaps he even approached them, but I don't think he formally made the request. If he did, then I think he loses the right to request a trade (I think you only get one such request).
  13. Snyder 1-1, 10.03 vs. Moyer 3-5, 3.75 Today's Theme: THE ORACLE I called Lester a Wild Thing, and he found a little control. I called out Nuke for not adjusting, and he pitches more than throws while allowing no gopher balls. I called out the offense for not hitting, and they plate 6 without Papi or Lowell in the lineup. Am I a mid-50's black woman that likes to smoke cigarettes while baking cookies and asking vague questions? http://matrix.thescarymonkeyshow.com/images/oracle.jpg Well, if I am, let's get on to who needs motivation today. Manny? Ortiz? WMP? Lowell, Youk, Coco? So many choices, but I'm going to shock you with who I pick. Kyle Snyder. I know, I know, that is going out on limb. But, what can I say, I'm a risk taker. And, my suggestion to Kyle is quite simple. He needs to do everything he can to avoid pitching like Kyle Snyder. Do that, and we win.
  14. I will be interesting to see how this plays out. ARod was traded mid-contract, so he can ask out of town any time he wants. If he continues to struggle, and the NY fans/media keep up the pressure -- a sort of vicious cycle -- it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him demand a trade. Not many teams will view his contract as appealing, so they may not get much in return. And, unlikely to happen, if they don't trade him he hits the market.
  15. But, they probably should have lost the 2 prior to that (Sexson 3 run error, blown call). Ebb and flow. It all evens out in the end.
  16. No doubt. It just came out like a snarky remark. If you say it wasn't, I'll take your word for it.
  17. Mmmkay. Don't get where this comment is coming from. I'll write it off to heat of the moment. Considering that I said I recognized the location, isn't it safe to assume that I was referencing Sox pitchers' performance against Wells this year?
  18. Just curious, why is Catalanotto to blame there? He's not the type of guy that gets a green light to make his own decisions on the bases. I'd bet dollars to donuts he got sent. What's he supposed to do, not try and steal?
  19. Hey, I've seen that pitch location before. You can't give Wells a belt high one on the inner half.
  20. Nevermind.
  21. Blinky gets the motor running. I like that Wells and Glaus are righties......stupid Gibbons, stupid.
  22. I doubt he uses him more than 2. He would be in line for 2 days rest after 3 innings tonight. Yankees are pissing away a golden opportunity here. Tallet is not a good pitcher, but the same thing happened to the Sox when Politte pitched a couple of scoreless innings in the game before the break. Here comes the heart against Rivera.
  23. Speier is pretty nasty. I remember a couple of ABs where he had Manny total confused. Everything comes out of the same arm slot with the same initial trajectory........until it either runs in on righty (2-seamer) or away (cutter). Guess wrong and you are toast.
  24. Did Buck Martinez just say that you pitch Jeter away (I wasn't listening with full attention) because he dives out over the plate? No wonder the US couldn't get out of the first round of the WBC.
  25. Free baseball. f***. I've invested 3 hours in this game, and I really need to go to bed. 3:45 is right around the corner.
