    Does Jones have some sort of funky force field around him that makes Sox pitchers completely miss the strike zone? This is their f***ing #9 hitter, and they either walk him or fall behind so he gets something to hit every time he's up.

    Tek's heating up. SideNote: I love it when I'm watching on mlb.tv, and as I peruse the games on gameday I sometimes see the result of the play before the video feed shows it. In this case, I'm watching Washburn dick around in between pitches as gameday shows the blue pitch indicator with "In play, run scoring play" next to it. I love knowing a good outcome is on the way.

    I'd wait until the end of the season with Trot. When I defended his worth earlier in this thread, I didn't mean to give anyone the idea that I was totally in favor of keeping him. He's got some serious red flags. Injury history, age, and declining power. Although, I don't know that his power is declining that much, he's just in a god-awful slump right now. He's not squaring it up. If that becomes the norm, then yeah, it's time to cut bait. I will say this, it's nice to have a replacement option on the roster. The COF market looks a little thin after C.Lee this offseason.

    He needs his head fixed. Who knows how long that could take. For some, there is no fix. For others, they are fine by the end of the week. It's pretty obvious he's pressing really hard, but without any confidence. Given the way he tries to please everyone in the media, he strikes me as a bit of an obsessive, brooding type of guy. If it lasts, it won't matter how quickly Matsui finds his swing.

They just played the Sterling call of Overbay's go-ahead 2-run double on WEEI, and at the end, Trupiano said, "Surprised he didn't say 'Payday for Overbay!'". Priceless.

    2-2 into the bottom of the 5th. Lilly is at 87 pitches. It will be interesting to see what Gibbons does with his BP. Ryan and Speier could use another day of rest, but they might have a chance to win the series.
