  1. Who does he replace? Seanez and Tavarez are, believe it or not, better pitchers than him right now.
  2. He had a big dropoff in velocity this year. That is a big red flag for a possible injury. No thanks.
  3. No, that was the right move by Gibbons. Ryan is having a great year, he's a lefty, and Giambi hits from the right side of the plate for that matchup. What wasn't the right move was shifting. Ryan throws hard, and Giambi is patient. From where Ryan delivers the ball, Giambi won't recognize the pitch as quickly, which means theres a chance he's a little late on it. Walking the tying run into SP didn't help.
  4. Yes, I have no doubt that he gets out of that inning if ARod makes that play. No doubt at all. But, that's the thing with Moose. He is capable of pitching absolutely brilliantly, but everything has to be going his way. Bad defense, tight strike zone, blown call on the bases, etc. and he gets a little pissy. You can physically see his demeanor change. That is a weakness. He was dominating the Jays prior to that. Dominating. If he keeps his head, he probably strands Johnson at 3B with only one run scored.
  5. It doesn't help that Mussina is wound tighter than a long tailed cat's sphincter in a room full of rocking chairs. When something other than the job at hand gets into his head -- like being let down by your D -- he can be pretty craptastic. He wasn't hitting his spots as well after the E5, and that contibuted to the big inning.
  6. Beowulf 11-3, 3.42 vs. John Rheinecker 4-4, 4.82 Today's Theme: "I SEEM TO HAVE LOST MY BAT" Where oh where have the Red Sox bats gone? I, like all of you, am ecstatic that they shut out the opponent the last two games. However, the offense has been, no offense, offensive. With the search party out looking for the Sox lumber, I think I've found a substitution that will enable them to hit the ball better.... http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f8/kembry/CAHJY4S6.jpg
  7. RS got the reference. Stinnett was RJ's caddy in AZ, and that's the reason he was brought in this offseason. If RJ weren't such a disagreeable person, he'd get along better with Posada, allowing the Yankees to get a more capable backup. Since the Posada/Johnson relationship isn't so good, they had to get someone to calm the headcase down. Enter Stinnett.
  8. That is the baggage that comes with a difficult player like RJ.
  9. And he earned all 12. I agree, this a good move. I give Nuke a hard time, but I don't want them to let him walk away. He a very good pitcher when he's on, and I feel he'll become more consistent as he adds polish to his game.
  10. I'm at work and checking in on Gameday. That's 2 HBP for Nuke. Is he pitching inside more today. If so, good.
  11. Apparently Millar seems to have handed over his Tito with a goat, lederhosen, and a 5-lb block of cheese pictures to Kapler.
  12. Nuke LaLoosh 11-5, 5.12 vs. Mark "Look Ma, I made the All-Star team" Redman 6-4, 5.38 Today's Theme: GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR Nuke, like the computer program Joshua in the movie War Games, needs to learn that sometimes you need to adjust the way you think/approach things. Joshua thought that all games either have a winner or a loser, and that they should be played until such a result was established. He eventually learned, that in some games, like Global Thermonuclear War and Tic-Tac-Toe (improbably analogy there), there is no winner, no matter how well you play. Nuke, for some reason, still thinks he can be successful in this league by giving hitters a steady diet of fast balls. Hopefully, he will see the folly in this line of thinking and learn his lesson too. http://gorro.student.utwente.nl/films/images/WarGames3.jpg Would _ you _ like _ to _ play _ a _ game?
  13. Tarp out. Seattle got completely jobbed there.
  14. Lester's done, they showed him heading to the clubhouse during the bottom of the inning. Great outing from the kid.... 8-0-0-1-4-4 Yeah, I'll take some more of that .
  15. RSR, I think everyone is pretty excited about the kid, but they just wish he'd trust his stuff a little more and quit with the free passes. I'm not complaining about the total package, but it would be nice to see more nights like tonight.
  16. Awful AB by Coco.
  17. Now is the time. Guys like Duckworth can have the wheels fall off pretty quick. Make it happen.
  18. Liriano vs. Kazmir just started and the nitwit TV network with broadcast rights here in Orlando isn't showing it. f***ers.
  19. Might we get, wait for it, 7 from Lester today? He's only at 68 through 5.
  20. Reggie Abercrombie just scored on a bunt. No, it wasn't a squeeze play. He was the one that bunted. It would have been a hit, so Zimmerman should have just ate the ball, but he tossed into foul territory by RF. Then, the RF tossed into LF and Abercrombie scored. It was an LL play all the way.
  21. Let me reiterate. This is Brandon Duckworth.
  22. Triple? Not so much. You only get triples in that part of Fenway if you hit the ladder and the ball kicks in a funny direction.
  23. No. This is something we, as fans, are going to have to deal with and get frustrated by as he finishes his development.
  24. Sweet. No soup for you, forehead boy.
  25. Just a reminder. This is Brandon Duckworth. That is all.
