  1. i sure hope it helps bellhorn's confidence, hes right now in an 0 - 15 slump---9 strikeouts, 4 walks, 2 runs scored
  2. yea like back in may the yanks had went on this 10 game winning streak and then boom started to trip over their checkbooks again
  3. i sure hope so, guesss whos in the mixx now to get aj burnett--mother friggin chicago white sox, haha thats all we need, theyre already in the playoffs as it is
  4. yea and vazquez wont be goin directly to cleveland. he will soon be boarding a flight to join Cleveland's triple AAA team in buffalo
  5. Adam Stern has been called up from triple AAA to become th fourth outfielder--he will be in the dugout for tonights game--i read a rumor that adam stern might be a temporarily fix while theo tries to get kapler back from tokyo, would love that so much if it happened--and hey besides id like to see trot out there against lefties, since hes batting .300 against lefties this season
  6. posednik, i cant believe this guys speed, its purely amazing to me... jeez 48 stolen bases, and thats just halfway thru the season
  7. he had gotten put on a 10 day waiver. sad i know, i warmed up to him and quickly became a fan of his. Adam Stern from Pawtucket will be taken his place as the fourth outfielder
  8. lets do side by side check shall we Cora is a career .243 hitter (512-for-2,107) with 89 doubles, 23 triples, 28 homers, 181 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 733 major league games. Cora signed as a free agent with the Guardians prior to this season and batted .205 (30-for-146) with five doubles, a triple, a home run, eight RBI and six steals in 49 games for Cleveland. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vazquez is a career .259 hitter (273-for-1,056) with 43 doubles, 11 triples, six homers, 83 RBI, 18 steals and 129 runs scored in 340 major league games with the Mariners (2001), Padres (2002-04) and Red Sox (2005). Vazquez, who was acquired from the Padres December 20, 2004, batted .197 (12-for-61) with a pair of doubles, four RBI and six runs scored in 27 games for the Red Sox this season before being optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket Sunday. now still to me that is a slight upgrade, plus he also has more defensive edge than vazquez did for us
  9. im thinking, well hoping anyway, Adam Stern will be a temporarily fix while theo gets our boy kapler back from tokyo as stimpy, from Ren & Stimpy would say, oh joygassm haha
  10. oh how i will miss that power hitter of ours with that .197 batting average and 4 RBIs, how can we go on ?? haha, true alex cora is batting 205, but he has had a homerun and stole 6 bases so far this season, improvement over ramon for sure. ironic thing here, this pic was taken during the june 29 game of cleveland vs sox in fenway, with alex cora diving for a grounder to throw out olerud at first. little did he know a week later he'll be calling fenway park his new home and olerud as his teammate
  11. very cool that clement will be opening the series next thursday--his last start against the yankees was a 17 - 1 win at yankee stadium , so i do have high hopes for this one, i mean hey the first inning of that game, clement struck out the side 1-2-3
  12. i noticed something right away while watching the game. who else hears almost each game, multiple times even, "and the ball goes by a diving bellhorn"
  13. thats right soxie it was a one-two punch by dale svelum's bad decisions and embree giving off two 3 run homeruns--I was at the Sox game, first one they came back home after the yankee series. Once the announcer said Dale Svelum, all of Fenway Park had erupted in boos
  14. take a look at toronto's schedule for july, jeez the schedule will be givin them wins alone
  15. whos betting clements not liking tito that much currently in the past week. first for picking bartolo colon over him for the all star game, and then last nite pulling him with just one measly out left to record
  16. very true schil, plus if he knew about his knees were in pain each time goin up to the mound, and was messing him up that bad, is he that obnoxious of a guy to tell everybody nothings wrong and he is fine. I mean cmon, how come then for for non-save situations his ERA is 1.5, and for save situations it is like around 12 ??!! kinda makes you think, huh
  17. that first game in may against the yanks, 3 words... mother-friggin embree
  18. i just dont see why embree was put in the game, which clement could have easily finished. you could see matt in the dugout bein all pissed about it. And another thing, i think embree was put in cuz maybe terry thought it would put embree in better light, which it hasnt with me cuz his ERA is still around the 8 mark. Im thinking that way, cuz durin the 8th and 9th innings the only relievers warmin up were myers and gonzalez ??! so yea i was very surprised them bringin embree who didnt even warm up for the game...
  19. yahoo sports... it has been confirmed that schilling is goin to the bullpen as early as tonight. i really dont see this as a bad idea for now. especially if we have a big lead by the ninth, hell ya know sure put him in there. he can better work his mechanics on actual majors instead of kids who just got out of college and high school. the man, Dennis Eckersley went from starter to closer, as well as Jon Smoltz had done.
  20. i believe moreso Manny has a better shot at becoming this year's AL MVP. Well case in point, Manny didnt break out the season like A-Rod had done. He started out with 1 homerun every 10 or 15 games, putting off everyone at surprise by this. Boston thru mid June went thru a cold fall like season, but as it started to heat up Manny did as such and with 11 homeruns in the past 20 games. Manny has the 1st place league tying 22 homeruns, leage leading 77 RBI's. And cmon he just hit his 3rd grand slam this season, 4 more and he will pass the great Lou Gehrig, and be the new leader. What bad can you say Manny for what he has been able to accomplish, and the stance he has as an Icon to Red Sox Nation!!!
  21. whatever dude, ortiz has been able to follow through this season tremendously. the fact that it just so happens the day after his 4th blown save (2nd in a weeks time) that he goes to check himself up, make me think something might be up. maybe workings by sox managemnt to cover up his bad play; he is hurt; or maybe as players do he acted as if everything was fine while being hurt--he did an awesome job in the playoffs yes but halfway thru the season, a closers ERA cant be over 6. i was watching nesn, you realize he right now has the worst closer's ERA in all of the majors?
  22. if anyone wants to see daily updates on trade news, just go to http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/thebuzz/#sox id say dont go for the eddie guardado deal, besides the fact he is injury prone, and also seattle would like in turn pitcher jon lester or hanley ramirez thanks any way seattle :thumbdown
  23. what i just posted wasnt an opinion of mine i wrote up quickly, that came from Boston.com
  24. Report: Lucchino wants bullpen help ... now With Keith Foulke likely sidelined for a spell as well as Matt mantei, the need for the Sox to trade for a reliever seems even more pressing. And that pressure apparently is being applied by Larry Lucchino. According to the Herald's Howard Bryant, the Red Sox CEO told GM Theo Epstein on Monday to make a deal for a reliever. According to Bryant's sources, Lucchino ordered reinforcements by this weekend (when the Red Sox face the Orioles). Bryant also reported that Epstein has contacted the Padres about relief help, but has come up empty. His sources say the Sox have now turned to trying to lure either Eddie Guardado (closer) or Ron Villone (reliever, averaging more than nine strikeouts per nine innings) from the Mariners. Epstein has asserted all along that upgrading the bullpen is his top priority, and he said yesterday on the Red Sox pregame show on WEEI that he might now have to make a deal that he wouldn't necessarily have wanted to make. Possibilities also include Ricky Bottalico and Shigetoshi Hasegawa. There's also the possibility that prized prospect Jon Papelbon could be called up from Pawtucket.
  25. i was watching one of those countdown lists shows on espn, and it was for back in the 70s i believe and for the Cleveland Guardians at their stadium, like only 1/3 of the seats were being sold each game. So actually true story, somebody in upper management thought "hey how about this, we will have a night where each cup of beer costs 10 cents" haha, long story short having whole stadium full of wasted cleveland indian fans watching their team lose, a riot ensued in the stands and on the field as well
