  1. yeah besides hes a 20 million a season player who has stated he will just play up to just 3 seasons more and then retire
  2. i wasnt saying youk will play 2nd base next season. youk will be the 3rd baseman of 2006, i was just trying to say they are expanding his playing abilities
  3. its a straight split as with varitek that tony g has done well against lefties and righties 2005 vs lefties: .283 avg, 1 HR vs righties: .321 avg, 2 HRs
  4. that is really not making sense--yes manny wants a trade cuz people are making fun of him for going into the scoreboard ?? now that be a dull reason if true. the sox need manny, a 1 -2 punch of ortiz and manny is like no other in all baseball. Manny is hear to stay otherwise because he really does have a love for the Boston Red Sox and the fans
  5. eddie guardado is too much of a risk, sure he is doing great this season bute he is known to be injury prone--along with the ridiculous fact seattle wants to have a starter, top notch reliever and a power slugger in return for him. god no thanks seattle
  6. yeah i would say hyzdu but not until saturday when gabe kapler is expected to rejoin the team
  7. considering since halamma (ugh get him gone theo) and myers are the only leftys and delcarmen is a righty. so far I see gonzalez being the one sent back to pawtucket..
  8. anh its just lookin back at the off season and funny to look at posts made what will be the outcome for the sox and its players for 2005, case in point: john john john, I believe you are wrong on that one. In 2004 Tek connected for 18 homeruns, Now amidst before the july trade deadline he has already belted 15, which he should finish off with 2005 at about 23 - 28 Homeruns by season's ends. 73 RBIs in 2004, and 42 RBIS this season thus far, on track 75 to 95 range. The only thing he hasnt been able to do compared to 2004 was stolen bases havings stole 10 in 13 attempts, while in '05 he hasnt attempted yet. Why do you think they gave him role of captain?
  9. considering edgar just started his frst season in a 4 year $40 million contract, id say so
  10. actually ortiz right now is the only strong 1b hitter the sox currently have, olerud is in a cold offensive slump, just 4 hits in his last 32 at bats
  11. ok dude i wasnt saying clement is the infinitive ace of 2005, the first half he was the ace during that span but has dropped some but since then wells is now becoming more of the most consistent starter. if bronson keeps using that breaking ball in abundance and hanging it up there his ERA wont be the lowest
  12. embree was designated on july 19, so 3 days left, just so happens to be wknd of trade deadline, maybe theo could package him in a deal, if 10 days go by and sox do nothing tehy need to give embree a check for $1 million. Its funny about Marlins trying to offer Hyde Park native Hansen a nice big fat check, Hansen said Sox inticed him more with contract of $4 million for 4 years as well as getting to play for his favorite team since he can remember. Hey if they want Bronson so bad, grin and bare it
  13. im hoping for them to bring in JC Romero, take out Halamma another lefty like embree who has not had his stuff this season. He now leads the pitching roster in highest ERA at 6.18
  14. clement was the ace of the rotation up till the all star break with at the time a 3.35 ERA and 10-2 record
  15. this was a funny post to see
  16. it would be moreso Red Sox getting santana since the marlins have both bronson and mays on top of their wish list.
  17. millar is also good frieds with AJ since all three of them played for Marlins at the same time. I think its possible to see Ortiz again today at first base with Doug Mirabelli as DH. Its what they had done last time Red Sox faced off Tampa's pitcher Hendrickson, since Mirabelli is 7 for 13, while varitek is like 3 for 17
  18. believe what everybody is saying. Theo is crafty and sly like that while everyone is clamoring about talks between the Red Sox and AJ, Theo could be going behind the scenes making deals to get starting pitchers like jason schmidt, Mark Redman from the Pittsburgh Pirates, or even make an attempt to fly to Houston to get Roger. sorry I put Roger in there for wishful thinking, even though its not likely since Astros are now in playoffs race and his son was just drafted by the Astros. But god damn Id take a rotation any day over any others that has 1. Clemens 2. Schilling 3. Wells 4. Clement 5. Wakefield/Miller
  19. here here! i hate these half ass arguments that he is just starting to hit the ball off the fat part of the bat. steroids helps the arm drive a big number of force to send the ball flying out of the parks, i.e. Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Rafael Palmeiro all great "homerun hitters" but along with Giambi in the steroid scandal
  20. well sorry dude, honest mistake, i didnt see it in new posts
  21. just saw this on boston.com, very exciting to hear. With Delcarmen coming up, wonder who will get the boot back to the minors since delcarmen is another righty in the bullpen. Delcarmen to make major move Hyde Park native joins team today Manny Delcarmen, the righthanded reliever from Hyde Park with the mid-90s fastball and dynamic 12-to-6 curveball, was in Boston last night preparing to fly out this morning to join the Red Sox for his first stint in the majors. The 23-year-old Delcarmen, who in 2000 became the first player selected out of a Boston high school by a major league team in 34 years, was recently promoted from Double A Portland to Triple A Pawtucket. In six appearances with the PawSox Delcarmen pitched nine innings, striking out 12 and walking four while compiling a 3.00 ERA. Delcarmen's recall will be made official today.
  22. heyy youk i was looking at his posts, 20 of his 27 posts Joe is ether ripping Tito or players like Manny and Curt haha
  23. I dont know dude, Olerud is in this offensive slump right now with just 4 hits in his last 32 at bats.
  24. with way things are going, the sox/yanks series to end the season might just be the decision maker who leads the AL East
  25. besides he got injured like in week 13, Eagles got the wins to get to the superbowl without him--then how did he bring them a superbowl and accept a bigger contract than he is already getting?
