  1. ok yea the sox havent dominated anyone, 8-4 against Tampa Bay thus far, you guys would be 7-3 against the D-Rays. sweep of the Reds, Phillies, Tampa, Oakland, Cleveland...Overall 3 out of 4 against Detroit...4 out of 6 against Texas, Oakland, Cleveland...2 out of 3 against Atlanta, Angels, Pittsburgh Riiight, so a 98-64 record is sub-par huh? haha along with the biggest choke in baseball history, sweep of the mighty cardinals in world series, nah they werent the better team at all
  2. alriiight then---"how come the yankees in general keep signing these hasbeens?"---hows that now
  3. and that would be Happy Birthday to you A-Rod yanks lose to minnesota 7-3, putting them now behind the Sox by 2 games. Arod known for hitting all star type on his birthday had went hitless, and cherry on top was him striking out to end the game
  4. very possible, has now thrown total 4 1/3 inning in three straight games
  5. wow damn, what an *******...
  6. first of all dude I was talking about Clement beacuse someone in this thread had asked me what was Matt's conditon, and I was happy to update them--also this is coming from the guy who probably thinks YES is a much better network than NESN. Dude at least during NESN game broadcasts, Don and Remy dont make it all about the Red Sox while doing the play by play, they will sound excited by opposing players defensive skills and homeruns. Ive seen a game on YES before, man they are snobbish as they come, it was a Devil Rays game, and a D-Ray had hit a line to shot to left field. Whatever announcer it was kept saying "Foul, foul, foul, foul, and well that is a two run shot putting the D-Rays ahead the Yankees" now that is called garbage
  7. it does show how strong of a player and human being matt clement really is
  8. ive been a big fan of rent since he came on
  9. Hall is not liking rent so much right now, haha
  10. wow first stolen base since 2000
  11. omg alex f***in cora!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. olerud is not better option anymore for offense over millar anymore, kevin millar had went 3 for 4 yesterday. olerud had bases loaded with no outs and he grounded into a double play, now just 5 hits for last 37 at bats!!
  13. actually the fenway series last week in game 3 was mark hendrickson who didnt even get one out, was pulled after throwin 30 pitches with first 6 batters he faced all gettin on base, all who eventually would score
  14. Something interesting Gordon Edes during the pre-game noted Theo is interested in Aubrey Huff, a player who surely would help the sox out with batting. but two questions (1) tampa bay really trade him off in their own division? (2) with gabe kapler coming back anyway, would huff agree really to be a backup player whenver trot does come back which is not anytime soon?
  15. Hyzdu Im guessing will only be more or less a backup in late innings, he hasnt impressed much offense and defense wise since coming back to the Red Sox
  16. update for today's game at 415pm. Sox will look to Wakefield to gather together to try and get 2 out of 3 from Tampa Bay and go back home on a whirlwind roadtrip in Chicago and in St Petersberg. No doubt Trot and especially Matt will be on the Sox organization and red sox nations fans across the world as the updates continue. Like David Wells, Tim Wakefield has had great success against Tampa in 26 games, he has an 11-1 record facing them with a niice 2.85 ERA. Lou Piniella counters with another reliever turned starter, Seth McClung with an already high 7.07 ERA for 2005. And has pitched only very sparingly against the sox, in relief for 6.1 innings with a 5.68 ERA, including 2 Homeruns during that span. Seth McClung vs: Johnny Damon, Walk Edgar Renterria, 2 Walks David Ortiz, 0 for 1, K Manny Ramirez, 2 Walks Kevin Millar, 0 for 4, 2 Ks Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg), HR, RBI Bill Mueller, 0 for 1 Tony Graffanino, 0 for 1 Jason Varitek, 0 for 3, Walk, K Tim Wakefield vs: Jorge Cantu, 2 for 5 (.400) 2 Walks Kevin Cash, 0 for 6, 2 Ks Carl Crawford, 15 for 39 (.385 avg) 4 Doubles, Triple, 4 RBIs, 3 Ks, 6 SBs Jonny Gomes, 0 for 1, Walk Alex Gonzalez, 9 for 41 (.221 avg) HR, 4 RBIs, 3 Walks, 12 Ks, 3 for 5 SBs Toby Hall, 6 for 28 (.214 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, Walk, 6 Ks, 0 for 1 SBs Aubrey Huff, 4 for 42 (.095 avg) 2 HRs, 3 RBIs, Walk, 7 Ks Pete LaForest, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) Double, 2 Ks Travis Lee, 5 for 18 (.278 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs Julio Lugo, 5 for 20 (.250 avg) Double, 4 RBIs, 6 Walks, 4 Ks, 4 SBs Eduardo Perez, 0 for 4, Walk
  17. its not your regular line up, Manny taking a "day off", should be a good game tho
  18. very interesting, Terry had said his decision was partially because Manny basically strolling to first base in the 9th inning and just beating it to 1st base when Tampa failed to record an out on the double play--He had asked Manny if he could play todays game, but Manny had said he really need the day off----Id hate to just start seein him as a jerk but that is how its turning to be
  19. stranger things have been known to happen, like take d-lowe all sudden becoming dominant during last October
  20. yea all i have heard on nesn pre-game report, matt clement is in good health, was released by the hospital, and be on the charter back to boston with the team--very good news to hear, i expect for him to maybe miss up to 3 starts possibly
  21. kapler is set to come back saturday so far, adam stern will take his place for time being
  22. this is no surprise of course, Trot Nixon been placed on 15 day DL list and will be replaced in the roster by Lenny Dinardo.
  23. Very good news the team has released a statement that Matt Clement has been released from the hospital and he will accompany the team on the charter back to Boston
  24. sox still have a chance of taking the pennant with yankees bullpen and pitching rotation having worse woes, baltimore slumping more or less--still a chance of seein 1 playoff series at least
