  1. so says the yankee fan, think know everything about baseball. yes i was just born yesterday, been watching every sox game i could since I was little
  2. maybe thats because his kness would get messed up more playing that position--in other news today's game they stranded 11 more runners on base, 789 in 99 games
  3. dude lay the hell off of trot, the ball had made an awkard bounce off of the wall
  4. ill try to be optimistic but everybody was excited for red sox facing jose contreras because of his very bad past and look at what happened yesterday
  5. well it will be tight as ever for tomorrow, yankees pull within one game of boston now
  6. Sizzlin with tampa bays speed, would have easily scored anyway. besides Sox had their chances, second game in a row stranding 11 baserunners
  7. what the hell are you talking about? first of all the rolling ground ball in the infield hit Trot on the ankle he was called out, and whats this about little league
  8. i jiust never seen that before in a game, trot gets hit by a rolling groundball so that means he is out--i though players can only be tagged out by the actual opposing players not getting hit by a ball
  9. is Schilling our ace? I do believe so first extra inning game, only team left in the majors, last one since october, let that magic come in tropican field for the Sox
  10. cuz tito should know better to not put Timlin in the game with inherited runners, he has let 13 of the last 20 score
  11. its cool cassie, I like you did it several hours before the game starts, some game threads are done while the game has already started
  12. who said i was worrying about TO?
  13. how about terry not pinch hitting edgar for alex cora or tony g??? or how they had the tying men on bases with john olerud but he grounded out to end the game, or men on corners and no outs, and even if millar was able to get to 1st, el duque wouldnt have thrown the exact same pitch to Varitek--This season Sox have left total 778 men on base thru the first 98 games, averaging 8 a game
  14. dude its not all because of him, 11 men left on base yesterdays game, i dont think Millar was on base 11 times
  15. The Red Sox will look to get on the right foot when they come in Topicana Field, last time being there was the battle of hitting batters when Tampa's picther did the dumbest thing you can ever do, get Big Papi mad. Red Sox's David Wells will make his second consecutive start against the D-Rays, who surprisingly enough have won 7 out of their last 10 including sweeping the Orioles who are getting Javy Lopez back tonight. Wells enjoys pitching against them, in 16 games he has a 10-1 record with a niice 2.52 ERA. Tampa counters with Dough Waechter just activated off of the DL and has 3-6 record for 2005 and a 5.55 ERA. His career vs Boston in 3 games, a 1-0 record with 5.54 ERA Dough Waechter vs: Johnny Damon, 3 for 4 (.750 avg) Double, RBI Edgar Renterria, 2 for 4 (.500 avg) David Ortiz, 3 for 7 (.429 avg) 2 HRs, 3 RBIs, K Manny Ramirez, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) 2 Doubles, RBI, Walk, 3 Ks Kevin Millar, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) Jason Varitek 2 for 5 (.400 avg) Double, K Trot Nixon, 2 for 4 (.500 AVG) HR, 2 RBIs Bill Mueller, 0 for 2, RBI, Walk Doug Mirabelli, 0 for 1, K John Olerud, 0 for 2, Walk, K David Wells vs: Julio Lugo, 3 for 14 (.214 avg) Double, K Carl Crawford, 2 for 14 (.143 avg) RBI, K Jorge Cantu, 3 for 6 (.500 avg) Double Jonny Gomes, 4 for 6 (.667 avg) Double, K Aubrey Huff, 7 for 18 (.389 avg) Double, HR, 3 RBIs, 2 Ks Alex Gonzalez, 7 for 26 (.269 avg) 3 Doubles, 4 RBIs, Walk, 4 Ks, 3 SBs Damon Hollins, 0 for 4, K Toby Hall, 2 for 19 (.105 avg) Nick Green, 0 for 2, Walk Travis Lee, 4 for 12 (.333 avg) Double, RBI, 2 Ks Eduardo Perez, 1 for 9 (.111 avg) Double, K
  16. dont even get me started with that greedy friggin bastard called Terrell Owens. Last season he signed what was a big 7 year, $50 million contract. Now just a season later, hes balking at it calling it ridiculous and that is simply not enough to take care for his family ??!! he can feed the state of Massachusetts with that money easily. Have him walk through the slums sections of cities and see how good he really has it in life, shut the hell up and accept your $50 million
  17. im looking towards Sox get better at better baserunning decisions and not leaving that much runners on. So far this season the Red Sox have left 778 total runners on base thru the first 98 games, averaging 8 each game.
  18. no i just think so he can be versatile in more positions than 3rd base, with 2nd base probably being open for next season
  19. im just tryin to think like aj burnett who did indicate he as bigpapip had said, he wants to stay on the East Coast considering his wife and family live in Maryland, which now Baltimore is out of it--of anything it will be announced during game 3 against the twins at fenway on May 31, day game that I got tix for, ill be checkin my cell nonstop for news updates, haha
  20. oh ok just like the yankees just barely avoiding a 4 game sweep to the Angels
  21. what are you talking about?? i was talking about baltimore getting swept by the d-rays, not in anyway about my red sox and the yankees
  22. also blame the Red Sox GM of the mid-80s, couldve seen a sox championship earlier. Because in 1986, Curt Schilling was in fact drafted in the first round by our Boston Red Sox. My uncle told me that the fans booed and slouched over their seats as the current GM had traded off Schilling to get a quick fix for the Sox, not knowing this 20 year old kid would basically bring the Sox the World Series 18 years later.
  23. as well as not pinch hitting Edgar (even though he was stretchin in the dugout) for alex cora. Edgar has a 274 batting average with Runners in scoring position compared to Cora's .189--Id like to see Sox get more adventurous like actually pulling down more bunts, squeeze plays, steal bases, etc.
  24. Yeah plus Florida seldom rarely gives him run support AJ needs, his 3.38 ERA should show better than 7-6 record he has this season. Bronson does more good on the roda most of time more than home with Fenway's dimensions, having Florida Marlins' "pitchers" ballpark could help him
