  1. with Papi's homerun last night he is now tied with A-Rod for the lead in Homeruns in the American League. Papi is set for 50 +/- HRs by seasons end, and now has 127 RBIs which should end out the season with 140 +/- RBIs
  2. how much money will the Royals have? they are discussing trying to go for Kevin Milwood, Kenny Rogers, Jeff Suppan. its crazy
  3. yeaaaah im sorry Kansas City but screw you if you think you are going to take Tony away from Red Sox Nation...
  4. and also as if you were watching the game, Remy indicated that all of the outfielders were playing shallow because Gregg Zaun was up at the plate, but that plan of course didnt work out so well
  5. Yeaa, leave Sheff alone, you mean person you, haha MCHammer you should know better than that
  6. remember on thursday sox will be back at home, games 1 & 2 vs Oakland Schil and Wake will do and Damon is coming back as well for game 1
  7. oh well just have to push this loss aside, 18 games left with a 2.5 lead--remember sox have been able to go thru couple weeks stretch holding onto same lead or less, just like last year, have faith
  8. im happy sox were able to tire out Down and get to the bullpen, 3 run lead with 4 innings to go, very do-able
  9. for Clement, Blue Jays just isnt the team for him to face, already started 2 games that were losses in the second half against the Blue Jays, 4-3 loss in April and 15-2 loss in July
  10. there goes my hopes of today Clement bringing his ERA back down to under 4
  11. so who can be called from teh bullpen
  12. see Clement when you leave your fastball up in the zone, you will get hit off of, just to let you know in case you had forgotten
  13. juice giambi back at it again with a 3-run HR in the 1st inning
  14. pitcher vs batter matchups Matt Clement vs: (career against Blue Jays in 2 games a 0-1 record with an 8.49 ERA) Russ Adams, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) 2 RBIs, Walk, K Frank Catalanotto, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) Double, 2 RBIs, Walk, K Aaron Hill, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) RBI, K Shea Hillenbrand, 2 for 14 (.143 avg) Double, RBI, 4 Ks Eric Hinske, 3 for 5 (.600 avg) 2 RBIs, Walk, K *Orlando Hudson, 3 for 5 (.600 avg) Walk, 2 Ks Corey Koskie, 0 for 2, Walk Alex Rios, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) Walk, K Vernon Wells, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) 2 Ks Gregg Zaun, 2 for 5 (.400 avg) RBI, Walk, 2 Ks Scott Downs vs: (career against Red Sox in 1 game an ERA of 4.91, career at Rogers Centre in 12 games a 2-2 record with a 3.53 ERA) David Ortiz, 0 for 1 Edgar Renterria, 0 for 1 Manny Ramirez, 0 for 1 Jason Varitek, 0 for 2, K Kevin Millar, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) HR, RBI, Walk, K Bill Mueller, 1 for 2 (.500 avg) HR, 2 RBIs Trot Nixon, 1 for 2 (.500 avg) *Johnny Damon, 0 for 5, K
  15. i want you to go back in data for the times for the red sox david ortiz has made errors while playing 1st base, world series and regular season games at national league parks combined. dont think theres been that much errors. do you even know of him picking off a cardinal player who was leaning off of 3rd base in the world series? plus playing 1st this season in june he was picking clean double plays, but since he's their best bat, he's the DH. back up your "Facts" with actual data that says he sucks on the field
  16. or the "what if" of all, Red Sox organization letting go Clemens not knowing what seasons he would have after leaving Boston
  17. really I didnt f***ing know that, jeez besides what helps drive the vote getters is what is done in the last month of the season. Like Vlad last year in September carrying the team on his back with 12 HRs helped his cause to get the MVP
  18. Last 10 Games: David Ortiz- 11 for 30 (.300 avg) 4 HRs, 8 RBIs, 7 Runs scored, 11 Walks (11 game streak of drawing at least 1 walk per game) Alex Rodriguez- 12 for 37 (.295 avg) 1 Double, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 7 Runs scored, 2 Walks
  19. i never negated the fact that payton is happy or not in oakland, and never did i mention about chad bardford, i am happy he's here. I was just thinking about if god forbid Damon misses some more time down the stretch
  20. so far he won't be back for the rest of this Toronto series, hope for some great leadoff hitting by Tony G, and Kapler to step up his outfield defense and get out of his hitting slump. Jeez I dont think Jay Payton realized how much playing time he wouldve had if he stayed with Boston, mix Trot's disabled list time with now Johnny missing out on games
  21. thing is you this season, even if with 2 outs you never ever start Timlin off when there are men on base because he will let them score. He has the highest ratio for a reliever in the major leagues, allowing 17 of 31 inherited runners to score. Tito said his plan was to have foulke take care of the lefties and timlin the righties. Tito isnt that Myers and Bradford's bullpen duties?? Right now as its looking like Id have Foulke and Papelbon share 7th/8th inning set up duties and start Timlin off in the 9th
  22. the white sox's aces in Mark Buehrle and Jon Garland this season havent had a good time facing the Red Sox 2005 Buehrle vs Red Sox in 2 games: 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA Garland vs Red Sox in 2 games: 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA each having one game played at Fenway Garland with the loss lasting just 5.1 innings and giving 5 runs on 9 hits Buehrle lasting 7 innings giving up 6 runs on 12 hits
  23. not all of the sox wins were consecutive in the post-season
  24. in the end, the best team prevails and it wasnt the Cardinals. face it the yanks/sox series wasnt won by a sweep, but as you know coming from behind after dropping first 3 games. something only the best team could be be able to do...
