  1. "one red seat" he just doesnt want to admit it, best team in the end was the red sox
  2. exactly the best team in baseball is decided during the late cool October nights
  3. as indicated in the article you found, only would the yanks become the division champs if they beat the Sox in the 1 game playoff at Yankee Stadium
  4. and Millar just doing an Olerud like play
  5. wow i just saw a stat on yahoo sports that even don and jerry didnt mention, snuck up on me:
  6. easily 425-450 feet, Lilly was like "papi i'm gonna give you a high fastball up and in" to which Papi replies, "Fine by me" ---i got my wish as this innining they really made him work and throw a lot of pitches (20+) so far first 4 innings is now at 63 pittches
  7. whats this I heard on NESN, the Sox batters will make him work and throw a lot of pitches??? they are being anxious right now and having at bats, that at the most go 3 pitches (lots of swings and misses have been on calls that wouldve been ball if no swing)
  8. tonight's game is just too quiet, just moreso the rogers centre is barelu at half capacity. it makes for a better game when its a packed house
  9. yeaaa it was a typo, i guess i'll put my replies thru u before i post them
  10. i know fully well the story about his wife's family living in Baltimore, I do remember however on a NESN pre-game report Gordon Edes reporting about Gordon Edes, they were high on his list during the trade deadline. He likes the clubhouse and ball park atmosphere and the type of fans that come to root for their team
  11. no its true, he said they were high on his list during the trade deadline. He likes the clubhouse and ball park atmosphere and the type of fans that come to root for their team
  12. you got some problems dude, you do realize damon is out because his shoulder is so sore when he throws now, that gives him pian, yes lets keep him in the game to furthe cause it more injury. calm down would ya? go meet up with Irish Jay and Joe and have a lil' pow-wow sleepover

  14. Miller was signed to a one season contract with a club option for him to return next season
  15. keep in mind Wells is questionable for 2006, with him mulling retirement
  16. trust me Youk at the least wont be a backup again, he doesnt deserve that after this season being moved up and down. Olerud will be what he was this year, a reserve player on the bench considering his bad legs. I would be very happy if they resign Olerud and Mueller
  17. i guess you mean who will be on second base, personally Id like to see the Sox resign Graffanino and have Pedroia's first season as a backup, moreso he can learn from the veteran that Tony G is. Say what anybody wants, Ive quickly become a big fan of Tony's. besides it would be good for Pedroia, considering he ended the 05 season batting at .255
  18. just take one game at a time, it'll be less stressful
  19. again I say Red Sox Nation still takes yesterday's loss in a positive light. heres an article for you Yank fans. as Dr Evil would say "Stick that in your pipe and smoke it"
  20. I just heard that Brewers this offseason will be interested in dealing their 1st baseman Lyle Overbay, 28 years old. This season he has hit 17 HRs with 67 RBIs http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6639
  21. Konerko a Good Fit? With offense likely a primary concern this off-season for the Angels, one player who could help them out is Chicago's Paul Konerko. The former Dodger, who is making $8.75 million this season, will be a free agent and would be a good complement to Vladimir Guerrero and Garret Anderson. Konerko, who can play either designated hitter or first base, is hitting .280 with 37 home runs and 90 RBI. Fifty-two of his RBI have come with runners in scoring position, and his home runs would lead the Angels. And with Steve Finley a question mark as an everyday center fielder, Darin Erstad could shift back to the outfield. "Konerko's tough," Scioscia said. "As far as a guy who's tough with runners in scoring position, he's near the top of the list. He's tough."
  22. I really believe MCHammer that Wade Miller shjould just put off on returning this season and the rotation thats going right now in Schilling, Wakefield, Arroyo, Clement and Wells I think is very suitable and capable of going rest of 05 and into October. Im sure he will come back next spring as the Wade Miller that pitched for the Astros, maybe if by some chance we have a sizable lead before the yankee series and he could make a spot start before then so could have our starters have an extra day of rest, only viable option right there. Right now in a key series this pennant push I would cringe if he was given the ball
  23. Irish Jay, have you looked at what Millar has done in the past several weeks. Note: Olerud cant start in consecutive days because of his legs arent what they were in the past!!! And also Kapler was going to start anyway in center field because Damon right now cant throw a ball without his arm being in pain, if you actually payed attention to what is going on.
  24. Even if the Sox just go 10-10 for rest of the season they would have a record of 93-69. For the Yankees to tie that theyd still have to go 13-7 rest of the way
  25. biggest thing for the Sox this series, is that they wont have to face the Blue Jays' ace Halladay
