  1. Thoughts on Josh Brown? He's a free agent this season, 26 years old, who has kicked for the Seahawks the last 3 seasons. He's made 63 of 80 FGs (78.8 %) in his career. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6558
  2. If Alex's glove is looking golden as it has been in spring training... Im all set with having him as the shortsop for the forseeable future, he's just the #9 hitter of the lineup as well
  3. Lowell is coming around quietly, Im agreeing with that. He started the spring in a 3 for 21 slump. Since then he's had 6 hits in his last 14 ABs
  4. Him fanning 5 in 7.2 innings I'll still take, besides I think he's just bound to get better.
  5. Oh cmon you should know that Sheffield never has temper tantrums
  6. Good game by Pena against NY. He went 2 for 4 with big hit of course being the 2-run shot (tying the game). He did strike out but I did notice that each AB, he was taking his pitches. This spring training (most of which was spent in WBC) 3 for 8 (.375 avg) HR, 2 RBIs, 4 Ks---- 1 game was played for Cincy, 0 for 3 with 3 Ks So overall a good start with his new team, lets hope it parlays
  7. Id say they call him up when Adam Stern' s 17 days are up I just cant see him making the opening day roster Pitchers *(11) Curt Schilling, Tim Wakefield, Josh Beckett, David Wells (held back until April 12), Matt Clement, Jonathan Papelbon, Rudy Seanez, David Riske, Julian Tavarez, Mike Timlin, Keith Foulke Catchers (2) Jason Varitek, Josh Bard Infielders (7) Kevin Youkilis, J.T. Snow, David Ortiz, Mark Loretta, Alex Gonzalez, Alex Cora, Mike Lowell Outfielders (5) Manny Ramirez, Coco Crisp, Trot Nixon, Wily Mo Pena, Adam Stern
  8. Also to be noted is that Vanderjagt is turning 36 this year. In which he's entering the point that kickers wear down, Edinger is turning 28
  9. Id go with that, but I think Theo will still be focused more on getting ABs & playing time for Wily. A full season of conditioning in Pawtucket wouldnt be the worst thing for Stern, where he would get more playing time than he would up north. Also an optioning of him to Pawtucket, they could be able to add another arm in the pen like DiNardo, DelCarmen, or even Hansen
  10. Stern takes Farnsworth deep, 5-4 ball game
  11. 2 run HR given up by... Riske I know spring training stats have no relavance, but would one of the sox players/coaches smack some sense into Riske
  12. Papelbon worked hard thru 5 innings. I find it very positive he held this Yankees lineup to 2 runs in 5 innings of play That was a slick play by Machado to turn the double play
  13. Now thats how to end his outing He's up to 75 pitches I believe
  14. Its not like that he cares? Course he should care, because guess what.. this should get going an investigation into Sheffield along with Bonds. yes lets give steroids a free pass please
  15. true, he's still taking his pitches in his first ABs so far that ive seen him. yesterday's game included He is now 2 for 3, HR, 2 RBIs, Walk, K. Not bad start at all Stern show off your power there, RBI double. Its 3-2
  16. Atta boy Pena 2 run shot to left field ties it up at 2
  17. Proof on another juicer, how sweet it is
  18. I for one am happy that Dave McCarty is still going to be around, in the Red Sox sense that is. I'll never forget being at the game where he had hit a walkoff HR couple of years ago. A classy guy
  19. some trade talks are beginning to brew, redsox.bostonherald.com
  20. ok, first stop putting f***ing words in my mouth Those players that I have mentioned that have will get standing ovations from the Fenway Faithful when they return who miss all of them. You make blatant posts thats always the same, thinking that all Sox fans think alike that you have wrapped up in your little imagination. "You fans rip players when they leave, you fans are not loyal as us Yankee fans are." Go find posts that say f*** Bill Mueller, Im waiting... to talksox mods, sorry for my vulgar comments. each thread thats made makes talksox members hostile. And to other yankee fans who frequent this site, this nowhere near is aimed at you. With you guys its fun 2 rip back and forth about sox vs yanks, on the other hand rivernator makes it an agenda of his
  21. Just to remind everyone that has NESN, tonight at 7pm Red Sox vs Yankees Who's starting for us you say? That would be Jonathan Papelbon
  22. Non no hey its alright with me if you boo, like I said it comes with the rivalry. Ive just brought up that before to show that Sox fans arent always the ones to boo players who went to the other side. Thats all really
  23. Bronson, you were a classy guy who loved the city of Boston. I wont forget that that and thanks for the memories. I actually had went to 1 of his best starts of the season. 7 innings, 6 Hits, 1 Run, 2 Walks, 8 Ks Oddly enough it came against the Cincinatti Reds, and 2 of his Ks came against Wily Mo
  24. Again I say, its still hard for you to understand?? He went to the Yankees... of course we are going to criticize him when he leaves and call him a traitor. Thats how the rivalry goes. If you go to the dark side... we're going to let you know how we feel about it Again as I said before, another thread made by you thats quickly become a red sox vs yankees argument. Oh yes we crush any loyalty we had for ever damn player we have had. I guess thats why O-Cab had those long standing ovations, IMO Kevin Millar will also on May 5 (1st game at Fenway) So will in the future see Bill Mueller (try & find a post that "assasinates him), Derek Lowe, Pedro Martinez, Doug Mirabelli, Bronson Arroyo, Dave Roberts (try & find a post that "assasinates him), and yes I look forward to giving Bronson his due as well. And Ghost of Malzone: That is how MCHammer has always thought about Bronson, its not just because he is leaving for another team
