  1. I like the high towering ones more...when he waves his bat around his head then flips it away after he knows he got one is great to watch. Same with Manny
  2. and beckett is dominating..one hitter (knock on wood)
  3. very impressive offense tonight. big papi's blast a minute ago was nice
  4. you don't think loretta will be back?
  5. If the Red Sox FO made this move there would be the biggest riot in Boston since the Revolution. Seriously, people would die.
  6. Overall, I liked what I saw offensively, especially our 3-4-5 guys (7 RBIs). Defensively and pitching wise, we SUCKED. Just a bump in the road for Lester I think, he'll come back strong.
  7. That's what was supposed to happen. Seriously, I want to know who voted yes on this poll. Whoever it was, be a man and admit it. Then question why you are on a Red Sox message board site, since you are obviously not a Red Sox fan! Come on man...
  8. The following players have contracts that are set to expire at the end of this season: Terry Francona (obviously not a player- club option) Curt Schilling (option) Trot Nixon Keith Fouke (option) Yim Wakefield (option) Mark Loretta (option) Jason Johnson (option) Mike Timlin Alex Gonzalez David Wells Rudy Seanez Alex Cora Doug Mirabelli Willy Mo Pena Hee Seop Choi Kevin Youkilis Lenny DiNardo Jon Papelbon Adam Stern Abe Alvarez Gabe Kapler Craig Hansen Jon Lester Who do you see the Sox bringing back? I picture them re-signing: Francona, Schilling, Wakefield, Loretta, Timlin, Gonzalez, Cora, Mirabelli, Pena, Youkilis, DiNardo, Papelbon, Stern, Kapler, Hansen, and Lester.
  9. I know it was 3 years ago. Don't be an ass, I can have my opinion.
  10. I'd give Torre a punch in the gut any day. I hate that man.
  11. I have no idea why the Sox would not offer this guy a nice contract. Though he is kinda old, he plays the hardest of anyone on the team every day and gets on base at a pretty high clip. WMP is much worse defensively and can really only contribute through the longball. Nixon works pitchers and still hits for power when we need it most ('03 ALCS anyone?)
  12. I just finished reading Bill Simmons' book, and if he speaks for all of Red Sox Nation as he seems to, then Pedro should be on this list. He spent 7 years here, won 2 Cy Youngs and a World Series, and ONE-HIT the Yankees in the Bronx. If that isn't enough to make someone a hero than I don't know what is. About Ortiz, didn't he just sign a pretty big extension?
  13. The Red Sox won't do this, since both Schilling and Theo Epstein have publicly praised Gonzalez as the Gold Glover this year and have criticized fans/writers that call for a new SS. Obviously if the GM loves the current SS he won't go get a new one. PLus Lugo isn't all that great offensively.
  14. Until Varitek returns to his normal offensive form, I'd have the lineup like this (with Crisp) 1) Youkilis 1B 2) Loretta 2B 3) Ortiz DH 4) Ramirez LF 5) Nixon RF (Pena vs. LHP) 6) Lowell 3B 7) Varitek C 8) Crisp CF 9) Gonzalez SS
  15. I was pleasantly surpised by Gabbard, whose minor league numbers aren't all that great. Hopefully he'll join Lester, Papelbon, Delcarmen, and Hansen as rookies anchoring our staff/bullpen.
