  1. holding out hope Javy Lopez somehow because available. Its going to stick out like a sore thumb having our starting catcher hitting under .190
  2. As Remy agreed with me, the Sox were trailing by 2 runs halfway through the game. I did put in parentheses, granted it was a bad call in the end. that of course towards the ump
  3. Who wouldve thought? Standing ovation for Jason Johnson. Today's game showed what he has to do, keep utilizing that sinkerball and just get the groundball outs. He'll probably be granted another start which would be at Tampa Bay on Sunday
  4. Well DeMarlo Hale has had had 2 bad baserunning decisions in last couple of games, had to come sooner or later --Sending Dougie who was on 2nd after Coco singled right to Grady Sizemore --(Granted it was a bad call in the end) Now sending Youkilis who was on 2nd with team down by 2 runs. It couldve been bases loaded for mr. double
  5. tell that to Theo & other coaches, they are the ones who motion him when to do so
  6. Back to Back 7 pitch innings:blink: Is he settling into a grrove?
  7. By the way Jason Johnson, you Suck!!! 36 pitch 1st inning
  8. Varitek to have surgery on left knee!!!??? Thoe make a move if any through the waivers. The Sox can not afford to have for a month a catching duo of Belli/Huckaby
  9. Gordon Edes speculated a veteran pitcher (end of Tavarez or Seanez?) could be DFA'd, or the new guy Bryan Corey could be sent down to Pawtucket
  10. IMO if its anything more than 2 weeks, they have to start searching the waiver wires for better hitting catchers than the duo of Belli & Huckaby. If so, I wouldnt be surprised to see the Sox try to claim O's Javy Lopez. I heard he has asked team to waive him and theyre likely to go through with that very soon
  11. Of course its a given Abreu would be in for tonights game. His stats against Burnett, why not?... 12 for 31 (.387 avg) 2 Doubles, HR, 8 RBIs, 8 Walks, 4 SBs
  12. Elijah Dukes was suspended indefinitely for his recent comments. Now he's contemplating if he should retire altogether... http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/news/262103.html
  13. Mo Vaughn was in a different day & age before Papi took over Boston. No doubt all Boston fans will remember the glory days of Mo Ortiz still just turned 30, with his size Id say he'll be consistently productive for another 4/5 years (how long his extension is). He is also inching closer to several of Mo's career stats
  14. Coco's Disciples lets get tonight's game thread up & running
  15. The main reason the Sox acquired Bryan Corey is because this season he held lefties to a .154 avg, so they would still be all set with that option
  16. Wang's 4 starts vs Boston L Sep 30, 2005- 6.2 innings, 4 Hits, 5 Runs (3 ER), HR, 6 Walks, 4 Ks ND May 1, 2006- 5 innings, 6 Hits, 3 Runs, 4 Walks L May 22, 2006- 6 innings, 9 Hits, 7 Runs, HR, Walk, K W Jun 6, 2006 7 innings, 8 Hits, 1 Run, 2 Walks, 2 Ks
  17. Please let it be known that waiver deals arent that easy. mlbtraderumors.com
  18. Im thinking Javier Lopez will get sent to Pawtucket
  19. Long relief yes Snyder though has shown he doesnt have the stamina to last 5 innings or more. He'd be more reliable coming out of the bullpen
  20. rotoworld All signs pointing to that once the offseason is here the Sox will try to trade Clement to any team for anything and will eat up that salary if they have to. If no one bites then they'll just buy out his contract and send him packing
  21. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-braves-cardinalstrade&prov=ap&type=lgns A last minute trade at the deadline St. Louis- Jorge Sosa Atlanta- minor league right handed reliever
  22. Accompanied with 166 RBIs. On his torrid pace right now I wouldnt put it past him for his 2006 season stats to look as such
  23. What Papi is doing is just God-like, playoffs alone say so. Yes a big reason is who is batting behind him. Papi's 15 walkoff hits (7 HRs) in 4 seasons, must be inching closer already to franchise record I believe. Sorry didnt realize we were shunning Manny as if he was a nobody
